I feel so. Upul Tharanga, in my opinion is not a leader. Thisara has shown more presence in the field in the 2 t20is than Tharanga in all 5 ODI's. The team looks united and a lot more galvanised in t20 series. It maybe due to the addition of a few players, change in captaincy or simply the change in format, as SL have been pretty successful this year in t20s.
Thisara's tactics were pretty poor in the first t20i but they improved considerably in the second match. I feel if he is given more time in the role, he might get a lot better. Plus his own role is an enigma for all the leaders. Mahela used him the best in my opinion. As the late order hitter and a partnership breaker as a bowler. Perera might know better how he should be used considering his performance in the World XI series was his best in last 2 3 years which came unsurprisingly under a different captain and staff.
