England won the toss and are batting.

Hoping for a similar innings of the First ODI from Moeen Ali...Top innings that.

Moeen Ali got carried away. Still, England have a very exciting prospect in him.

vuvuzela should be banned. Do not know why they were banned for only one series.

Kusal Perera caught up with Fathews who was chasing the ball feet away and saved a boundary.

P.S Kusal looks like an 80's brown rockstar :113::125:

What kind of 25 year old "all rounder" doesn't dive to take a catch ?

Options
A.) Thisara Perera
B.) Thisara Perera
C.) Thisara Perera
D.) ALL OF THE ABOVE

Poms need to get a partnership here , need to get a total they can give there bowlers a chance

No more military guarding cricket stadiums. The police are guarding the game today. The police are enjoying the free game

Lot of English crowds. Remember the Galle test couple of years ago when there were more English fans than SL fans. Felt like a colonial invasion 2.0 :mv

Mendis with another mystery delivery. Only if you could bowl all of them at the right length:inti

Only ball that that Mendis flights is his Googly and he only flights his Googly

Oh blimey, are England playing a JAMODI today? I had no idea that they were even in SL.

Watching England play ODIs is such a painful experience. Atleast KP enlivened things up. Where is Hales? With Morgan out of form, folks like Bopara, Root and Cook can really make one question whether he has got ADHD.

Yeah. It's difficult to feel motivated as an England fan because their batting strategy is so obviously wrong. Even KP did nothing in his last two years of ODIs. They have no chance in the WC. I'd rather forget the whole thing and wait until the Ashes in June 2015.

It's a catch-22 situation. Because England are so boring in ODIs due to selecting players on basis of Ashes exploits, fans don't wanna watch them. Because fans don't wanna watch the ODIs, selectors pick bits-and-pieces drivel for ODIs and focus only on Ashes.

Someone somewhere has to put his foot down and claim authority. It must eat away at atleast a particular section of fans to have never won the WC. I mean you folks invented the game and even the format. Atleast should have won one if not more.

Hales, Vince/Bell, Taylor, Morgan, Buttler, Moeen, Bopara, Broad, Tredwell, Finn, Anderson/Gurney

Decent side, watchable too. Not world beaters but you can build with this. Gonna go nowhere with Cook and Bell in the same side at 1 and 3.

We could have won in 1987 and 1992, but lost both the tosses. The first five WC finals were won by the side which won the toss. Though we only got into the 1992 final because SA were robbed in the semi by a ridiculous Duckbill Platypus ruling.

It's not that big a deal to some the players. Botham and Gower couldn't even be bothered to turn up in 1987.

I blame the selectors - Cook and Bell should not be in the ODI side these days, though Cook can say that England were briefly #1 ODI team under his captaincy. I'd give the captaincy to Morgan, and go with the side you suggest.
