In Shan Masood, M. Amir
Out Imam Ul Haq, Hussain Talat

Line up should be

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Shan Masood
3. Babar Azam
4. M. Hafeez
5. Shoaib Malik
6. Sarfraz Ahmad
7. Shadab Khan
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Hassan Ali
10. M. Amir
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

What you say?

Cant drop imam based on his performance in 1st odi

fakhar needs to be dropped

imad needs to come in place of hussain talat

Rizwan In. Sarfraz Out.

Shan in. Fakhar Out.

Aamir in. Faheem Out.

Imad in. Talat Out.

Sarfraz out (if banned) Rizwan in
Faheem out Amir in
Talat out Shan in

If Sarfraz for Rizwan is the only change I would be happy with that.

Don't care who is the captain so don't come at me with we can't replace this clown as captain.

lol at all the knee jerk reactions, fakhar is fine.

1.Imam Ul Haq
2.Fakhar Zaman
3.Babar Azam
4.Shan Masood
5.Mohammad Hafeez
6.Hussain Talat
7.Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)
8.Shadab Khan
9.Mohammad Amir
10.Shaheen Afridi
11.Hasan Ali

8-11 looks decent, good actually - Shadab Hassan Amir Shaheen - it’s the issues further up (as always) that presents issues.

MALIK OUT FOR RIZWAN/SHAN
TALAT OUT FOR IMAD
MAYBE IMAM OUT FOR SHAN
MAYBE AMIR IN FOR TALAT

we should have won today. kasmay was so upset. how can you loose from getting south africa to 85-5

Amir in Faheem Out
Imad in Talat Out

Ideally would like to get Shan in there somehow but only person that can/should be dropped is Malik and that isn't gonna happen. Also top 3 is not changing at least for this series, and I don't want Shan to have to play in the middle order.

1. Imam-Ul-Haq
2. Fakhar Zaman
3. Babar Azam
4. Mohammad Hafeez
5. Shoaib Malik (He ain't going anywhere)
6. Sarfraz Ahmed
7. Imad Wasim
8. Shadab Khan
9. Hasan Ali
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

5th bowler is too weak and Hasan deserves a promotion from where you put him!!

3 overs from hafeez
3 from talat
2 from fakhar
2 from masood

a good captain will use them properly

if they can go for 50-55 runs, it'll be job well done

Shan, Imam
Babar, Hafeez, Rizwan, Sarfraz
Shadab,
Hasan, Amir, Shaheen, Shinwari (would have gone for Imad, if it wasn't at Centurion, would have loved to see another genuine spinner in squad).

Make it a 250 per game, where if 6 batsmen with tail can post 245/9 - SAF won't survive 50 overs. I like to see PAK going back to 1975 model where WIN won with 5 bowlers & Derek Murrey batting at 6!!!!

1.Fakhar Zaman
2.Imam Ul-Haq
3.Babar Azam

Rizwan in for Sarfraz who’ll probably be banned. Amir in for Talat.

I’d be tempted to let Hafeez captain the rest of the ODI series because he might be a better choice right now than Sarfraz for the WC. He was a solid T20 captain and he captained well in the one ODI Pakistan won in Australia. Sarfraz in this form is dragging down the rest of the batting lineup and Rizwan is a better keeper/athlete anyway with a great List A record.

Amir in for Talat because the strength of the team is bowling and it needs to be emphasized. Hafeez as a 5th bowling option isn’t good enough, but he’s incredibly effective when he’s a 6th option. It also puts less pressure on Faheem who’s best suited as a 5th bowling option right now.

Not sure how this Sarfraz thing will play out but if he’s suspended for a couple games then it’ll be really interesting to see how Rizwan goes. Big chance for him to steal a WC spot.

Seems like Sarfaraz is going to get a ban

1) Imam Ul Haq
2) Shan Masood
3) Babar Azam
4) Muhammad Hafeez (C)
5) Muhammad Rizwan (WK)
6) Fakhar Zaman
7) Shadab Khan
8) Faheem Ashraf/Imad Wasim (Both better than Hussain Talat)
9) Muhammad Amir
10) Hasan Ali
11) Shaheen Shah Afridi

I think this team will give tough competition overall..

No that's dicing with danger. Bowling is our strong suit and we should keep it varied and strong as far as possible

How did u come up with the ban assumption.
Are things moving fast in this issue or is that just Ur hunch

No that's dicing with danger. Bowling is our strong suit and we should keep it varied and strong as far as possible

the issue is shadab's batting, he's not good enough for number 7.

i guess you could have said the same for afridi but at least afridi was a hard hitting batsman capable of a quickfire 50 or even a 100...

do you honestly see shadab ever scoring a 100? yeah he's done well in tests but keep tests separate.

Imam ul Haq
Shan Masood
Babar Azam
Hussain Talat
Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Rizwan
Shoaib Malik (kinda useless @ 7)
Shadab Khan
Hasan Ali
Mohammad Amir
Shaheen Afridi

Our media itself is highlighting this issue a lot. Just check Pakpassion and there are approximately 400 comments.

It's hyped and it's everywhere on Facebook it seems like he is going to get some punish for this

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Hafeez *
Malik
Talat
Rizwan +
Shadab
Amir
Hassan
Shaheen

Amir <=> Faheem (Amir looks much better bat and bowler)
Sarfraz <=> Rizwan (His suspension is like a blessing in disguise to try out Rizwan)

Amir, Shaheen, Hassan and Shadab to bowl 10 overs each.

Hafeez and Talat to bowl 10.

If it was up to me:

Fakhar
Babar
Imam - his game is better suited to after the powerplay.
Shan
Hafeez
Rizwan
Shadab
Faheem
Hasan
Amir
Shaheen

MMHS Markhor

Read on Facebook Sarfraz will be banned for the rest of the tour and guess who will be made captain?

A favourite of MMHS but a player you don't like Markhor.

Shoaib Malik.

Don't know how true this rumour is but we'll see what happens.

We need to remove Fakhar, Sarfaraz and Hafeez and replace them with Saad, Saud and Rizwan and they will obviously give us a much better chance at winning.

Nobody scores hundreds in odis from outside top 4. It's a rare event for any1 Todo it. I like the jdeA to promote him up in situation like today

I like Hussain Talat but he has some technical issues.

We should rather have included Saud Shakeel who is in gun form and can bowl same as like Hussain Talat.

Another deserving player not selected!

We need to get rid of make shift players like Faheem, Malik and Talat. These three should be replaced with Amir, Shan and Imad for rest of the games. 5 months away from WC and we still don’t have a settled 11.

He's okay at tapping the ball around and running between the wickets and there's less chance of him playing a dumb shot first up.

He is one of the worst rotator of strike, poor runner and even poorer boundary hitter. He can't hit boundary with 9 men in, you think it's good idea to push him down when 4 men are on line?

Pakistan should make at least this change: Mohammad Amir in for Faheem Ashraf.

1.Imam Ul Haq
2.Fakhar Zaman
3.Babar Azam
4.Shan Masood
5.Mohammad Hafeez
6.Mohammad Rizwan
7.Imad Wasim
8.Shadab Khan
9.Hasan Ali
10.Mohammad Amir
11.Shaheen Afridi

yeah i'd beg to differ, might be rare but all rounders should have the ability to score 100s.

shadab is a number 8 batsman at best.

Probably rumor, Hafeez has bigger & stronger lobby and the guy is willing to take it; Malik probably has tasted the poisoned chalice, might not take a second sip.

Having said that, I put it this way - if PAK is to play WC under a specialist Captain, Malik & even Hafeez are much better choices than Sarfraz.

Malik is going to be hella useless in england conditions... I'd rather have Masood play in his position

PAK badly needs a good PSL for Umar Akmal, and preferably Maqsood as well - otherwise ....... Malik is a good Captain though - if he finds that he is costing the team as Captain, I am sure he'll step down or get "injured". At this age, he has nothing to earn from Captaincy, but can tarnish his hard earned image by dragging career as Captain.

man, it was so much easier posting xi's for pakistan 10 years ago...

i can't think of a proper combination..

If sarfaraz is banned:

Fakhar
Imam
Babar
Shan
Hafeez
Rizwan
Malik
Shadab
Aamir
Hasan
Shaheen

Looks like a really strong side. Hafeez, Shan, Fakhar, Malik can bowl 10.

It was equally difficult actually - you had to think of 2 between 3 of Wasim, Waquar, Shoaib, 2 between Razzak, Mahmood & Afridi; one to fit in the middle order of MoYo, Inzi, YK ......

Now, it's difficult indeed - one from Talat, Asif Ali; 2 between Imam, Fakhar, Shan; dilemma - Faheem or Imad, and the million dollar Q - Hafeez &/or Malik or none.......

Jeez, id much rather have shahid afridi come out of retirement and slot him at 7

Doubt it’ll happen but Shan needs to play. Play him at 5.

Fakhar
Imam
Babar
Hafeez
Shan
Malik
Shadab
Faheem
Hassan
Amir
Shaheen

If Sarfraz is banned.

Agree with you. I think Hafeez will take over till the WC If Sarfraz is sacked.

Faheem should be dropped at any cost, same goes for Malik but they won't drop him and wait for his one odd 50+ score so that he can cement his place for the World Cup. Playing Hafeez & Malik in the same XI is criminal in this age.

- Imam
- Fakhar
- Babar
- Masood
- Hafeez
- Sarfaraz/Rizwan
- Shadab
- Imad
- Hasan
- Amir
- Shaheen

BEURAN HENDRICKS CALLED UP TO PROTEAS ODI SQUAD; RESTED STEYN AND DE KOCK RETURN

Wednesday, 23 January 2019

Quinton de Kock and Dale Steyn, who were rested for the first two games, return to the Standard Bank Proteas squad for the remainder of the Momentum ODI Series against Pakistan, starting with the third ODI at SuperSport Park on Friday.

The selectors have also called up bizhub Highveld Lions left-arm seamer Beuran Hendricks who is uncapped in the 50 overs format but has previously represented the Proteas in T20 International matches.

Duanne Olivier, Dane Paterson and Heinrich Klaasen are the three players to drop out.

“We are very happy with the depth of our fast bowling resources,” commented Cricket South Africa (CSA) National Selection Panel (NSP) convener Linda Zondi, “particularly if you consider that Lungi Ngidi is still on the road back from injury and we also want to have a look at Anrich Nortje when he is fully recovered.

“At the same time we want to explore all the options that are available to us and Beuran will be able to offer variety to our attack.

“We are well aware of what Duanne, Dane and Heinrich have to offer and in the case of Duanne we are mindful of the amount of bowling he has done at the top level over the past month and we want to give him a break ahead of the Castle Lager Test Series against Sri Lanka.

“For the same reason we will be looking to rest Kagiso Rabada for the entire KFC T20 International Series,” concluded Mr. Zondi.

Standard Bank Proteas ODI squad (for remaining three games against Pakistan): Faf du Plessis (Multiply Titans, capt), Hashim Amla (World Sports Betting Cape Cobras), Quinton de Kock (Multiply Titans), Beuran Hendricks (bizhub Highveld Lions), Reeza Hendricks (bizhub Highveld Lions), Imran Tahir (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Aiden Markram (Multiply Titans), David Miller (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Andile Phehlukwayo (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Dwaine Pretorius (bizhub Highveld Lions), Kagiso Rabada (bizhub Highveld Lions), Tabraiz Shamsi (Multiply Titans), Dale Steyn (Multiply Titans), Rassie van der Dussen (bizhub Highveld Lions).

NBR/100 = non-boundary runs per 100 balls
B/B = balls per boundary
B/100 = boundaries per 100 balls
NBR+B = non-boundary runs + boundaries per 100 balls

His every stats are diluted for that Series against ZIM reserves. These stats on the table are a cascade of his career which reads 18 games, 910 runs @61/82 stats, with 4 hundreds & 4 50s. That's a record better than almost anyone, so obviously every other KPI that we measure will be excellent.

I am doing the same maths for his games against IND, NZ & SAF :

7 games - 155 runs @26/67, 233 balls, 1 fifty, 11 4s & 2 6s.
Now the NBR comes at 45.00, and B/100 B comes at 13/233 = 5.57

If I add, BD, SRL & AFG with that:

12 games - 465 runs @47/73, 634 balls, 1 hundred, 3 fifties, 27 4s & 7 6s.
Now the NBR comes at 52.50, and B/100 B comes at 34/634 = 5.36

The first set of stats are also diluted by one out layer innings at PE; by the end of this series with 3 more games, that spike will also be normalized quite a bit.

If he is to play ODI, it has to be as opener or not. I would rather suggest to play FZ at 3, because he can bash spin, can rotate strike and playing new ball isn't his best skills.

The best thing about this series was I did'nt watch this match live and catched up later.

Only thing expecting is bounce, short , bounce , short and more bounce and Inzi's favorite batting lineup that he has protected for last 2 years getting out softly.

If Mickey Arthur can or should do is promote Faheem and Shadab up the order over the shameful seniors. Pakistan will score 50-70 runs more.

Sa will be extra motivatied after the racial remarks by Sarfaraz. These kind of things always unite their team.

I still cannot believe they left out their best player against the short ball: Shan Masood. I mean how? Do you want to win?

Also what has been wrong with Amir? Pak has been a bowler short all the time.

Amir and Shan could make a world of difference to the balance. Not sure if Rizwan will replace Sarfraz.

How does Shan not get into this side? And Amir should be the first name on the team sheets considering the forms of Fahim and Hasan(bowling).

- Imam
- Fakhar
- Babar
- Malik
- Hafeez
- Sarfaraz/Rizwan
- Shadab
- Imad
- Hasan
- Amir
- Shaheen

If you want to strengthen the batting Masood for Imad or another bowler with Malik and Hafeez being the 6th bowler

I am pretty sure that Amir was one of the worst ODI bowlers last year.

Yeah agree a guy that hasn’t picked an ODI wicket in 5 or so games and averaged 100+ in ODI cricket in 2018 should be the first name on the team sheet.

That is why it is important to read the whole post before jumping to reply.

For which he was dropped from all three formats, he then came back and was miles better than any other Pak bowler in the test series.

In Shan Masood, M. Amir
Out Imam Ul Haq, Hussain Talat

Line up should be

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Shan Masood
3. Babar Azam
4. M. Hafeez
5. Shoaib Malik
6. Sarfraz Ahmad
7. Shadab Khan
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Hassan Ali
10. M. Amir
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

What you say?

Please no more Fahim Ashraf, he has done nothing till date and sadly he will never perform that is for sure.

So will Mickey be having the Azhar-Asad moment with Malik and Hafeez before or after the third odi

Shan for Talat. Don't see Faheem being dropped. He seems a certainty for WC

I think FZ should bat at 4. Babar's solid at 3

Can u blame them?
We only won 1 game against a top side in ODIs in 2018.
Just shows how poor 2018 was for us.
People want change.
I believe there is a fair argument for removing Sarfraz from the team, in light of his recent shenanigans. However, the obsession of the average poster on this forum is touching unhealthy levels now.

It feels like everyone is logging in for the special reason of bashing Sarfraz Ahmed. So much so, that a pre-match thread of an important ongoing series is attracting minimum interest.

1) Shan
2)Fakhar
3)Babar
4)Malik
5)Hafeez (captain)
6) Rizwan (keeper)
7)Imad
8)Hsan Ali
9) Shadab
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Shaheen Afridi

People are currently more concerned with sarfaraz's punishment rather than the match.
They just want a reason to kick sarfaraz out of the team and an uncalled for opportunity like this one is doing them wonders.

1.Babar Azam
2.Imam Ul Haq
3.Fakhar Zaman
4.Shan Masood
5.Mohammad Hafeez
6.Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)
7.Imad Wasim
8.Shadab Khan
9.Hasan Ali
10.Mohammad Amir
11.Shaheen Afridi
