In qualitative terms, I believe Australian win demanded perfornance and skill-set of high magnitude on field.

There is definitely an argument for rewarding away wins.

However I don't mind SL getting 60 points and AUS 24 because Australia have "more bites of the cherry" to win more points if that makes sense as they're playing a 5 match series.

Obviously this is the first WTC and I expect some tweaks in future editions, but I'd prefer points being awarded based on series not matches. It'd just simplify the points system for everyone.

Every team will get equal series at home, so whats wrong in that.

If winning away is considered great than losing at home should be considered dreadful.
A strong team should be invincible in home conditions.

SL have always been a very humble and hardworking team.

I still think that SL has got works to do in ODI format. But, they seem to be fine in Test.

Yep.. SL need Babar Azam type batsman in ODI/T20 formats, someone who can hold innings together while power hitters like Avishka Fernando , Kusal Perera , Dasun Shanaka wreak havoc..

What rise? Historically and overall they were always way above teams like Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are arguably even on par with India in their achievements.

What India can't do in RSA in all these years, Sri Lanka did that in just few years of Cricket.

That was fluke. South Africa lost that series due to taking them lightly. India are miles ahead of SL; Pakistan also are better than SL currently.

The reason why I used the word "rise" was because SL had a horrible period in ODI between 2016 and 2018. They lost to Zimbabwe 2-3 at home and got knocked out embarrassingly from Asia Cup (lost to both BD and Afghanistan).

SL need to stop politics and they should become force again.

Too good in the end and deserving winners.

Our batting needs to improve, our tailenders towards the end showed it wasn't tough to score just needed to be patient.

SL did the same in the 4th innings after seeing our tailenders score the majority of our runs.

Every team will have ups and down, Aus at one point was just barely above BD in ODI rankings.

Sri Lanka has won World Cup, WC runners up couple of times, won T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy. Recently they swept Pak and RSA in away tests.

Sri Lanka is a tiny country with fractional population. Yet their achievements in Cricket far outweighs neighboring countries who has gazillions populations.
