South Africa finish Day 1 at 82/3 after Pakistan posted 211 in the first innings of the first Test match

SA appealing for everything, often Pakistan get criticised for that. Shan and Babar played poor shots the rest were actually dismissed by bowlers. Good fightback by Kamran and Rizwan, need to last long time.
 
Pakistan hasn't lost the plot completely yet. Salman and Jamal still to come. Just need to play on merit and build one big partnership

This is completely wrong unless you mean cash in on the loose ball. You can’t just waft away going for shots. You have to know what to leave. This is the key in SENA not just going for shots but strike rotation while you wait for the right ball. Pak has just gifted the initiative after a good start.
 
It's good to be aggressive and that's the way to play on these saf pitches but we have been reckless, and dumb , specially Babar , shan and Saud all gifted their wickets, you can't go fishing like that, still it could have been worse ,.so all is not lost , 150, absolute minimum needed to stay in the game , 200 is par i think , anything above 250 would be bonus. Just don't gift your wickets plz.
 
Need to score at least 175. The pitch is not easy but SA batters perhaps know how to score in these conditions

lets be positive. Naseem has shown signs of improvement recently. Jamal is a good support. Khurram has proved to be a handful when filly fit. Abbass will hopefully keep things tight.

It's surprising the line up is suited to conditions. Shame the batsmen have been easily outfoxed by tall trundlers a la Abbott again
 
Rizwan playing nice and straight. Not looking to pull or cut (keeps horizontal shots down to a minimum)
Amla and ramiz saying the same on commentary. Punch down the ground for runs but not go too overly aggressive. You will perish with such seam and bounce in the first 30 overs.
 
Looks like Babar didn't do anything to rergain his form. PCB should get rid of these useless lazy players

nice game.

230 to 280 on most pithces is good enough. 300 plus on low bouncy wickets is good

on totally flat ones then 400 plus.
 
Me and my brother @Rana kept telling you all KG atm is much much much better thrn Babar and rizwan.

Too bad people keep highlighting past achievements or icc cricketer of the year awards as if past achievements have any relevance to modern achievements.

Just give up and accept it when it's over. Kohli fans are accepting it as well

kohli has bot fans and paid PR. no real fan in india barring some re@tards
and in pakistan for some reason. no idea why he is popular in pakistan.
 
Something doesn’t look quite right with Jansen. Either he is not fit or has some technical issue. Not bowling well at all on this minefield.

Virat's century vs Australia is >>>>> Any anything rizwan can ever achieve in his career.

The class between virat vs rizwan is enormous irrespective of form.

Kohli in his death bed will still be >>>>>> Rizwan in every capacity.

There is a place for both KG and Babar in the lineup. The shuffle up the order by getting rid of abdullah is the right one. Babar will regain form

khurram is better than all indian batsmen barring pant and jaiswal. even jaiswal was crap in SA

Babar is useless beyond belief in test cricket and t20 cricket.

I only backed him in odi which I still do. I just disagree with him being world class in odi as he's really just a latham or labu level odi batsmen which isn't a bad thing as Pakistan's cupboard is dry as is hence such batters are godsends for pk atm.

In test and t20 he was never that good and with his form slump it's more apprant.

Babar didn't regain any form in the sa odi series. His 50's seemed like 50's a 38 year old washed up cricketer would make and not a batter who is in his absolute prime.

The class between him and heck even rizwan in odi + Saim + Kamran was very apprant. All 3 performed better then he did.

right now ? you cant be serious ?

rizwan is better right now although kohli did average 50 in the last series vs SA. but again scores in losing causes only
thats why i never rated kohli. only scores in losing causes or maybe draw once in a while.


so you dont think rizwan would score more than kohli did in bgt this time?
 
Just switched on and saw the wickets.
Pretty poor from the top order Pakistan batsmen --apart from Saim, they have displayed such poor techniques.
Heard Amla talking -- the wicket is a bit spicy but not impossible -- you've got to guts it out and be judicious.
They are approaching it like it's a white ball game.
 
These boys are doing ok here. Hopefully they can keep going for a long time.

After being put in to bat I'm not too upset over this position.
