Some interesting stats:

Took Captaincy when Pakistan was no 7 in T20s and no 8 in Odis.
Went into Champions trophy with 1 player in top 20 rankings.
Lost 2 of the first names on team sheet (Sharjeel and Irfan) to fixing allegations for CT.
Now has 14 wins out of 17 matches including t20 series victories against World T20 finalists and major Champions trophy win.

In shaa Allah no favouritism in his captaincy and the best positive and aggressive players are given opportunity to perform and given confidence by Sarfraz and Mickey bhai

Yep hopefully :)
Also, I would like to see him change his batting order in odis.

to be honest, Pakistan have ALWAYS had the talent to compete against the top teams and be a much better team than we have been in the last decade. The talent just hasn't been given the change till now

I don't even think Sarfraz is doing anything extra-ordinary, it just that the last 2-3 captains have been soo bad, Safraz automatically becomes a savior by playing to Pakistan's greatest strength (young talent)

yes his run a ball fifty would be vital in the middle overs....should come above hafeez and malik... leave the power hitting to hafeez and malik which they are good at and not coming good for sarfraz...

You are half right.. but the previous captains are timid to try those new talents and also goes into a shell when the opposition is in top... for example his inns against SRL in the CT, he didnt go into the shell, but continued to take those easy singles on offer and also hit the odd boundaries and batted at a 90+ to 100 SR even though he got chances to stay there in the middle, even if he is out the players coming would have never felt the scoreboard pressure or required to score at 10-12 RPO...

I think credit has to go to Mickey too. He's the one that has urged youngsters in the side and has provoked the side to play 'modern cricket'. But of course, Sarf is a part of the side going forward. I think team selection and batting order is imperative going foreard. Hafeez not coming in at #4 vs India was a HUGE part of his captaincy going forward. Would love more pro-active decisions like this in the future.

Kind of disagree we haven't given a chance we tried out a lot of players in the last decade, Sami, jamshed, Umar, Maqsood, Rizwan, Amin, Shazaib, shehzad, Rahat Ali, Masood the list is endless really. Fakhar's a rather new talent that's come along, starting cricket late I believe. And a big unique thing about Fakhar is he's both big hitting and fit. We lack those players, feel that's why he's outscoring guys like Sharjeel as he has the fitness to last a long innings, seen Shazaib get tired towards the end.

Junaid and Amir aren't new, and have come back in to form.

I think it's more to do with the talent not fulfilling their potential before. We had guys with plenty of talent before too who played. So I'd give quite a big credit to bowling coach and the captain for utilising the bowlers well.

Yes I agree with you that Pakistan always had the talent but we need someone to get the best out of those talented players. Sarfraz is someone who from a young age likes to play with kids of his mohalla and groom the team. This trait of his will help us moving forward and hopefully we will see more able youngsters in future and also playing to their potential.

Batting order is one think where I am a bit dissapointed with Sarfraz. You wont always get 230s to chase. Sooner or later we will chase 270/300+ and then batting order will play a role. Team should be build keeping in mind all kind of situations

For talent to fulfill their potential you need management to get the best out of their players. I am sorry but dont think past management gave enough confidence to youngsters. We are seeing Sharjeel, Babar, Haris etc for 5-6 years now but they werent backed properly. You cant just expect to flourish them from the word go.

Exactly credit to Mickey too. I hope this Sarfraz - Mickey partnership prosper and leads us to many victories in future.

In that long list... Except Umar and shehzad all of them had inconsistent chances and made scapegoats of a series loss as an alternative to keep seniors in...also add hammad azam to that list...

Also Umar was never tried as an opener or at no.3 or 4 consistently... then again Maqsood after 2 good fifties was demoted even to no.7 during his tenure in the team...Amin given chances here and there, was given a chance to open once abroad and never given again even when they were searching for openers as jamshed and hafeez are failing and shehzad was inconsistent and slow..

Jamshed when out of form couldnt get a stay in the team after his good successful run was left as a vagabond guy, and was called to open in the CWC from nowhere and when he is still completely out of form...

More inconsistent and stupid decisions were made when selecting youngsters and giving chances..

Exactly this was missing... inconsistent chances, youngsters were expected to play like how fakhar played in the CT FINAL in every game to stay in contention for the place.. With the old mgmt and selectors Hasan ali, Babar and Sharjeel would have been dropped from the team after the England tour last year...

I remember mickey after that England LO disaster tour mickey was calling for new talent and a modern brand of cricket,And he Said he will check on the domestic performers this was great as it added a new dimension in the selectors policies
