we are getting to see two things here.

the importance of batting at a brisk pace. sl are 4 down but still have scored at a healthy rate. 84 in just 18 overs is good rate. imagine if they had tuk tuked after the loss of first two wickets..they would have been 40-4 this time

second thing is the importance of getting wickets at regular intervals. pakistan are just a wicket or two away from running over them.

That's aggressive from him. He knows he can take wickets early on from Irfan. And that leg-slip tells you he wants wickets, so no point of "defensive captaincy". Irfan is very ordinary in death overs.
