So disappointing from YK, getting out to a trundler, YK is such a poor starter and awful against pace.

That's a big setback, Younus never really looked comfortable

PAK is getting into the trap - just blocking 'll not help. it's effectively 30/3 & PAK needs another 150, at least. 2nd new ball is 9 overs away - unless the scoring rate improves, SRL 'll hunt one by one with the score board stagnant.

And we are taking him to ENG, NZ and AUS

Remember he made a full of himself in WC against Shami!!

Pakistan is making a big gamble by not introducing a batsman right now.

They got this!
Relax. If they go all guns blazing, the whole batting will collapse within 15-20 overs.

It's Azhar Ali and Misbah on the crease. This may turn into somewhat of a snoozefest.

How I wished Younis scored a century here...

If you really wanna torture someone mentally, Just get him infront of TV when AA and Misbah are batting together!

Sun is not coming out as well, its not easy to score. Right now we are going back to survival mode. But good thing is they only have to see of Prasad, Mathew can be targeted with new ball... Chamera is not 100%... Another 30-40 runs before new ball are possible.

But its going to be grinding effort in this session. Next session could be much easier. But we have to be there to cash it

So practically its 31/4 with Wahab not playing, these two aren't helping the cause by constantly blocking and not upping the anti thereby getting SL underpressure, scoreboard has become stagnant and Pakistan is going no where.

But on cricinfo, it says 7 wickets remaining.
Anyways, wahab wasn't gonna score a century anyways.

Huh? Partnership run rate is 3.55 which is the fastest partnership of the innings so far.

Where was the crying about tuk tuk when Shezhad and Ali went at 2.72 an over?

Oh yeah, Misbah and Azhar are batting so they MUST be batting slower than everyone else.

Now's not the time for rush. That comes later. immortal112.gif

Good turn around by Misbah - he is trying to do what is required, that is try to dominate & score so that the bowling side is down. I do believe that the WC match against SAF has changed the strategic intent of Misbah.

Not the worst idea i guess and worth a thought on CI by Eswat Ahmed: "Misbah should send Sarfaraz ahead of Asad Shafiq to boost things up for Pakistan. While Asad should be held back in case things go awry. This can be a gamble but could work for Pak in a great way."

That was the need of the hour with Pakistan lagging behind and rear guard action was needed, now its time to up the ante and score quickly to extend the lead, having said that good to see some ungency from Misbah.

Or we could just bat normally for the rest of the day and have a 250+ lead with a day to go?

Pakistan need to be positive and look for runs , getting bogged down will play into lanka hands

No. Just no. Why would you do that? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Shafiq is a brilliant No.6 batsman. Why change anything?

What Jones is talking about, Wahab is not going to bowl. Can he bowl?

rofl, they came together with a massive 25 run lead and the most pressing worry is the run rate with two whole days to go? :))

I'll have some of what you're smoking.

Lol chill guys, there's 5 whole sessions left in the game.

Just play normally, no need to do anything special.

Completely agree with Big Mac.

Just two overs before these two put complete brakes on the scoring rate for atleast 10 overs because of new ball

Angelo should step down from Test Captaincy - he doesn't like to lead this format. In such a tight match with 177 lead, he put a Long-on & Long-off after 50 runs partnership on Day 3.

So in a pitch like this one ball will misbehave and will do something extra and will have your number so in the end runs will matter most because there is still lot of time left in test and draw is not an option, remember last time we batted i guess 4 sessions or more but batted really slowly and that's why still lost the match, had we score a little quicker we would defo have atleast drew that match, so in situation like this just to survive without scoring runs is to no avail.

But they are scoring runs though?

If they want to make a match out of this and get a shot at winning series, they need to score quickly NOW.

We have to get through the next 12-15 overs without losing a wicket or we are boned.

There's something called punctuations... just saying.

Pathetic cricket by Pakistan..just showing minnow mentality. 26 runs in last 10 overs it's just dull batting. They are already looking for a draw instead of playing positive cricket and look for an outcome.

Seriously, what are you on?

A) We are 1-0 up, I think we already have a pretty good shot of winning the series

B) There are 76 overs left today, even if we tuk tuk along at 2 rpo that leaves Sri Lanka having to score 200 on the fifth day on a pitch that is finally starting to misbehave a tiny bit.

gonna pull an all nighter today and watch till sehri

specially took a night nap so hopefully good day of cricket. FOR US!!

Misbah is just showing how he can never be a match winner. He just doesn't have it in him to play those special innings.

Just getting stuck being there on pitch doesn't mean anything, they need to count their stay by scoring runs which they're not doing at the moment.

Honestly, some of you.

I'm probably the youngest one in this thread and I understand and enjoy Test cricket more than some of you!
