So from Waqar Younis we learn that Wasim Khan went behind everyone's backs to Amir to negotiate some sort of a return - so it seems that PCB top brass do want him back but is it the right thing to do?

His innocuous military medium bowling is not needed anywhere outside of England, he'll be massacred in the UAE.

If it was up to me, he'd never play another game for Pakistan again. But I'm sure PCB will find a way the bring him back.

One thing I can say with surety now though is that Amir is by far the most overrated bowler in the world. I can't think of anyone who delivers as rarely as him but almost always manages to have such a massive hype around him.

Lol his Mark Ealham type bowling is not needed

Mark my words. Amir has a strong mafia/lobby behind him which brought him back after ban and will do it again which is why Wasim Khan did what he did. We have Shaheen and Hassan who are like levels ahead of amir right now then we have Rauf, Hasnain and Abbas returning in tests. Do we really need this attention seeker ?

The question should be ‘When will Amir comeback’, and the answer hopefully will be before the WT20.

Pakistan only has one new ball bowler, they’ve tried Hassan Ali and Hasnain, both failed miserably.

Fact is, Amir is still our best new ball bowler after Shaheen, and this will be proven to be correct after the tour of England ends.

I'll prefer Pakistan to loose the world cup than playing amir and winning the match. Amir has done nothing to be recalled in team.

Amir won’t need to do anything to be recalled back to the team, he just needs to put his feet up and watch Roy and Bairstow playing golf with our bowlers.

Can't be recalled on the basis of Mark Ealham bowling where you can only pick up one wicket in 7-8 matches. Heck Mark Ealham might have picked up more than one wicket in the same number of matches

Pakistan didn't make an example out of him in 2010.

Better late than never - leave him out for good in 2021.

If he can perform well, learn how to handle social media a bit more maturely, and learns how to wisely handle his interpersonal skills, then yeah.

I only wish if Waqar was sacked with him as well.

Also - "if he can take a wicket".

I am Muhammad Amir not Hassan Ali. I do not have to perform in domestic to get selected.

No Amir should not make a come back.
if he is to make a come back make him do the hard yards in domestic.

Thank god he played again otherwise most of the people would have still remain delusional. The hype he was getting when he was not playing was unreal. :inti

He captured the imagination of people in such a big way when he burst onto the scene that people (myself included) were simply not willing to let go of the idea of everything that 2010 Amir represented.

With time though most people came to understand that he was merely a shadow of his former self. Every now and then he will show you shades of his former self which gets his fans excited again. But at the end of the day smart people will always come to the conclusion that he isn't one tenth the bowler that someone like Shaheen is, and its just not worth it to put up with his primadonna attitude at the expense of guys who have been working 50 times harder than him in domestic.

The more valid question is, does Amir want to play international cricket in future?

If he doesn't then all this debate and discussion about his international future is irrelevant.

He has hinted that he does, but there is no definite statement saying that he definitely wants to play for Pakistan again.

What he said to us in our interview was "If things get better in terms of the team management, then there is definitely a chance. Nobody knows what the future holds and what can happen tomorrow. But for now, and as things stand at the moment there is no chance of me playing for Pakistan."

Personally no. I think he's had enough of Intl. Cricket and mentally can't go through it right now, unless more money is put at the table.

He's far better ODI & T20 bowler than Haris Rauf & Hasnain, who both are better than Naseem/Musa/Faheem/Wahab.

He has good control, new-ball swing and a well-disguised slower ball. He would be handful until 2023 WC, after which the generation of Haris, Hasnain, M Wasim, Shahnawaz, etc may replace him.

Could be third or fourth LOI bowler for us behind Shaheen, Hasan (& Shahnawaz perhaps)

That's even more shameful.
Kohli and Rohit couldn't stand a broken clock.

In reality, Kohli and Rohit couldn't stand the scoreboard pressure after Pakistan had piled on 330+ in an ODI final.

Amir was just in the right place at the right time and fans like you are helping him mooch off that performance for the rest of his (even otherwise shady) career.

He has ok control at best but he can't swing the ball much now.

Should Amir be brought back?
yes, if I were from Pakistan.
