I believe Wahab should be done away with as far as the ODI and T-20 squad is concerned but i believe his 90 mph pace will be handy in test cricket and he had outperformed Amir in the UAE vs the West Indies in 2016.

Wahab is a different bowler in test cricket.

No way.

Mir Hamza might be a better alternative.

Don't think Mir Hamza can do much in such conditions. Wahab will be more effective with his 88-90 mph pace and reverse swing. Much better alternative than a 127-132 km/hr Amir.

Mir Hamza is similar to Abbas. Wahab will give you an extra option with the old ball or when things get tough for the spinners.

In tests in the UAE his role is clear the reason he does well there. He makes things uncomfortable for the bats and Yasir & co benefit.

Don't see reverse-swing playing a massive part in the match considering it's a D/N Test.

Wahab has clearly regressed and bowls absolute rubbish now. His confidence is shot and he isn't getting any younger. Amir atleast keeps things tight, while Wahab has the ability to single-handedly hand over the initiative to the opposition in a single spell.

Keep him as far away as possible from this team. Him and Shan Masood are joke selections tbh.

You need wickets in test cricket, not economy, Amir's job is to take wickets, not to keep things tight. Wahab can go for a few but he can also get wickets with his pace. I am all for keeping Wahab away from the ODI and T-20 squad but he still has a role in test cricket where his pace and reverse swing will be handy for Pakistan especially in UAE conditions.

Bilal Asif or Asghar should be brought in considering the conditions

A spinner would be ideal...

Misbah always knew how to get the best out of Wahab on such wickets :ashwin

No.

Drop Amir and select a spinner.

They would have learned nothing if they go with a 3 pacer-1 spinner combination again.

Wahab is mediocre, but he does not have the heart of a sparrow. Anyhow, this is not good for Pakistan cricket when you look at the bigger picture.

I expect Wahab to call it a day in a couple of years. Maybe he's looking to play the CWC '19. I think he'll retire if he doesn't make the team.
