There is some particular shot that a player plays so often and so well that it becomes his signature. shot

I dont know many so am asking real genuine fans

Can mention a few though

Dhoni_Helicopter shot
KP-switch hit
Tendulkar-straight drive
Afridi-over extra cover
Misbah-TUK:wahab:wahab
Jamshaid-Pull over square leg
Yuvi-that blistering cover drive
AB devillivers-reverse scoop

Please update the list
Do you agree with my classisfications?

Dilshan : dilscoop
Tendulkar:cut over third man
Andy flower : reverse sweep
Kohli :super flick.

Eoin Morgan - Twig scoop.
Ross Taylor - Slog sweep.
Gautam Gambhir / Farhat - Catch practice nudges to slips and gully.

I completely refute the claim that Afridi's signature stroke is towards the extra cover region. Instead, I think his signature shot is the straights six over the mid-wicket to mid-on region.

Perhaps the most memorable of all signature strokes is Moin Khan's lofted clip to fast, in-swinging deliveries which he dispatched with so much ease and regularity to the mid-wicket to square leg (even behind square leg) region.

Brian Lara Sqaure Cut Square Drive

SRT Striaght Drive,Cut over Slips,BAck foot coverdrive

Dhoni Helicopter shot

Sachin has to be the uppercut over third man or THAT back foot drive through the covers. Awesome shot. Loved when Inzi played that shot too.

Yousuf the lazy drive past point or the big golf swing that deposits the spinners over long off.

Afridi the closed eyes swing and a miss.

Misbah: after countless tuk tuks a sudden six to wake commentators :p

^ That usually happens once a left-arm spinner, such as Robin Peterson, enters the bowling attack. It's actually wonderful to watch Misbah-Ul-Haq hit sixes, you can actually see it coming with that trigger movement of his and when he decides to do he predominantly succeeds.

Its his way of saying: I am still here :misbah

Umar Akmal - getting caught at mid off in batting PP and bowing his head in shame.

Umar Gul - Elegant pull over mid on, effortless timing. Poetry in motion :gul

Kallis would definitely concur :kallis

Sohail Tanvir - Saeed Anwar-esque flick of the wrists for six on the leg side, although not seen since the T20 world cup final 2007 :shakib

Buttler with his scoops
Gambhirs inside out shot
Awais zias eyes closed swing

Misbah's signature shot is when he stops and then all of sudden comes down on one leg and smashes the ball which ends up going for six out of no where.

Tendulkar pretty much owns these shots -

Upper cut
Leg Glance
Straight drive
Backfoot punch through covers
Front foot cover drive
Hook
Sweep

Ricky Ponting- Pull and hook shot
Dhoni - Helicopter
Tendulkar - Straight drive
Umar Akmal - Upper cut punch

Pietersen - Switch Hit (Now mastered by AB too)
Andrew Strauss - Cut Shot
Rahul Dravid - Late Cut
VVS - Wristy shots on the on-side

Mohammad Irfan - middle stump uprooted... oh we're talking about shots :irfan

Mccullum - not sure what you call it, but I remember him hitting sixes for fun behind the keeper.

Virat Kohli - whip flick
Rohit Sharma - that pull over square leg
Suresh Raina - pulling any short pitch ball into keeper's hands! Quite a sight, I must say

Few more:

Dravid - Backfoot punch to covers off spinners
Laxman - Flicking a ball outside off to midwicket/midon, gawd!!
Ganguly - Those bullet drives through cover point region
Azhar - those laidback wristy flicks. Magnificent player, my all time favorite.
Gavaskar - straight drives
:sachin - Every shot in the book. Is there any he didn't master? :)

Sohail Tanvir - Saeed Anwar-esque flick of the wrists for six on the leg side, although not seen since the T20 world cup final 2007 :shakib

I remember those shots. I was shocked when he changed the game with those 2 blows..

Douglas Marillier - The Ramp Shot! :) I still remember that inning when he snatch the win out of team India's mouth.

Misbah-ul-Haq:- Backing away to leg side, shuffle to middle stump again and defend the ball. Clasic Misbah. :yk :p
Umar Akmal:-Him and his love for the dabs to third man for singles, although it doesn't come off well sometimes and he gets out. But it is still a better love story than twilight.
On a serious note-
Hafeez:-I don't remember anyone else who plays that elegant cover drive with such ease. He is just class when he plays that shot. It is such a shame that he can't play those big innings.

Misbah ul Haq ; bent leg heave towards leg side against a spinner

Umar Akmal ; he will become a complete batsman the day he finds out his signature shot, tries everything with no authority.

But Tendulkar's straight drive , Ponting's pull/hook, Yousuf's cover drive are unparalleled.

:))) :))

No one else does that ....

Saeed Anwar- the effortless flick of the wrist
never seen a better flick since then!

Divine.

^ Most likely the most exciting and greatest Pakistani opener of all-time.

P.S. I posted something in your introduction thread which I'm not sure you're actually aware of.

Great shot ......... effortless!!!

Younis Khan- A solid defensive shot that rolls towards mid off,Younis proceeds to run half way down the pitch and cause some confusion with the non-striker and then he finally gets home. :yk No one is better than YK at doing that!:19:

Shoaib Malik- Walk down the track with the intent to slog it out of the stadium, but proceeds to defend it with the full face of the bat. Vintage Malik! :malik

Shahid Afridi- Closing the eyes and swinging the bat, only to find it that it just met thin air on the way and not the ball. When he is extremely lucky,he may get a thick edge and get caught. :afridi

Hafeez's bluff. Puts his leg forward and pretends to come down the track, bowler falls for it and then Hafeez slogs him over mid-wicket for six. He is one of the best sites to behold when he is in full flow. Still a pathetic batsman though.

Sachin tendulker- has to be the uppercut. What a shot an effortless six.

Inzi- trot down the wicket for six.

Hafeez: Anywhere in fielder's hands or into the stumps.
Jamshed: Flick and Pull are amazing.
Misbah: One knee hit

Ahmed Shehzad...That delicious...crunchy...mouth watering drive ..square through off side...LOVE IT

he played a few in 4th and 5th odi ..also in 2nd T20..plz someone just upload one of that shots..Massive

The shot which brings match winning runs :yk

Lets just say that he has more runs and centuries in WON matches, than any pakistani batsman ever made in his entire career. Does that shame you? Knowing you, nothing will.

I disagree, Afridi's signature should should be right into the hands of a fielder.

In a shark infested water, you swim forward or you die. It is a matter of pride that declining averages are not allowed for the sake of longevity records.

Adam Gilchrist - that really, really defensive front foot defense

Malik- super late dab sort of cut.
Kohli- down the track lofted on drive.
Yousaf- lazy coverdrive, everything moves in slow motion when he plays that.
Dhoni- helicopter.
