SL pacers bowling a good length with new ball, we're doing the right thing here by being patient. No need to slash outside off stump.

We have to see off new ball. If SL had these tactics yesterday, we would have never reached 230 by end of the day.

Mathew is doing this because he is banking on weather to help out.

Rushing right now can be sucidal.

Just hope Younis doesn't do anything rash because scoreboard isn't moving at the other end. Both players have the right strategies, as long as they are in sync.

Funny how you all go crazy over Shehzad being not so good at strike rotation, but nothing on Misbah.

Because Misbah hardly throws his wicket away. Makes it count on most occasions.

Misbah's playing out the new ball with as little risk as he can. Making the job for himself and batsmen to come easier.

It's the new ball plus he is out of form. I dont care if he scores 20 off 200 balls. As long as he is out there we have a strong chance of chasing this

Yes but rather then manufacturing a shot, they should hit the bad balls. & Misbah has been fed quite a few.
 
Strange that Paul Went onto favour us which he most of the time doesn't.
 
Really to me that's out. I don't understand why these rules of "impact inline" and "ball can't pitch outside leg". I really don't get why.
 
Misbah probably 'll cost YK's wicket.

YK is someone who doesn't take pressure & that's why he has only 1-2 scores in 90s, he 'll play his natural game - the way Misbah is simply shutting score, I am sure YK 'll try to go for shots just to make up. Ideally, at this point, YK should play to survive till 8 down while Misbah should take the risk. May be he isn't fit enough, but then, he should have sent Asad ahead.

There are hardly bad balls or hit me balls.

In test cricket wide margin is twice as much. You can bowl all day yard outside the off, never given wide, same is true for leg side. They are doing lot more today. Batsman has to take risk, not to mention its 5th day wicket.

Asad isnt fully fit as well.
 
What's with all the crying about a bit of tuk tuk against the new ball? It's like none of you have watched cricket before.
 
Good patient approach by Misbah especially! At least YK is looking for runs which is good to see!

Will the umpire ask them not to bowl negative lines.
 
It's still a marathon effort till we get below 20/30 then they will loose hope and probably give up.

Umpire's call refers to the ball clipping the wicket in hawk eye. And hawk eye is only a mere prediction of how the ball would've gone.

This isn't football where you can simply check if part of the ball has crossed the goal line and you declare it a goal. There are many factors that come in to play with hawk eye and maybe thats why there's an "umpires call" for a reason

Watch it. Hundreds of posters to come at you saying 'you shouldn't watch test cricket' 'stick to t20's 'Misbah needs to see off new ball'
 
Today there have being 2 wides, which is very rare in test cricket.

This is hard to watch.
I still don't think we are comfortable.
This partnership needs to take it deep.
 
There is this little period with the ball...there will be anxious moments...if Pakistan grind their way through it, then the rest should take care of itself

YK must attack after 50 runs are required to win! And finish it off quickly then! Misbah must continue his anchor role till at least 20 runs are required to win!
 
300/3 - marvellous effort.

YK can probably get a double ton with Misbah at the other end :)
 
The only time the bowlers have looked remotely threatening during all five days of the test have been with the new ball.

It's not difficult to understand why playing very safe is the way to go for 10-15 overs. Even then they've gone at 2.9 RPO for the last 10 overs, partnership is 3.17 RPO.

This is how you win matches.
