Starting in under an hour. Should be a good series. Hopefully the :fizz returns for Bangladesh. Mushfiqur to give up the gloves and play as a batsman finally. Liton Das returns to the side as keeper.
 
Sri Lanka is still favourites, Herath alone has more experience than entire BDesh side combined. SL has humiliated a full power Australia last year which even India can't do atm
 
This is a flat wicket. Last time BD played here they scored 700 something I think.

500+ easily and then herath can do his magic

So far Bangladesh is playing far better than what Australia played here. If Bangladesh can take 100+ lead they have good chance to win this test
 
Looks like they have laid out a road. Not the typical Galle wicket. Poor stuff.

Very negative tactics.

This was supposed to be an exciting test series between two improving and evenly matched sides
 
Poor stuff from Sri Lanka for not producing a sporting wicket. Now Bangladesh's bowling effort looks somewhat decent having managed to kept SL under 500 batting first. That wicket of Mendis off the no-ball proved to be very costly for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh should look to score quickly and keep chances of a result alive here especially if the pitch starts turning.
 
Looks like Sri Lanka is scared to loose a test series that's why instead of make sporting/turning pitch they made flat pitch. Poor stuff.
 
Regardless of pitch this has been a superb reply from Desh so far... not easy to score facing a deficit of almost 500 runs.
 
One thing I feel about the subcontinent Is that toss plays a huge role especially on batting friendly conditions

Batting 2nd means you will bat in the 4th innings when the wicket really detoriates.
 
I felt Soumya is a hack but he is doing fine in tests. Impressive

Disappointed by Sri Lanka's cowardice here, Galle is usually an excellent wicket conducive to entertaining and result-orientated Test cricket. But this is a road. Did they think rolling out a normal turner would bring the BD spinners into it ?

Not taking anything away from BD, good batting effort so far in response to an imposing total.
 
Our batsman guilty of giving their wickets away but all were really soft dismissals. Tamim ran himself out like a clown
 
In this wicket once you settle only you can get yourself out. Flat wicket but we lost a wicket too many for my liking. Still a lot of cricket left hope our seniors put their hands up.

too early to judge a pitch it is always wise to predict after both side bat on that wicket Srilanka have out

bowled bangladesh and are in commanding position .What a performance on a ""Flat wicket""

Miraz will overtake Shakib. Miraz is more technically correct, an agile player and extremely matured. The closest thing to the prodigious cricket we were looking for to turn our tables.

I hope he keeps on improving because international cricket is ruthless especially when you play for a side that struggles to win

amazing consistency from mushfiq..one of the best batting keeper in tsts..do u think he should bat up the order??

He is already at no. 4 but he can make a case for no. 3 and mominul can bat lower

Seniority matters in the team. For some reason however our seniors aren't playing with maturity. It's not that they are substandard but at their peak you expect more responsibility.

Has given up his gloves just recently. But yes he has been one of the best keeper batsmen in the world in the last 3 years considering ODIs and T20s. Probably 2nd best after de kock. All that hate and he keeps on performing
 
Very good and compact player. Very good to watch as well. Plays sweep against spin beautifully, good inside out shots over extra cover as well.

We have a tailender playing as keeper batsman

Bangla batsman has flair in their batting but too flashy in test cricket.

Our batting line-up is not correct - 4 lefti out of top 5 is a sitting duck against finger spinners. If they drop Mahmood for Kayes, it can be 5 lefti in top 6.

We need to change batting order to put a right hander as Tamim's partner or at least at 3. May be, they should recall Tushar (Imran), who is in his form of life.

You're ranked ranked 8th in ODI now, you was 9th not so long ago for a while. Lost to the former minnow ODI minnow BD 3-0 with ultra ease, former ODI Minnow BD won 3 convincing ODI series straight up against 1 poor odi side but two high end ODI sides from the top 8, in 2015, to replace you in the ranks. So yes, indeed in ODI's indeed you are a minnow now, face it, Good luck for the WC qualifications. :)

I am talking about Tests. As this is a thread about Tests. You people were jumping up and down after beating England a single Test match.

As for ODIs, we have lost one series against BD in our history. You failed to even win a SINGLE limited overs game against NZ, we atleast managed to one against Australia and also 2 against NZ the last time we were there.

India didn't really push themselves against BD. We probably saved our energies for this intense Aus series.

Tbh, we should have used BD series to give Iyer and other Ranji top performers a shot. We still would have end up winning it anyway.

Cos our pitch was WAY more patta.

Check the first innings score of SL and India.

We scored 687/6 at 4 rpo.

Bangladesh scored 388 bcos they were reckless.
 
BD is playing test cricket for only 17 years, give them 15-20 years more, I'm sure they will win a test or two by then.

They are not Pakistan or SL who were test match ready when were given the status.

They have only played a 100 tests, cut them some slack. I am sure they'll do better by the time they play 1000 test
