Sri Lanka (184/5) edge past Pakistan (178/7) by 6 runs in the sixth match of the Tri-Series in Rawalpindi

Couldve finish this match inside 18 overs if we had proper team, we are going back to 2024 wc route, stack the team with anchors and have few power hitters in lower order. Only difference this time is saim and farhan at top

Babar and Salman in a T20 batting line-up is an absolute joke in 2025.

It’s like we are going in with nine players and they are also below average in terms of quality.

Sri Lanka to thrash this garbage team in the final on Saturday.
 
Lol today match has prove one thing,l- Salman Agha career best knock is not good enough to win rhe match for Pakistan.

Can't even chase 10 runs from 7 balls. :klopp :kp
 
This is what usually happen with Pakistan in high scoring matches. They are only suitable for 150-160 type of scores. Same thing will happen with Pakistan in World Cup next year . 3 accumulators in Top 6 not going to win many high scoring matches.. only one of Babar, Agha and Usman should be in the playing 11

Salman played brilliantly for a change., and he just happens to be a Captain, wrong or right I dunno. He has justified his selection today.
 
All the top Pakistani batsmen can bat for 10-15 overs and still you can't rely on them to score big and accelerate ruthlessly at the end and take their team over the line.

One fluke innings out of a million he has not performed in.

We have two irrelevant batsmen in our batting line-up, who the likes of Ireland will not select in their team right now.

Your bobzsy scored yet another 🦆 🦆. Atleast salman Agha take the match to situations where Pakistan was in the winning position before bottling the chase in the last over.

Is that why we consistently find ourselves five down for nothing regardless of opposition?

I am calling it now, this will be one of the worst batting line-ups in the World Cup. We will crash harder than 2024, where we had only one shock defeat.

Rana is by no means a power hitter we need. i can tell you Pandya would have smoked chameera from those lengths staying deep in crease

This line up is Pathetic. We havw un relaible opener , a waste in shape of Babar at 3 and then Pedestrians all the way down
 
Good inns by Salman.

As selectors don't keep an eye (lazy gits) on PP posters livid with their selections, its a good sign that Salman made some runs.
We, the least, want their picks to become good even though we know better.

How many times in recent games he has missed straight ball for Lbw ? like a lot..

2nd Game missed straight pitched up ball from jayden Seals
3rd odi Missed Straight ball again
SA first ODI again missed a straight Arm ball from Fortuin
Against Zimb and SL twice he scored Duck and mode of Dismissal is same

Bro he commits himself to play that front foot drive for those Damn reels
 
Well at least now we have an interesting final to look forward to. SL brothers deserved the win after world class pace bowling from Chameera!

Labelling people lazy gits is not on game is about opinions if you cant hack it don't get involved with personal criticism this forum is here because of all us with various opinion

SL are themselves a mediocre team, relying on 4-5 players to do the job.

Babar and salman waste two many balls to get going in t20 you cant make up for dot balls like you can in one day cricket today salman was to slow to get going if it was not for nawaz lusty blows we would have lost with a bigger margin salman a set batsmen could not chase 10 runs in 7 balls good bowlers are not going to give you length balls so you can slog you as a batsmen need to improvise which Babar and salman can't do they look good without the killer instinct in the final over Mike Henson was shaking his head after every ball well this is your choice as a captain

No he can’t. When faced with half decent bowling, true colors of the likes of Nawaz and Faheem come out. Absolutely useless “all rounders”.

Only their bowling is not as pathetic as their batting but still mediocre.

no Nawaz has many match winning knocks under his belt even against Good teams

In 2021 Against SA at Centurion Park , Nawaz Finished the game to win series when Pak was Struggling

in 2022 he played match Winnig knock against Full Strength NZ team at their home in tri series final

Following month he played another match winning knock Against India in Dubai

This year He played match winning knock Against Lanka in Asia Cup when we were struggling at 70/5

Im sure i can name more

Nawaz is much better bat than Faheem . Period
 
Only hope we have in the t20 world cup is on three batters farhan fakhar and saim they need to fire otherwise we will face the same fate as Asia cup also if they can get hasan nawaz in some sort of form we need him badly
 
Sri Lanka edged Pakistan by six runs in a thrilling sixth match of the Tri-nation T20I series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday night, successfully defending their 184-run target.

With back-to-back victories, Sri Lanka surged back into contention and overtook Zimbabwe to book their place in the 29 November final against Pakistan at the same venue. Both finalists have one win apiece against each other in the series.

Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha led a spirited chase, registering his highest T20I score of 63 off 44 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) and his fifth career half-century. Walking in at 29-2 in the fourth over, Salman stitched crucial partnerships — 56 runs with Usman Khan and 70 runs with Mohammad Nawaz — to revive Pakistan from 43-4 in 5.2 overs.

However, their pursuit of a sixth straight T20I win was halted by Dushmantha Chameera, who delivered a match-winning final over. Named Player of the Match, Chameera returned figures of 4-20 and held his nerve to defend 10 runs, dismissing Faheem Ashraf on the penultimate ball when Pakistan needed seven off two.

Earlier, Nawaz (27 off 16, 1 four, 2 sixes) had kept Pakistan in the hunt, but fell to Eshan Malinga in the 19th over after briefly lifting hopes with a six. Usman Khan (33 off 23) had earlier holed out to Wanindu Hasaranga in the 13th over, ending a promising stand with Salman. Their dismissal left Salman and Nawaz to counterattack, adding 70 runs in just 36 balls, including a blistering 50-run burst between overs 14 and 18.

Saim Ayub provided early momentum with a brisk 27 off 18 balls (4 fours, 1 six) before falling to Malinga, who finished with 2-54 from his four overs. Maheesh Theekshana and Dasun Shanaka went wicketless.

Sri Lanka’s innings was anchored by opener Kamil Mishara, who smashed 76 off 48 balls with six fours and three sixes. After Pathum Nissanka fell cheaply to Salman Mirza in the third over, Mishara and Kusal Mendis (40 off 23, 6 fours, 1 six) added 66 runs in just 36 balls. Mendis was trapped lbw by Abrar Ahmed in the ninth over, while Saim Ayub removed Kusal Perera in the 11th.

Mishara then combined with Janith Liyanage (24* off 24) for a steady 57-run stand, before skipper Dasun Shanaka’s late cameo (17 off 10) lifted Sri Lanka to 184. Shanaka struck a six off Salman Mirza in the 19th over and added two boundaries against Mohammad Wasim Jnr in the final over.

For Pakistan, Abrar claimed two wickets, while Saim and Salman Mirza picked up one apiece.
 
İf i were to pick one player in this Pakistan team, who would hit a few out of the park in 3 out of 5 matches, it would be M.Nawaz in his current form.

Fakhar has become way too inconsistent from one match to the next, can hit, sure but you never can rely on him anymore.

Saim, for some reason, finds the pressure in t20, to be explosive opener hard to handle. İt's fine for him in Odi where he might even play with t20 strike rate but only with no pressure to do it. Needs a good sports psychologist, like many others.

Sahibzada Farhan, actually is also getting better and more reliable, so can't complain.

The rest are garbage, simply put, with our Ghantay ka king the most damaging to the team.

Totally agree.

The fact Nawaz bats higher than Faheem, means he is sought after more ability wise.

Faheem can do a similar job but I just get the feeling sometimes that he is too hesitant, like something is holding him back from totally unleashing.

I think I saw his best inns ever in 2017 warm up.against Bangladesh LIVE at the ground and we thought he was the next Abdul Razzaq.

A modern T20 batsman should have the answers to fully blooded block yorkers i.e. walk down the track to convert to full toss, glide the ball behind the keeper, ramp shot. Pakistani batsmen still deal with the yorkers as if its the 90's i.e. cross bat slog towards mid on, midwicket where the opposition has fielders ready.

Absolutely agree they need to practice these shots you can't slog yorkers a modern t20 batsmen needs to be versatile not one trick pony

Saim: We don't see any match as big or small. The coach told us today that even though we are in the final, we should focus only on the game we are playing. This match was as important as the final will be. We can’t know the future. But our top batters scored well in the last three games. Sometimes mistakes happen, but we are sticking to our plan. It was good that we got so close to winning, even after losing quick wickets early on. The Sri Lankan bowler deserves credit for bowling well at the end. But the team's spirit is high, and I think we will win the final.

Reporter: You've made 82 runs in four matches with a strike rate of 117. Are you worried about your batting form? What do you and Sahibzada Farhan plan to do in the final?

Saim: My one goal is to win the final. I want to help the team win by playing a long, high-scoring innings.

Saim: I don't know what will happen tomorrow. I only think about today and what I must do right now. I am giving 100% effort to my game and my team today. I don't worry about tomorrow. Reporter: You started strong in the last match and today too. Last time you batted with Sahibzada Farhan and Babar; today, you started well. Then, Salman Ali Agha played great. I believe Babar and Salman Ali Agha are the players who hold the innings together (the anchor role). How do you feel about the team right now? How ready are you for the World Cup? We know the final is important, but you said the World Cup is your main goal. How ready are you, and how strong does the whole team look?

Saim: As a team, if you look at batting, bowling, and fielding, we have been getting better over the last few months, thankfully. Our team's performance is improving, and we are winning more often. Besides winning, the improvements we show—which the coach points out after every match—in how we perform our skills are constantly increasing. Also, we are all working together very well. So, we have very high expectations, we trust each other a lot, and we are hopeful that this team will succeed, God willing.
 
I’m not sure what Saim is smoking, but it must be legit good stuff.

How can you say we are improving when we are making the exact same mistakes as a batting unit day-in, day-out?

The bowling is keeping these loser batters’ careers alive, or they wouldn’t be surviving at international level with this talent.
 
Salman Ali Agha at the post-match presentation:

"Yeah, coming from 40/4, you don’t usually chase 180, but we still had a chance — we just couldn’t finish the game. I think it was a good wicket, and with the dew coming in, we had an opportunity but couldn’t complete the job.In the T20 format, if you don’t start well with either bat or ball, you’re going to lose more often than not. I would have loved it even more if we had finished the game."
 
No team goes down 3-4 wickets in the power play like this team does. Stacked with accumulators with mediocre SR and will still be falling apart.

Thought Babar getting his century might help him get the monkey off his back but he remains as mediocre as ever.
 
The most stupid thing in this setup is the batting order and then selection. We all agreed that Salman+Babar can't be in T20 squad. At least, the idiots should get order right. They must bring back Fakhar, Farhan to open. Experiment Nawaz @ 3. Babar @4 unfortunately. Saim @5. Salman @6 unfortunately. 7 Usman unfortunately. 8 Faheem. Then bowlers
 
Usman's wicket changed the game... That was a pathetic shot to get out.... Salman played a career-saving knock maybe... Nawaz was brilliant with the bat again... Some positives of many negatives.

Farhan's failure, babar's anda, Saim not being able to score big once again, Fakhar's failure... What else can we say here
