Let's go out of the box :sarf2 :ma

1) Shan
2) Imam
3) Babar
4) Fakhar
5) Hafeez
6) Shadab
7) Imad
8) Faheem
9) Sarfaraz
10) Hasan - open the bowling with him
11) Shaheen

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfraz
Imad
Shadab
Hasan Ali
Shaheen
Junaid Khan

Just one change, Junaid Khan in for Amir

Really looking forward to this one it's on a Sunday! Hoping we give Shan a go in these last two games!

Realistic XI

1. Shan Masood
2. Imam Ul-Haq
3. Babar Azam
4. Mohammad Hafeez
5. Shoaib Malik
6. Imad Wasim
7. Sarfraz Ahmed
8. Shadab Khan
9. Hasan Ali
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

Obviously Imam won't be dropped after that 100 and Haris is injured so the XI in the 3rd ODI is still the best that is available to Pakistan atm.

Maybe depending on the pitch, leave out Shadab because India's leggies got demolished in the last match on this ground.

Hack will make way for Masood and that will probably be the only change.

Looking forward to South Africa wrapping up the series.

I'd have Masood for Malik but realistically won't happen. I'd also drop Fakhar down the order to maybe 4, but again I don't see it happening, and if Masood doesn't come in, it'd force someone else to open (which again won't happen).

I'd change up the order of the seniors after watching today. Malik seems to be struggling to hit, but can sort of forge an innings and still manages to rotate strike. Hence better if he plays, 5. Hafeez still struggled against the pacers early on, yet at the same time looked like the better hitter/accelerator out of the team (bar Imad today). So I think he has to do that role for the good of the team if he plays, so yeah 6. Sarfraz I'm not that hopeful at all, but his record is more decent higher up the order, and can play more the sacrifical lamb role allowing Malik, Hafeez and Imad to bat lower down the order for the good of the team. Playing down the order yet at the same time not confident enough to trust yourself to even slog down the order makes him absolutely wasted at 6. None of the seniors right now fill me with confidence especially Malik and Sarfraz, even Hafeez looks too shaky when he starts. But they're all going to play WC, and if they do, I'd rather focus on getting the best out of them collectively.

So yeah on Sunday I'd like to see realistically
1. Imam
2. Fakhar
3. Babar
4. Sarfraz
5. Malik
6. Hafeez
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Amir
11. Shaheen

5. Malik
6. Hafeez
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Amir
11. Shaheen

That's the optimal team and order ( fakhar back to form and Shan replacing imam)
Hafeez will have to start chucking when we get to the semis, so it won't quite work fully until then ( as we can not have him getting caught before then)

1.Shan Masood
2.Imam Ul Haq
3.Babar Azam
4.Fakhar Zaman
5.Mohammad Hafeez
6.Sarfraz Ahmed
7.Imad Wasim
8.Shadab Khan
9.Mohammad Amir
10.Shaheen Afridi
11.Hasan Ali

Play Shan Masood for sure, he will do better than that hack Fakhar. Shan is has a good striker rate as well (like fakhar) but is more solid.

Shan might as well get a shot for now. Other than that, everyone else has done a bit and it's a good mix. Sarfraz obviously should be replaced but that will never happen.

That is not what I want but what I expect. Plus, it is the right outcome as well. This team does not deserve to win.

In my opinion, any team that plays well on a particular day deserves to win that specific match.

27-01-2019 vs Pakistan -- ?

well result is anyone's guess !

Finally Shan Masood will be in.

Let's see the power of a list A average of 50+

Rememeber that Sharjeel also used to average 50+ in list A. Usually it does mean something.

Well let’s analyse quickly, what went wrong in the last game.

1. We should scored 340, I believe and I thought that 4 delivery faced by hassan ali could cost us the game and it did. Big tactical blunder there.

2. Why attack with amir and shaheen on slow track. Why o Why Sarfraz didnt open the bowling with imad or hafeez to buy a quick wickets. Its a tailor made pitch for spinners and he didn’t bring them on straightaway.

3. Why the team management didn’t planned for D/L method for the game.

4. Poor bowling cost Pak a potential win at centurion.

5. Imam need to improve strike rate, 100 of 120 balls nowadays is considered a poor inning we saw amla example. He is talented but he needs to try and find gaps earlier on in the powerplay. May be watch Saeed Anwar how he used to play.

6. Amir was not utilised properly, and what is this with Sarfraz keep shouting at him, it is so annoying, he wasn’t making l amir relaxed instead angry. Poor captaincy there.

7. Pakistan can win the next game, all they need to do is bowl more competitively and go for wickets and not containment. I will keep the same team, if fakhar can come good u knw.

If Shan is not in the team i will be furious.
He deserves a chance. He has seemed improved and we HAVE to try him out.

Pretty disappointed by our team.
why do they keep on selecting amir?
Should select a good pacer like Muhammad Musa (who hopefully does well in the psl).

The odds for pakistan winning the wc were 7/1 six months ago now has gone up to 11/1 by the bookies.
This shows how bad our team is performing

Amir has been extremely out of form of late.He has picked up what? 3 wickets in the last 10,11 games?.That is awful.

Out fast bowling which was something we were known for has regressed badly and we are not even in the top 3 bowling units as of now i'd venture to say.One or two performances here and there are just not good enough.
And the batting has always been a tale of woes.

Need to get a respectable combination of players before the worldcup who will not go down without a fight.

For the second time rain has prevented Pak winning the series. Pak has played well in this series and had we won the match yesterday we would have won the series. I think the shock of yesterday could demoralize Pak now. Pak do need more fast bowling options and need to invest in guys like Musa and not Shinwari. Losing Ruman was also unfortunate.

It’s J’burg & it’s a day fixture on a Sunday morning at 3am start. I hope Sarfraz wins the toss & puts SAF in. On that track, PAK batting first might not be good for spectators- people paying for ticket deserves at least 90 overs of entertainment 😜

PAK probably will drop Fakhar for Shan and I hope they don’t drop Shaheen - he deserves at least one game at J’burg.

3-1 for me - it’ll be competitive game if PAK bowls first.

They need to replace Malik. Whether that happens or not. It seems they are heavily invested in giving fakhar The slot for the World Cup. But he has looked terrible so far. I suppose they could try to rehabilitate him as a middle order player by replacing with Malik. Not sure if fakhar has the the game for that.
Having said that Pakistan did score 300 against something close to South Africa’s first choice attack. Maybe the problems are not as glaring they are being made out to be.
The one strong positive is that this series is doing the job of showing Malik the door. I am not as confident as the others about Malik being there for the World Cup

Would you be happy with Shan in the team? And do you reckon him and Imam would be Pakistans ideal openers?

fakhar averaged 50 as well in list a and we saw what he did in ct 2017

Lol at rain preventing victory..it's an excuse right out of minnows mentality book.

Apart from his CT innings he has looked like a minnow basher.

Wrong again he has scored many times against non minnows. It is true Pak is not in good state atm but no need to make things up to make the playerslook worse.

Enlighten me oh great mentality poster how Pak were not going to win after fbefore the first rain interval.
No one can predict but SA had a very good batting line up to chase 200 odd on a flat pitch. There was nothing special in this pitch. If anything rain forced SA batsmen to play under pressure of getting ahead of d/l. Pakistan's clueless skipper wasted opportunity to make use of this SA's agressive approach. Any other captain would have read this coming and would have set tight defensive field with best bowlers operating.

Dropping Imad for Shan Masood and bringing Fakhar down the order

Do you think PAK should try using Shan Masood as an opener with Imam ul Haq, and bring Fakhar down to come and slog like Shahid Afridi? This is because he is not performing whatsoever for the past few games and gets out on the short balls which Shan Masood might be able to play like he did in Tests.

Chasing with two of your best batsmen out and others not that special including Miller, they were struggling against Imax and would have also done against Shadab.

This should be the final 11 for tommorow match,

01. Shan Masood
02. Imam Ul Haq
03. Babar Azam
04. Shoaib Malik(C)
05. Mohammad Hafeez
06. Mohammad Rizwan(wk)
07. Imad Wasim
08. Shadab Khan
09. Hasan Ali
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Shaheen Afridi

Shan and rizwan need a run out in team. Batting at start of inns needs to be quicker. Bowling needs to be better with variations and bowling under pressure.

Fielding needs to improve aswell.

One change Faheem/Fakhar for Malik cos he's full of you know what.

Drop Fakhar for Shan and promote Imad up in the order, he is a genuine bat not a slogger. Get Rizwan for Malik who after two decades of playing cricket is still hopeless against pace. Rizwan can't do any worse.

Pak will field the same XI.

They are fighting for the series.

Maybe Shan comes in for Fakhar, but I doubt that.

Imad's inning was a fluke.
It won't happen again.

Match starts at 10 am local time

Scattered thunderstorms forecast around 3 pm or so. Team management and captain should beware of D/L equation
