Results have been horrendous and from the looks of it, the situation could get worse so should Pakistan remove Sarfaraz Ahmed as T20I captain?

He doesnt deserve a spot as a player in any format based upon his performances in last 2-3 years and on top of that his captaincy has been pretty ordinary. Unlike most successful captains he losses his calm so easily and starts screaming and shouting without any meaningful cricketing insight. Surely no player would like being screamed at after every ball.

Under his captaincy we have lost every test series except a drawn series against Eng (1-1) and series win at home vs Aus (1-0). We have lost every series against top 5 sides in ODIs as well except (1-1) draw vs NZ at home.
We have been consistently mediocre under him with the exception of T20s where he is also looking like loosing whatever touch he had and CT 17.

So i think doesnt making place in the team as a player, not being able to earn respect lf his players, not being calm and composed in tough situations, tactically ordinary, not studying strengths and weaknesses of any batsmen thoroughly and on top of that results speak for themselves along with the matches oppositions were able to turn around just because of his lack of cricketing insights and planning (3rd test in UAE vs NZ, BD match in Asia cup are just to give couple of examples.

So by any merit, scale or measure he shouldnt be the captain of any format in my opinion.

No, he absolutely shouldnt. And not just in t20s. He should be removed from ODIs and tests too.

The answer is No. He's having poor form and is clueless as Captain. Should be immediately removed from Test captaincy atleast. Things not looking bright for him in near future. I bet if he continues his poor form he'll be out of the team too.

This could be the first poll in PP’s history with 100% unanimous (one sided) voting, because I don’t see his cheerleaders coming out of hiding and vote to balance it a bit.

However, I didn’t like the statement of the poll - continue is too soft a word, it should have been “sacked”.

He should of been taken out as a captain in the beginning of 2019. The wheels are completed off and he needs some time off cricket. He can't lead the team, he can't keep wickets (drop catches), he can't bat.

Why is he a captain? and why is he even in the team at all? Does PCB know something we don't?

A resolution was submitted on Thursday in Punjab Assembly to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy, after the team suffered a 3-0 whitewash in T20I series against Sri Lanka last night.

The resolution was submitted by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) member Malik Zaheer Iqbal. The resolution stated that Sarfaraz failed to perform his responsibility and is not capable to lead the national side, therefore he should be immediately removed from captaincy.

The resolution further stated that the captaincy of national side should be handed to a responsible and skilled player, who is eligible to lead the team.

Earlier, Sarfaraz Ahmed admitted that he is responsible for the team failure, after the Men in Green failed to avoid a whitewash against Sri Lanka.

“When the team isn't performing then the captain is responsible,” said the captain during the post match conference. Sarfaraz said that the team despite getting a good start his side lost their way in the middle, losing the third match in process.

“We need to improve in all facets. If we keep dropping catches like this in the middle overs, we won't be able to beat any team,” he added.

Sri Lanka team despite boosting no star player, after ten of their regular squad members refused to tour Pakistan managed to achieve their first ever 3-0 clean sweep victory in T20 series over the hosts.

He should not be made captain for any format of the game. He should be dropped completely.

Players who don't make the team on merit have no business captaning a side.

Sarfraz fans deserve this humiliation.

Michael Brearley?

Most decent captains are one of the best players in the team. Brealey was a excellent tactician. But that was a different time for cricket.

All the top teams have top players leading from the front.

Poor reasoning. Micheal Brealey has nothing to do with Sarfraz.

I am not in favor of him continuing in tests or ODIs due to his age and the results produced. However, since the T20 World Cup is so close and this team is number 1 in the rankings, I want him to continue till this WC since it's so close.

His body language is not good. A captain should command respect from his teammates which doesn't seem to be the case. Pak team can definitely do better than have him as captain.

He didnt have much to show for in terms of batting or bowling - so there is a precedence.

However, I agree with you that Sarfaraz is not a good tactician either so that way the the comparison is flawed.

It's not that he specifically shouldn't be captain, he just doesn't deserve a spot on the team on merit. That applies for all formats.

71% so far saying get rid of him

Not sure why Pak always delay the inevitable. Same thing happened with Misbah and YK clinging on until they were well past their use by date amongst others before them. You literally have to throw these prima donna's out kicking and screaming.

This dithering only hurts the team further. PCB needs to grow a pair.

If he was a decent tactician and good communicator, I would not be calling for him to lose the job. But he is awful at those sides. Don't even need to talk about his batting or keeping.

I'd be more sympathetic to Sarfraz's plight if we were winning games but we're continually suffering humiliation after humiliation and shameless individuals like Sarfraz just do not know when to give up.

Big No
First of all he is not deserved in team..

I never seen his match winning knocks in critical situations and his strategies and tactics are poor.
He is continuing based on good will CT win against India

I have a suggestion for him. He should give up on captaincy. And should see if he makes it to team on his batting performances, if not should work hard in domestic cricket.

It's best for both.

I think Sarfraz should lose captaincy. Losing 0-3 to a weak SL team doesn't look good.

Pakistan needs a new captain and a fresh start.

Shafiq is a T20 captain!!! Misbah can bring his friend as captain and call it to give opportunity to a new player.
It would be even worse!!!

For winning against Scotland?

What has he done?

Use your brains people!

I think everyone has realized what a mentally weak person he is. Leaving the domestic captaincy after a couple of harsh questions cant be real, its childish.

His own performances have been down for the past 3 years, yet he is the first to point fingers at the failure of others.

His fitness had been atrocious yet he calls out other players but never himself.

He should be removed and never seen again in the international team

The PCB were backing Sarfaraz but Mishab has seen something which he did not like and forced Wasim Khan, Ehsan Mani to make this decision.
