He cannot survive long of he plays defense. That does not seem to be his game. His natural game is attack.

Moeen should start playing for Pakistan. He'll go down in history as a WC winner and we can finally get rid of Hafeez or Afridi.
Looks like its Moeen v SL here! Hes going to have to win this game single handly!
Why england dropped hales? Am sorry but cook needs to go! england making a pigs ear of things making him captain!
Moen shoud pull a Rohit here.
ROhit was given a life early on and he went on to make a double.
Moen got the start like Rohit did. We will see if Moen can score a big century.
Moeen isn't batting with Indian batsmen, nor is this pitch that easy to bat on.

Even in that match outside of ROhit and to some extent Kohli, everyone struggled to time the ball.
Moen should capitalize and smack Lankan trundlers. There is no spin in the pitch, bounce is even too. A bit on the slow side, but it is still good batting conditions.
what a shot! incredible! Moeen playing like Lara and Anwar
Indian and Pakistani against 11 Lankans.
Anwar's flick looked even more effortless and smooth.

Are you a hater or something? Give the guy some credit.
Moen is playing a Gem here. But lets not get carried away.
Being an Indian I know how Anwar tortured us in 90's with those flicks off Prasad and Srinath. Every time he flicked the ball sailed over the boundary rope. It was all timing. No effort.
Bopara will choke as usual.
Commies are saying its a good opportunity for him to prove himself. Lets see.
LOL!
What a way to go after a brilliant innings. England still have a chance, they have two all-rounders out in the middle and the RR isn't too high.
First time in a very very long while that we've seen a team chase with the attitude that they will keep hitting no matter and let the wickets take care of themselves. I am a huge fan of what they are doing.
I wouldn't boil this down to Moeen having a great day, they were all going this way and if on another day someone might. Normally, people don't really have the 'licence' to bat like England do, but this is still correct. Under their old approach they were losing wickets, but had no good run rate to make up. This approach gives all their batters a chance to win the game (as opposed to with slow batting and it's done by the time you're 90/3 after 22 overs).
90 from 78 balls . Need a big over here.
Stokes looks pathetic.
England can stil win this if they do not lose any wicket for another 40 runs.
