Pakistan will play three ODIs against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 11 to 15 November, the PCB confirmed today. In addition to the ODI series, Sri Lanka, as earlier announced, will feature in a T20I tri-series from 17 to 29 November, with Afghanistan the third team to take part.

This will be Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI series in Pakistan since 2019, when they last visited for a three-match series that Sarfaraz Ahmed’s-led side won 2-0, with the first ODI in Karachi abandoned due to rain. Sri Lanka’s most recent visit to Pakistan came in 2023, when they participated in the ACC Asia Cup and played against Afghanistan in Lahore.

Following today’s announcement, Pakistan will host two ICC World Test Championship matches against South Africa and six white-ball games from 12 October to 8 November. With the addition of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Pakistan will also host their maiden T20I tri-series from 17 to 29 November.

Excellent home schedule btw

Hope they'll have plenty of pitches prepared. Don't want to be playing too much white-ball cricket on tired, slow, overused surfaces.

This should be a great tour. Looking forward to it.

Pakistan are favorites due to home advantage and also they are slightly better than SL.

2 tests in the whole season. How can you expect to get better when you don't even want to give yourself the chance to? Seems PCB are content with the team remaining rubbish. Also, chedule is overstuffed with T20Is.

Good to see there are basically 6 ODI's on the trot to really let the ODI players play an extended amount of ODI's and get used to it. Feels like nowadays there are just odd series here and there with huge gaps.

I don't think Pakistan have played SL in a bi-lateral white ball series since like 2019. Funny enough, they were white washed 3-0 in T20's by a side that was considered "second string" but went on to be their core players like Hasaranga. Hasaranga has been torturing Pakistan since. I don't think they have beat them in any T20 match since. In fairness, it's only 5 T20's in a row but still, it will be a redemption series for Pakistan. That side keeps beating them and cost them an Asia Cup trophy.

I am guessing it's too hot in Multan in Oct/November otherwise, I am not sure they didn't get any games. Zero surprise Karachi didn't get any games.

T20 Overkill.

3 tests vs RSA and either no ODIs or no T20Is would have been better.

In this era no t20's isn't possible.
Agreed. T20Is arguably more relevant in Winter, considering the WC next Feb. I would have omitted the ODIs.

Need to start playing more test matches now. Interest will come, and we will see better crowds once we start performing against the top teams in this format

AS PER REPORTS:

Sri Lanka Cricket’s security delegation has arrived in Pakistan to inspect venues ahead of the upcoming white-ball tour. Over the next few days, they will assess facilities in Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi — including stadiums, team hotels, and transport arrangements.

Local authorities and security agencies are presenting detailed briefings to ensure all safety protocols meet international standards.

Sri Lanka name squads for Pakistan and Zimbabwe assignments

Pakistan’s Ali Naqvi will officiate the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka as match referee. The series will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 11 to 15 November.

England’s Alexander Wharf, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, will stand as on-field umpire for the first ODI alongside Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob (ICC Emerging Panel of Umpires). Bangladesh’s Saikat Sharfuddoula, also part of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, will be the third umpire, while Rashid Riaz (ICC International Panel of Umpires) will serve as the fourth umpire.

For the second ODI on 13 November, Saikat Sharfuddoula will be joined by Faisal Afridi (ICC International Panel of Umpires) as on-field umpires. Alexander Wharf will act as third umpire, while Asif Yaqoob will perform duties of fourth umpire.

The third ODI on 15 November will see Alexander Wharf and Rashid Riaz officiating as on-field umpires, with Saikat Sharfuddoula and Faisal Afridi serving as third and fourth umpires, respectively.

Well sri lanka is really excting in shoter formats will be a brilliant series to play with them.
Tests are the only bilateral format that has any value. The other 2 formats have no bilateral value and as soon as they are played, they are forgotten

Alhamdolillah, another T20 series where we have avoided the man who completely unbalances Pakistan white ball cricket!

Why PCB hold matches in single ground why not distribute them.

1 pindi
1 lahore
1 multan
1 faislabad

I hope not. It will be too much if Sachin loses the world record for most centuries against Zimbabwe :sachin
Forget about SRT because He has scored most international century against mighty Australia . Ye babar ke level ki bat ni hai.

Can babar score a century against Zimbabwe? This is my question.

:kp

T20I line up:

1. Sahibzada Farhan
2. Saim Ayub
3. Usman Khan (WK)
4. Agha Ali Salman (C)
5. Abdul Samad
6. Mohammad Nawaz
7. Faheem Ashraf
8. Mohammad Wasim Jnr
9. Shaheen Shah Afridi
10. Salman Mirza
11. Abrar Ahmed

We need to give Samad a chance & definitely a lengthy one at that, just like Hasan Nawaz deserved.

There will never be a quick fix when it comes to Pakistan teams or selections. Patience will be needed. Hopefully Samad can show something. Would have loved Sufiyaan, Abbas Afridi, Hassan Nawaz in this squad. Babar & Naseem have nothing to prove. We know how "good" they are in T20.

Good XI.

I think Abbas Afridi should be in the T20 side. Also, Agha should be gone from the T20 team maybe.
