SL should just forfeit games against India, it always gets real ugly for them :(
 
Ganguly decided to sit and watch the match in crowds and getting bombarded with fans

But they also didnt play 2 spinners.Only Mushtaq IIRC

Also ODI game has changed a lot since then

I remember in 2000, we had only Sachin and Ganguly as our best bats like Sanga and Jaya are now. We didnt hide them in the middle order. We played them upfront. We got beaten quite a bit but we also won a lot with that combo.

Why Dilshan at 4?IMO He should open with Mahela

LOL you dont know the real Binny. I do. Aus wickets offer a little help but they become batting paradises after 20 overs. India needs to play 3 seamers, Ashwin, one of Jadeja/Patel. Binny belongs in the binny :D.
 
To win the WC you need quality fast bowlers and atleast 3 top world class batsman not to mention an astute captain

True but they had such depth in their bowling and Mushy is much better than our Ashwin. Lets keep it real here Binny is no Faulkner who can take wickets in Aussie conditions where the phainta starts after 20 overs. And our main competitors there will be teams like Aus/SA/Pak who will not like spin as much as they like our trundler extraordinaire Binny :))

Dilshan has lost his mojo. He is getting old and he is not of the same caliber like Sanga who can play even after his prime. He is a poor man's Sehwag and like Sehwag his time has expired. I was being nice when I said he should play at 4. He should retire seriously.

Both Ashwin and Jaddu have been very poor in SA/NZ/Aus.Only leggies get some help in Aus.

Tharanga is better than Binny. But binny is an all rounder. Tharanga had like 6 ODI centuries by the time he was 21. Couple of em were in England and 1 was in New Zealand. Helped chased target of 300, in 30 overs in England along with Sanath. But the guy doesn't learn from his mistakes.
 
Even with all this bamboozling batting i can't see India retaining their World title their pace attack is inexperienced and mediocre or should they call back the veterans like
Praveen Kumar RP Singh Aashish Nehra and Munaf Patel #QualityQuartet

Tough for India. Karn wouldn't be useful, doesn't turn much, batsmen will come down and murder him. Mishra is the only leg break candidate but we know his consistency

IIRC he is also aging like the rest. You have an epidemic and its destroying batters. I dont know what it is. Perera is hte best young opener you've got. Atleast he gives it all. I saw his fielding. Even when India are piling on the runs he was diving to stop the ball. That shows commitment.

I will take Mishra ahead of Ashwin. How did I forget him. He is a touch and go. He either destroys the opposition or he destroys his own team. But its worth the risk IMO.

Yeah that is some veterans we got there :)) It will be the second time Ind had a spinning quartet.
 
Problem with Karn sharma is that he doesn't turn big. When you don't turn big, if batsmen come down you won't beat them with your turn and get the stumped out.

Angelo Perera and Vithanage would have destroyed fast bowlers on this pitch......or maybe not.
 
Just turned on my tv and i am not tat bit surprised.It was bound to happen in one of the games.

But,scoring 264 is simply lunacy! only fell short of A.Brown's 268 i guess.
 
SL lost am away ODI series to India 4-1 in 2007...........month later eliminated India out of WC:srt

Not so sure about Angelo Perera but Kithruwan would have been a great choice here.

Flat pitch+retarded bowlers+fast outfield+Trundlers = Heaven. Not surprised, did you see how Dhawan, Rehane and Briyani man were doing ?

I think SL players got too excited on playing Indian flat pitches and played retarded shots. Mathews and Thirimanne are playing like they are uninterested in the game and the score is going pretty well.

A.Perera looks like he has some nervous issues. Only seen him play couple of matches during SLPL. Vithanage needs to be given a long run. He has an alpha male traits, we need players like that. We are done with choir boys, church boys, lawyers, farmers and fishermen.

Patel is doing better than Karn but bowling looking clueless except for Umesh.

Patel is defn better than Jaddu or Karn uses his brain and has that bounce.

If Patel manages to get 2 more wickets he should be nominated for MoS award esp coz of highways.
