Should the Ashes be reduced to a 3 test series given the lack of competitive cricket?

Ashes dont need to be reduced to 3 test matches.

If you wanna talk about 3/4 day test match then we are talking.

The 5 day 5 test matches eat too much from the international calendar of two top nations.

Australian pacers enjoyed the most seamer friendly pitches where test matches were played this year.

Sydney Test vs India
WI series
Perth Test
Pink Ball test Brisbane
MCG Test

Great year for Aussie fast bowlers to stat pad.

Why are most indians on this thread behaving like dehati aurats not able to hide their sheer jealousy. How come most of you are so concerned with the quality of cricket? Do you want the Chad (Australia) to yourself?

I gave you two names lol are you blind
so if 2 people say a opinion you believe it, when your challenged , you think listing 2 ppl names means its true......

woooow,

you could only list 1 article and you just named george dobel without any proof.

cmon if its common, its easy to find these, you would be hearing fans say this, ex cricketrs like nasser hussain, atherton, swann, harmison, any cricket writers would be saying this and many fans

but you cant.... like most people on this thread have rubbished those claims, with thr own opinions - they want to see 5 tests.

cmooooooooooooooooon list me some links / videos - ashes should be 3 tests

It might not happen anytime soon but if England's performance stays like this, then maybe we should. No point in watching a series where there is no competition.

The idea that the Ashes have been competitive over the years is a false one.
For huge stretches of time Australia have dominated
-- between 1934 and 1953 Aus won all series (of course, coincided with Bradman)
-- for 16yrs between 1989 and 2005 Aus won pretty much everything
-- in Australia itself,, between 98/87 and 2010/11 again Aus won, with a fifteen year period when Eng did not even win a single test.

It has always been a pretty one sided contest but matches are always sold out

Three things keep it going
-- Aussies love beating England
-- England judge their cricket "health" solely by the criterion of beating Australia in tests (stupid, as they so seldom do and they ignore world cups etc)
-- most importantly, it makes a lot of money.

As long as these factors remain it will continue ad infinitum

You still dont get the ashes do you, its what both countries want and judge themselves on, its a certified rivalry between the two countries

every other country has a poor record in Australia, when you go that far back,

no one listen to you, not even the OP holds this opinion anymore = as he's ran off, like always

Source for this?
it is true:

I think you have somewhat misunderstood my position, so I will reiterate it.

I regard the Ashes as the pinnacle of Test cricket and watch avidly. My cricket culture has been predominantly formed by living in England and as such, am as guilty as most others here in England and regard it as head and shoulders above all other “cricket” rivalries…
India vs Pakistan is not a cricketing rivalry but a geopolitical one, and hence, far more emotional than any sporting rivalry.

Will BGT reduced to just one test match ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔bcoz less competition from Indian team۔۔۔۔hardly scored 36۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔

it is true:

6.7 million in USD.

go and do some reasearch yourself, rather than spewing rubbish

most of the above - has been seen on UK sports shows = especially the ex english players i've listed
Stop yapping dude. Those were from articles. You do realize England plays 5 test series against India as well right? DObell wants cancelled that too for the exact same reason. You remotely sound like an ENlgish fan as you have serious comprehension issues. He is talking about returns perspective.

why cant you type Dobell name correctly - everytime you've mention him, you've mispelt his name.

Im a pakistan fan, who also follows cricket in general = like yourself.

Honestly mate - no one wants the ashes to be 3 tests, doobel like most people who are reliant to be on YT or cricket writers - barely get paid = so they become overdramatic to get views = more money.

Like i've said about the relevant ex cricketrs for both countries incluuding the Ecb and Ca plus their coaching = all want the ashes to be 5 tests = and this will never change

Why you bringing india into this???

are you sure i have comprehension issues, considering no relevant person involved in the ashes setup wants it to downsize to 3 tests.

The ashes is traditional, both countries want this to be 5 tests..... It will be 5 tests......... the end
