South Africa's manager - Watsupdoc spoke to the media and confirmed the tour to New Zealand.

Watsupdoc: "Yes, indeed we are happy to confirm the tour to New Zealand. I absolutely love to visit New Zealand and I think it will be a good, challenging tour.

Yes, we indeed need to improve a lot, after we didn't to do well against India at home, but the boys are in good spirit and we are expecting a cracker of a series.

As for the squad we are still discussing the composition of the test squad, but it should be announced in a day or two."

The tour will consist of 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and a solitary T20I. South Africa will begin the tour with the first test being played at Auckland.

Interesting, you have only selected two legend players. Why is that?

Interesting, you have only selected two legend players. Why is that?

As we are allowed only two legends in the playing XI these two legends are the players that I will be playing in the playing XI so I don't really need any other legends. Plus I wanted to give the youngsters a chance. You've gone with a very strong team.

Well you never know, I thought I had pretty strong squad for test series too, but ended up losing the series. You have got a pretty good squad too.

Let's make deal. Let's only play non-legend players in the T20s?

Jimmy Neesham will start a new spell.
48.1 Jimmy Neesham to Imran Tahir, 1, 113.49kph, J Neesham cuts his fingers across this one. It curls in just off the straight. I Tahir puts bat to ball but mistimes it. Hit straight to the fielder. The batsman scamper a quick single
48.2 Jimmy Neesham to Dale Steyn, 1, 114.66kph, A hint of swing in. D Steyn plays it gently through the off side. Sloppy fielding results in an extra run
48.3 Jimmy Neesham to Imran Tahir, OUT, 114.18kph, J Neesham slows this one down. That one goes on straight. I Tahir completely mishits a cut. Oh dear, a lapse of concentration there by the batsman and it is an easy catch for K Williamson
Imran Tahir c K Williamson b J Neesham 8 (12m 14b 0x4 0x6) SR: 57.14
That's J Neesham's four-for!

What a finish! A nail-biter to the very end. Well played to both teams, but in the end, there can be only one winner. New Zealand will breathe a sigh of relief after today's match and will be hoping to be more authoritative in the next one. The bowlers were probably licking their lips when they saw the pitch today - the pitch was very sporting, to say the least. All of the disciplines benefited greatly throughout the day. These two teams were fairly evenly matched so it was tough to predict the outcome. That being said New Zealand proved to be the stronger in the end and snatched victory.
