Should religious indoctrination be allowed to be used on children?

So at what point does the message in a book become "unacceptable"? At what point do we question the authenticity of the written text?

As Humans, are we sooo incapable to differentiate between right and wrong that we need a 1400 year old book to guide us?

As a Muslim, why would I want to go through the struggle of figuring out the solutions myself when I have God's word with me?

Sure you don't believe in it but its a no-brainer for those who do believe Quran as the complete divine message.

This is what is wrong with Islam, it doesn't let practioners think with their own brain and makes them feel proud that they don't think with their own brain.

This thread has been shamelessly derailed by a few usual suspects.

Debate is over, it is abuse, Next. Again the use of this example is to show that salt of the earth Muslims, with great values and moral fibre and a sense of right and wrong who live a righteous and honourable life are giving accidental cover with individuals who not necessarily through any fault of their own be predisposed to this condition and are not utterly disallowed from doing so.

You need to define what is "Islamophobia"?
When my employer criticizes me for valid reason, I do not shout "Brown hater","racist", "atheist o phobe" etc etc at him. When you make an accusation, please define the reasoning behind the accusation.
.

Islamophobia is more or less bigotry towards Islam or Muslims. Of course that probably depends on what is defined as "bigotry"...

But the main point about Islamophobia can be summarized as follows:

1) An Islamophobe will insult Muslims or Islamic beliefs just to offend. An example might be a novel being written in which the Prophet's wife is portrayed in less than savory manner. Such a book serves little to no benefit to humanity asides from maybe entertainment, and even that is subjective.

2) An Islamophobe will apply standards to Islam or Muslims that they do not hold for themselves (or others).

3) An Islamophobe will actually invent false statements or attribute falsities against Islam or Muslims.

In my personal opinion, that pretty much covers what Islamophobia is. Its common sense for themost part. It should bear noting that one only needs to fulfill any single one of those 3 things in order to be reasonably considered an Islamophobe.

Simply disagreeing with Islam or Muslims is NOT islamophobia. For example the statement "there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol" is NOT islamophobic, but "muslims are idiots for not drinking alcohol" is an islamophobic statement.

Its a tricky thing. How can you teach kids that God made Earth and Heavens and put Adam and Eve on it when the school curriculum says the exact opposite.

How can you teach the miracles in religious texts when it defies all science and logic and afterwards do not even let the kids question the irrationality of the so called miracles?

When you tell a kid that God did it or only God knows the truth, you are shutting down a very important aspect of a child's mind. That is the ability to question and think logically.

Islamophobia is indeed a term mostly used to stifle debate.

I am vehemently opposed to Muslimophobia which per definition is irrational attacks of Muslim people.

But all ideas and ideologies should be subjected to the utmost scrutiny, criticism and ridicule: it's how we achieve a concensus.

Which education system are you talking about? Canadian or Indian?
