This is my point here. At the moment, all we see is frantic journalism spreading mass hysteria and timid politicians/scientists panicking to make huge decisions that will have lasting affects for possibly a decade to come. But I believe these politicians and scientists will only truly understand the impact of their decisions when they themselves are acting upon the restrictions they have set out. They didn’t follow them and the proof is in the pudding with the Prime Minister of UK and his health secretary both reporting symptoms.

Should the PM, his cabinet, Sky and BBC news journalists and science advisors all get paid a maximum of £2500 a month, or have any insurance about their job security unlike the way they have dramatically changed the lives of Millions of people in England?

Why is the PM still raking in £250k a year and why are his advisors still on their 6 figure salaries throughout this pandemic? The PM has so far been incompetent and has not been able to adhere to his own advice. Their is video evidence of him and other ministers in parliament behaving hypocritically just after outlining strict social distancing measures.

Can someone also put a salary cap on the disgraceful reporters/editors and directors at the BBC and Sky news.

I can only conclude from your posts that you are a business owner and your business has suffered significantly. If so, I'm genuinely sorry.

However, after the initial herd immunity nonsense, the restrictions in place have been put in place for our own good.

Your ethical equivalence doesn't hold much weight, as what you've mentioned is by no means something that should be limited to this pandemic.

It should have been an ethical discussion since the Tories came to power.

The poor and unemployed existed before Covid 19.

The NHS was underfunded before Covid 19.

Zero hour contracts and low wages, poor job security existed before Covid 19.

Iain Duncan Smith was famously asked if he could live on £50 a week after imposing it on the nation. Naturally, he couldn't.

The question is, why is this only bothering you now?

This was the reality for many before Covid 19.

What decisions would you like the politicians to take which would safeguard health of the country and ALSO provide money to regular people?

The point is, when Rishi Sunak or Boris Johnson say “We have no forgotten you”, or “we are in this together”. Do they truly mean it?

I want to know how do they know what the people of England truly feel about this? If they are in this together with us, are they taking a massive pay cut from their jobs and capping it at £2500? Are they worrying about surviving with that amount i.e paying rent/mortgage, council tax, utilities and having enough to buy important supplies with what’s left over?

They have not and they will not. As much as people hate Trump, their are admirable qualities of the man during this crisis. He understands how the economy has been hit by this as he himself is a successful businessman, therefore he is looking to reassure his nation that he wants to bring people back to work as soon as possible.

The £2500 monthly cap is only for those that jobs aren't able to be carried out/aren't deemed essential enough during this period and are there furloughed. It's also only the limit on what the government will contribute of an employees pay, there are still many out there that are furloughed and still getting more than £2500 per month/their usual salary.
