South Africa v Sri Lanka [Super 8s/Game 2] - Updates

Murali is a genius. Kemp caught at short leg but not given by nobhead umpire. The second Asian bowler to be cheated out of a hat-trick in the last few years against a white side, after Kaneria v England.
 
The match suddenly swings again!!!

South Africa was cruising at 160/2. Kallis (63 off 73) and Gibbs (31 off 50) were getting close to the target. 50 needed from 18 overs, at 2.77 rpo.

And then, Murali strikes twice. Gibbs, and the dangerman Boucher gone off successive deliveries.

Kallis still in. Kemp the new batsman in. Pollock and Hall still remain. Is it too-little-too-late for Sri Lanka??? Let 's wait and see.

Clearly, they cannot contain the batsmen. They need wickets. Murali has two more overs. Vaas has 3 and Jayasuriya can bowl 5 more.

Uhm, are you actually watching the game on TV? Or reading off a website somewhere? Kemp was not caught and the appeal turned down. Murali was not cheated out of a hat-trick. :O

Saffers can win the game with singles. 1 by 1. I dunno why they are bringing Malinga back.

I agree. There's absolutely no need for South Africa to panic.

And Sri Lanka has to go attacking on all cylinders. Bring in the key bowlers now. Let Vaas have a go. This game is not going into the final overs, and there's no need to save him for the end.

Malinga just finished his seemingly uneventful over, conceding 3 runs.
 
SA have a reputation for panicking though. I'm not really bothered who wins this match, but if SA choked it would be pretty amusing.

Things look fine in slowmo on TV and no commentators moaned etc.

If Murali deserved his hat-trick he would have got it and I would have been happy for him (even as a Saffer fan). :)
 
Kallis has survived two chances today, both tough ones but at least one should have been taken. Had this happened then Sri Lanka could have won.

Hmmm, everytime people bring up the choking phrase I think. Saffers are #1 on the ICC list and are still in the WC, while all you Pakistan fans ... see you in 4 years time. I guess it must be nice losing to a minnow, eh? :)
 
I'm not a Pakistan fan, I'm English. Everyone brings up the choking dig because it is kinda true.

Naah, SA has already practised the semis today and had a good look at Aus for the finals. :)

Aus are the big boys we want to get revenge for 1999.

I want SA to win actually. SA should have taken that run but the Aussies made too much noise which confused donald and SA deserved it as well!

SA do it this year come on !

I think you people are actually quite childish. Kallis has been the anchor of the SA innings and still had a strike rate of over 80 today. Just because he has only scored 4 boundaries, he has still been scoring runs.

SA will still win this game, which a lot of people said they wouldn't and who do we thank ... Kallis.
 
Do u guys think it was a bad idea to take Murali out of the attack and bring Malinga in for those few overs? he could have sustained the pressure.

I thought it was bad. The problem is that Vaas, Murali and Jayasuriya can in reality only bowl 30 of 50 if you get my point. Other bowlers are expensive but they have to bowl sometime!
 
Dropped catches and poor last 5 overs batting has cost them here!
 
I just turned over to the ffootball for 5 mins.

And I missed a hatrick!
