Did anyone watch the new episode of Spitting Image? Available on Britbox. What did you think of it?

Great memories of the show from back in the 80s, the puppets are spot on! Boris, Gove, and Patel look utterly hillarious, and Cummings is literally out of this world. Pence was perfect and of course Trump! Check out Lewis Hamilton, the guy is utterly roasted!

Writing was a bit weak, but waiting for Putin to make an entrance! Hopefully the show will get better.

In other news, there have been complaints of antisemitism after seeing Raab's puppet.

The writing in the old days was pure genius, best of British sense of humour. Im not sure foriegners will get some of the jokes.

the original was great, but i saw the trailer and the writing seemed a bit weak, also theres the fear that with reality being as bizarre as it is, it doesnt leave as much room for satire.

Yeah. Politics these days is self-parody anyway.

Watched the first episode, not very impressed. The Jacinda Ardern song missed the mark. Why is Prince Harry an Aussie? I liked their Priti Patel - a BAME woman stoking up racism and misogyny to divide us, with credible deniability.

That recent show Newzoids did it better.

Agree with this. Not a massive fan of the old show, although it was funny when it came out, but not sure this sort of stuff is appropriate any more. Comedy is becoming a dangerous arena in the woke era, just look at what happened to Apu of the Simpsons.
