It’s a 3 way fight now. Not underrating Bangladesh but I don’t think they have it in them to win 3/4 games minimum which is needed to win the cup. I can see all 3 India, Pak, SL accomplish that target. I would expect India to be 4/4 (without arrogance, just based on the team) but never say never.

Afghan getting knocked out means it’s a 3 way fight. With the pitches I have seen so far even though India is ahead in terms of quality, the margins are lesser than they appear. If this tournament was happening in SENA or India I would say India is much more ahead but on these pitches all 3 Ind- Pak- SL have a fair shot now. Bangladesh can spoil someone’s chances though, they can give someone a huge NRR boost or hurt someone’s chances by playing well when someone is catching up. They themselves won’t go too far. I will be really surprised if they do.

I dunno, I feel India will storm into the finals quite easily. Out of the other three, anyone could qualify for the final. Though I feel it will likely be Sri Lanka or Pakistan.

Sri Lanka somehow always do well in this tournament. Even in 2022 Asia Cup nobody gave them a chance. But they beat India and Pakistan (twice); both of whom were heavily favored to win.

After getting Test status, SL used to invite Bangladesh the most.

SL coaches also did great jobs with BD players. SL players also used to play in BD domestic leagues.

In t20s it’s as they say unnees bees ka faraq between Afghan-Pak-SL. Bangladesh may be a little (not by a lot) behind.

In odis Pak is ahed but SL catching up lately and not so distant.Bangladesh and Afghan are on par.

In tests I think SL might be slightly better, Pak-Bangla are on par. Afghan is a non-entity.

They have played well in a couple of matches but they are a fairly poor T20 side too. The way they played against Hong Kong was quite shambolic to see.

Lost a T20I to Zimbabwe too right before this series.
