Malik's replacement is Asif. As much as we like to think that Asif is a genuine hitter, he is not. He only slogs, and plays high risk aerial shots. Playing him over Malik is not much of an improvement.

Malik needs to play these three remaining ODIs along with Hafeez as they both will be in our World Cup team and will hold the middle order.
 
He's rubbish now. If Asif Ali does well in the rest of this series, drop Malik
 
What kind of innings Shoaib Malik has played? Is he a drag on the team? Free Loader?

Was watching this match, and instead of run a ball, he scored less and put pressure on set batsman.

Also, how can he not tackle spin and then get out to spinner?

When was the last time he performed under crucial situation or when required for Pakistan?

If Inzi does that, he will become a certified corrupt.
 
Total passenger in the side, only playing on senior quota. Every WC we have these two three seniors who are only the side so that they can play their last matches in a WC as a farewell. Last time we had Misbah, Afridi and Younis. This time we have Malik and Hafeez. Although Hafeez is far more valuable than Malik.
 
He shouldn't be on the bench. He has disappointed in this match. He still can play at a faster rate than Sohail, who is basically an Azam playing at no.4

That’s exactly what it is, a quota for senior players. And in the case of the seniors around today - they are senior not by exemplary performances or ability to handle pressure situations , but because they have managed to play so many games somehow or the other - clearly not on merit.
 
Although an average of 13 in England, does seem like a true reflection of his prowess in England. Maybe [MENTION=131701]Mamoon[/MENTION] can elaborate on that a little more.
 
He should be made to retire struggling on flat pitch will be a tailender on lesser wickets.
 
Shoaib Malik is not good enough but then there are lots of guys in the team who aren't good enough. Haris Sohail is too lazy and unfit to be his replacement.

This is so damn obvious. Haris has proper technique. The complete package. Malik is extremely limited nowadays.

Haris in Malik out. Oh and Hafeez too. He's garbage imo.
 
Should stay in 15 but Not in 11
He should be kept in squad for giving motivational talks
 
yes, he needs to be dropped because if he is in the squad he will be in the starting 11. Sarfraz has already called him the "Backbone'" of the team.
 
Malik mafia is too strong. He's not getting dropped no matter what. Will leave on his own terms.
 
Yes for the sake of our team..Today saw both him and hafeez were the reason we couldnt reach 340-350

Misbah actually led by example in that World Cup . Was our top scorer with an average of 50. A shame the Akmal and Shahzads were duds .
 
Inzi is only picking Shoaib to maintain his good relationships with him. It’s a dreadful decision and is not based on merit. Shoaib should be dropped from the squad as he brings no value and is a terrible batsman and a horrible bowler. Inzi for the sack after this World Cup hopefully he’s really let the nation down in his overall selection decisions.

Yup, threw it away in the QF though when he was looking good for a big score.

Just like if we include Wahab and haris rauf instead of juaid and faheem we will have a good shot at winning this WC.

Plus Malik has actually finished games, even if it has been a while since he did so. Asif has been in a position to do it but has usually got out in a limp fashion instead of taking us home.

Malik is in the team because he can hit big basically. Rizwan, Haris et al are accumulators.
 
Shoaib Malik doesn't belong to Playing XI

Well there are two Bhaijaans in our squad

Bhaijaan 1 Hafeez belongs to Playing XI but at 5 or 6

Bhaijaan 2 Malik belongs to Bench

It was disgusting how Harris was dropped for Malik in england series despite being in stellar form of late

6) Hafeez
7) Imad Wasim
8) Shadab
9) Wahab
10) Hasan Ali
11) Shaheen Afridi
 
As much i hate him i will still start him over Asif Ali
Asif just doesn't give us security
he is not a true batsman
add to that a poot fielder too unlike Malik

Yes, this is enough. I can still hear the continuous calls for him to be moved up the order, implying that the management is being unfair to him.

Pakistan cricket should first rid itself of individuals with agendas. Jab niyyat saaf nahi hai, toh yehi haal hona hai.
