Guys I haven't watched the whole match. Was this a case of Saffies not being able to play spin again?

Pretty much and losing Smith early.

Totally bogged down. Poor shot selection. BD fielding ilike Tigers.

Just like v India, they did the basics properly. No frills. Efficiency personified.

Absolutely right. No rotation of the strike against spinners. Kemp specially just bogged down the whole innings and then got out immediately after Boucher was dismissed.

that's what seems refreshing about this team. The match against India and now it seems this one weren't really won in the 'upset' fashion. It was a good all round effort.

"YOu cant put it past them when they have to face 3 spinners on a wicket with no bounce" - Barry Richards after Ian Smith admired the way BD foughtback after that thrashing to the hands of Aussies.

ARe Bangaldesh the new Pakistan?
1) They are starting to beat India more often.
2) They win one gaem, get thrashed the next :)))

could it be that Sa are being tactful here by loosing this game they may or could avoid playing Australia in the semis some how ..

Old senile budha. He needs to sit home and do Allah Allah instead of throwing out idiotic comments in the commentary box.

they are more likely to play them now! Aus will top the table and SA are likely to finish 4th unless eng can sneak in. 1st plays 4th.

No. Best way to avoid Australia is win all your games.

Good allround effort aside, it was a brilliant innings by Ashraful to propel Bangladesh to 251. Probably as good as his hundred against Australia in Cardiff.

Now Richards talking about how the wicket suits them and how it was made for them. What about that Irish wicket vs us? Irish are use to playing on grass more then us.

Saffies just playing out the overs

Like the good ole days in the 90s when India would do that to us in Sharjah.

Ian Smith talking sense.

Barry Richards talking out of his @rse

Yesterday was effigy burning. what will be tomorrow? parade Bashar on an elephant or horse

With this loos SA will probably end up at number 4 in the table and AUS at one and seems like we mite just have AUS SA semi.

Abdur Razzak to Langeveldt, out Lbw!! Abdur Razzak tosses it up on the stumps, slanting into the right hander, Langeveldt gets forward and looks to defend it, misses it and rapped on the pads, a big shout for lbw and the finger has gone up, the ninth wicket is down now and the Bangladeshis are just a wicket away from causing another upset!!!

I think you forgot to change your signature :|

Well Gibbs isnt even trying.
I just wonder

Before Ind Ban Match the tone of cricinfo was in favor of Ban and even Yesterday they were quite serious that Ban mite pull it off, wonder if something is going on.

Yes Gibbs fifty! Good for my fantasy team!

Mortaza is back. I didn't even realize when he came back on the field.

47.2 Mortaza to Ntini, FOUR!!, fuller length delivery outside the off stump, Ntini leans into the shot and drives it to extra cover for four, glorious shot!!!

This is a fantastic performance by the Bangalis! Delaying their inevitable trip home with a high class performance. I was cheering like I would for Pakistan after every Ashraful four and every Sakib wicket. Great stuff.

Gibbs not fit enough , tomorrow eng wud be knocked by aus and then windies by SA , SA's chances not that hurt by this loss.

Its a blip - they should still qualify, but it reawakens England s interest in the WC...

this has opened up some hope for WI and Eng too now and made the group more interesting

Yes but they are still overconfident all the time, and its nice to see SAF lose.

Seeing as you made that comment against my name/post, I have to answer:-

Here's what I said on the 17th March in response to a Minnows thread:-
http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?t=37752&highlight=minnows
----

I have mixed view on the 'Minnows' debate.

I guess ALL teams were minnows once!

I'm not a great fan of Bermuda, Scotland, Ireland, Holland and Canada being in the World Cup.

Kenya I am 50-50 about.....dont know what the domestic scene/interest is like back home.

But Zimbabwe have been destroyed by their President - he single handedly decimated a half decent team.

They actually used to be quite good not that long ago.

As for Bangladesh (not on your list) - theyve done enough in recent years to suggest they have some fine cricketers and plenty of support for cricket which can see them get better and better in time.

And add to that some pretty good wins against Aus, Ind & Pak!

Sri Lanka should be the template for all!

i wasnt directing it to you yaar. its cos you had a good comment and i wanted to add summat to it.

Barry Richards, the old senile man, talking about how the Saffies have nothing to do in hotels, etc, and how that can affect performance on the field. How pathetic, old man.
