So which is it? Batting a problem or bowling?

Logic says that giving away 450 is the reason for this situation but how do you absolve the batsmen?

I'd say batting mainly. The fact that we couldn't chase 136 in the 1st Test match is just criminal.

bowling
as pakistan was known as one of the best bowling unit of the world and now its gifting many runs easily

Management is the biggest problem. Management is there to make strategy and give batsmen and bowlers a plan.

So far, all the decisions of management in this series are pathetic. The batting plans are pathetic. The bowling plans are pathetic. The whole strategy towards this test series is pathetic. The team is looking like a bunch of cowards who are there to waste the time of spectators and score nothing.

Definetly batting. You seriously have no chance of competing even if you have a world class bowling attack for all kinds of conditions if you do not have batsmen capable of scoring at least a par score on those wickets.

Unbalanced bowling attack + poor batting. We've lost both games because we didn't score enough in the first innings.

Both. We've made poor selections in playing 3 pacers, Amir should have been left out and another spinner brought in.

The batting has just been poor, the batting order is wrong, the strategy is poor, we have 2 liabilities in the batting order.

The bowlers did well in both Tests, considering. The batting, and more aptly, the openers/Babar and Shafiq have been a huge problem.

It was mindless to try Masood, again. Shehzad has a good record in Tests too.

Babar has been abysmal and seems to be overthinking every shot he plays.

Shafiq has been poor throughout the year, but have Pakistan invested too much in him to drop him once and for all? I think he'll carry on being selected. His situation reminds me of Ian Bell's.

I also feel we needed to help Shah's workload more, and having him in tandem with another spinner would've been ideal too.

batting mostly 4 new players in the top order who out of which 3 are not good enough at the moment.

Bowling is fine. Abbas yasir amir hassan are fine for our away assignments coming up . Wahab is 2 risky in a 4 man attack. We got 20 wickets for less than 600 twice where 450 is distinctly par in the first innings
In uae drop amir and play a second spinner
On thw other hand... goodness me the batting is all over the show.

Honestly we can't give an honest assessment of the bowling since the combination played was all wrong. If we had another spinner we would know where we stand. The fast bowlers have been below par but that is not really something new. Given the conditions they are bowling in you can let it slide to an extent.

Batting has clear problems. Not a single batsman from our team has scored a hundred. You can't expect to win high scoring matches when no one goes into the 3 figures.
