Spectators to be allowed for PSL 11 Final showdown [Update@ Post 204]

Hundred is in August plus CPL and SL t20 is not big of issue...easily can outbid them....

Vitality Blast, MLC T20 takes place in the Summers.

There are other problems as well. Who will watch the games in the stadium from 10-11 pm at night to 4-5 am in the morning day in day out on a working day? I bet even television viewership will suffer. Also it is hot and humid in Pakistan at that time period, there is no guarantee it will be pleasant at night to play cricket.

The more we see these type of situations , the more the need of visionary Imran Khan is felt, clearly the decision to have war with AFG will have long term implications.

Bit off topic but if we jump into Iran War, then Pakistan will be a complete war-zone ,

There was a serious threat, they should have moved out maybe in South africa, or postponed it, badly managed.

How is local match day economic activity in Pakistan? Only two locations to manage, could have allowed limited spectators

As per Indian media:

The 2026 Pakistan Super League faces a significant crisis as overseas players demand "risk premium" salary hikes due to regional instability and venue reductions in Karachi and Lahore. Despite these pressures, the PCB is maintaining a strict "no salary hike" policy and considering punitive measures, including potential two-to-three-year bans and ICC intervention, for players who breach contracts to join the IPL. While the board remains focused on hosting the tournament on schedule, it faces an uphill battle as top international talent increasingly favors the financial security and stability offered by the Indian league.

What will icc do?

A Govinda, Rahul and Rajdeep sitting in Hindustan think it’s because of security reasons.

Obviously nothing to do with the major ongoing war which has led to school closures, global fuel emergency, fuel prices doubled, most flights through which foreign players were gonna come cancelled and obviously players not willing to come close to Iran.

But nah, these Rahuls and Govindas know better.

How will not having spectators in psL matches change the war situation?

It only takes one suicide bomber throwing himself at a security cordon to keep cricketers at risk.

Maybe the request for no crowds came from the international cricketers themselves.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Takes Massive Call On Players' Participation In PSL Amid Conflict In Pakistan

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) granted clearance to their players for participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 on Monday. The PSL is set to begin on 26 March, with the final on 3 May. "Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that it has maintained close coordination with the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh regarding the participation of Bangladeshi cricketers in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 tournament", BCB said in a statement. "Following consultations, it has been confirmed that there are no prevailing security or safety concerns for the players selected to represent various franchises in the competition. This conclusion has been reached based on assurances received from the Bangladesh Mission in Islamabad", it added.

"With these assurances in place, the players have travelled to Pakistan for the tournament", the statement said.

"The BCB reiterates that the well-being of its players remains its foremost priority. The Board will continue to remain in close contact with all concerned parties", it said.

PSL 2026 will be held without spectators due to the ongoing West Asia crisis. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has stated that the country's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested all of Pakistan to "restrict their movements because of the fuel crisis."

The tournament has also been reduced from six venues to just two, with all matches now scheduled in Lahore and Karachi. Additionally, the opening ceremony in Lahore has also been called off.

Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon (Lahore Qalandars), Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Tanzid Hasan Tamim (Peshawar Zalmi), and Rishad Hossain (Rawalpindi Pindiz) had earlier been granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board after being picked by franchises for the tournament, scheduled from March 26 to May 3.

Fine don't allow spectators for the first few weeks but opening ceremony to rakh le te.

Jind Jaan Asim and his servants like mohsin naqvi will destroy PCB to its core.
We are doomed and nearly becoming a same system as of hockey in pakistan
Hockey still has some chances of survival as its not yet infested with Naqvi, but not cricket , Naqvi is a bad disease and is life threatening.

On the other thread, he was claiming 70% overseas players had left. I asked him to provide the list and he couldn't reply.

Naqvi and others are playing with the security and well being of international cricketers. Just postpone the event otherwise if god forbids, anything happens, then pakistan cricket cannot take another hit of absense of international cricket in home grounds. Already we are 20 years late in home cricket as compared to other nations

Aaron Hardie to the reporters on the sidelines of their training session:

"It's a shame to have no crowd. We're certainly hopeful that as the competition goes on that we can have some crowd join us. I know as players we love having the crowd there."

"It certainly brings lots of energy to the game. But you know, we're all professionals now. So, whether there's crowd or whether there's no crowd, we still go out there tomorrow and give a hundred per cent energy, and [it] doesn't necessarily change the way that we go about things, but certainly hopefully towards the back end of the competition. It would be great to be able to see some crowds come back."

This feels like Covid era, no fans in stadium. Need to get crowds in, there’s no virus restrictions in place.

Visionary lol… reminder it was in his leadership that the tours of New Zealand and England were cancelled

Regardless, security is the real issue it seems and the fuel crisis is just a smokescreen

Maybe India are facing problems too but they are hiding it.

India lie a lot. India also seem to lie about their GDP, for example. :inti
Before the 2026 T20 WC began, this dude was full on about Nipah virus & why WC should not be held....

He even wished deaths from the virus supported by esteemed bro @Mas-LFC

& the typical gay-haan-jee mindset was in full display in the pages leading up to the WC.

Well ....

- The WC was a success both on & off the field
- a particular team won....
- a particular mindset got SnotKlapped - thanks Conrad Shukri for this addition to our collective vocab

🔥💥🙂👍🎇🥂💯🏆

That said my best wishes to PSL for holding a safe & successful tournament ✌️

Richard Gleeson thoughts on playing without Crowds in Pakistan
* "It'd be nice to have crowds, I won't lie. I've experienced the Pakistani crowds before and and they were uh really passionate and loud."
* "Without the fans that's that's half of the experience of playing. So obviously they can watch at home and but we'd love to have them back in the stadium hopefully sooner than later."
* "It's good that we we can still put on a show and and give people something to watch and get behind."
* "There's nothing better than playing in front of a packed house especially with the passion that you get over here in Pakistan."

The absence of crowds has badly diluted the fun in watching the games. Am not fully convinced that fuel, austerity was the reason behind the decisions. The franchises could have appealed and pushed fans to come via cycles, to walk to the stadium or set up a few targetted shuttle buses. Playing in front of empty stadium takes away all the fun from watching the games live.

This season needs to get curtailed, asap. It's not good for the game and the players.

PCB chief to seek PM’s nod for allowing spectators at PSL 11

In a positive development for cricket fans, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Monday said he would once again approach Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to seek approval for allowing spectators at the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches.

"I will speak again to the prime minister regarding the crowd," Naqvi told the media in Karachi, saying the PCB would make every effort to bring spectators back to the stadium.

However, the PCB chief stressed the need to consider ongoing global crisis stemming from the Middle East conflict.

His comments came days after PCB announced that PSL matches would be held without spectators as part of the government's austerity measures amid the ongoing regional crisis.

At the time, Naqvi announced limiting the tournament to two venues, Karachi and Lahore. He added that the decision aimed to reduce public movement.

The decision followed the government's wide-ranging austerity and savings plans to deal with the prevailing global fuel crisis triggered by the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict.

Later, several franchise owners called for the return of spectators, emphasising that fan presence was integral to the league’s atmosphere and identity.

They appealed to both the prime minister and the chief ministers to permit crowds in stadiums during the ongoing edition.

Meanwhile, the PCB chief lauded law enforcement agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of the PSL despite prevailing challenges.

While he announced his intention to ensure spectators' return to the stands, Naqvi ruled out any changes to the schedule.

The PCB chairman further said that franchises would receive gate money, with the board covering related expenses.

Naqvi also revealed that plans were under consideration to review and potentially rebuild the National Bank Cricket Arena to improve facilities.

Trophy Chor Mohsin Naqvi on crowds allowed in IPL but not in PSL:

"Our stance is a bit different. In India, the lines at petrol pumps are long, and there is a fuel shortage. In your country, there isn’t. In difficult times, those who reorganize themselves find things easier."

Yet another case of Lahori chooran sell to Pakistani awaam. .

BCB bars Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana from PSL 11 participation

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman will miss the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) withdrew his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) on medical grounds, officials said on Thursday.

Earlier today, Mustafiz played a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s series win over New Zealand. The left-arm pacer returned to the playing XI after missing out on the first two matches due to injury.

He made an immediate impact with the ball and took a five-wicket haul in his side’s 55-run victory.

Mustafizur Rahman was bought by the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 11 auction and represented the franchise in five matches.

In a statement released, BCB revealed the reason behind denying Mustafizur a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

“The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that, following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the team’s medical staff has reviewed the condition of national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman,” the statement read.

“It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team,” it added.

“In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026.”

BCB also confirmed that pacer Nahid Rana, who played for Peshawar Zalmi, will also not be available as the speedster will be preparing for the Test series against Pakistan.

“The BCB would also like to inform that fast bowler Nahid Rana will not be released for PSL 2026. This decision has been taken to allow him adequate time to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month,” it concluded.

All that noise when Mustafiz was released from KKR to this.

These Asian boards are all run by lunatics who should be in insane asylums instead of such powerful seats.

Now, how does this work?

When KKR kicked Fiz out, BCB made a ruckus and withdrew from the WC kicking and screaming.

Now that the BCB have withdrawn NOC, who gets to do the kicking and screaming?

Lol ab kya faida after ruining the entire league with no crowds. They should have postponed the league rather ruining the experience with zero crowds.

You won't get a response for this on Pakpassion .... :nawaz
