What's new

Sri Lanka (140/4) defeat Bangladesh (139/5) comfortably by 6 wickets in Match 05 of Asia Cup 2025

LOL. Bail didn't get dislodged. Ball hit the stump.

I think they should change this rule. If ball hits the stump, it should be out whether bail gets dislodged or not.

Problem for BD is they didn't punish full and short balls in the PP.

PP by length

Full - 0/11 off 10 balls
Good - 2/7 off 15 balls
Short - 0/12 off 11 balls
They are used to low bounce crappy mirpur pitch where ball doesn't rise above knee. Litton is the only guy who handles short ball somewhat well.

Bangladeshifan wants a 30 over format so that it just suits Bangladesh lol I think they should consider 1 over format so that Bangladesh can be competitive.

Not even close to as consistent as Tamim. I like the look of Tanzid. If they're the best then he needs to be backed as an opener for at least a year.

Yes. Tanzid is getting backed since 2023 WC. LOL. Looks like they may continue to back him.

There is another U-19 kid. I forgot his name. He is good. I think he may make it to national team soon.

Where's that bloke. Yasir Ali. He had strong wrists and power. Saw him play a Tri Series in New Zealand and was impressive.

BD - 60/5 (11 overs).

They should aim for 90/5 in 15 overs. Try to get 50 in the last 5. That can take them to 140 (something for bowlers to work with).

I think 160 is par at this ground.

So Bangladesh play all their cricket on crap wickets and this is how they play the moment they get a decent track against a decent side?

BD - 77/5 (13.1 overs).

BD Needs to improve pitches at home to give their batters chance to express themselves instead of making Pitches like mirpur to Spring a surprise on visiting team to win a series. Series win is good but it hurts BD’s long term prospects of improving batting

BD batters hit more sixes now a days but their overall SR still low

Agree.

Anyway, they have Sylhet and Chattagong grounds where pitches are more batting-friendly. Mirpur is the most sluggish pitch in BD.

Maybe they should arrange more T20 games in Sylhet while arrange Test matches in Dhaka.

Bangladesh is a really pathetic kind of cricket team. I mean, considering the amount of viewership they have, being the 5th richest board, their performance even after playing for so many years isn’t even on the level of Steve Tikolo’s Kenya or Heath Streak’s Zimbabwe. No matter how many Julian Woods come in, they can’t teach them power hitting. Their cricket is limited to Dhaka-centric cricket clubs, and by playing only in Mirpur their stats look a little bit better.

Had Pakistan been a bit smarter they'd have won the series vs Bangladesh at home as well.

Pakistan did their homework for UAE bit didnt expect such sluggish pitches in Bangladesh.

you hardly see bowling friendly pitch in t20s In SENA especially Eng. If you look at their T20 Blast or Hundred league , Its always a run fest. Ball comes onto bat and batters hit through the line comfortably.

I think all pitches are necessary. Not all pitches are flat. For example, Sharjah has a sluggish pitch. SL have some sluggish pitches also. West Indies's Guyana has a sluggish pitch also.

Teams should practice on all pitches. But, they should play on flat pitches the most.

Jaker is using an RNS bat. I don't see these bats much anymore.

I used to have an RNS bat 20 years ago. A relative gifted it to me. :inti

You would think the commies are watching from the monitor with no sight of where the fielders are placed.

As soon as ball hits bat, they go bananas.

I miss the good old days when we used to have legendary commentators like Tony Greig, Bumble, Michael Holding etc.

Commentary quality has gone down.
