Saw his interview on TV, he is not shy at all. He did express some dissapointment that the PCB did not offer him the test captaincy after Misbah's retirement. He was like he had already achieved his goal of over taking Javed Miandad, of achieving 10,000 runs and being Pakistan's highest test scorer, he mentioned that if he was offered the captaincy it would have given him more motivation and a goal to carry on and mould the test team according to his beliefs and vision.
He also revealed that one of the reasons why he wanted to retire was that he did not want a younger captaincy to feel burden by his presence in the dressing room and the pressures involved in managing him.
While Younis wasn't in sublime touch, he was Pakistan's best test batsman, he would surely have delivered on the flat wickets of UAE and Sub Continent and there were no question marks over his fitness.
Should the PCB have offered him the test captaincy for the next 1-2 years in order to have him continue playing?
