Srikar Bharat plays as a wicket-keeper batter for the Indian cricket team , Andhra in domestic cricket and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. In February 2023, he made his Test debut for India against Australia. In February 2015, he became the first wicket-keeper batter to score a triple hundred in the Ranji Trophy.







What is he doing in this test team? Why does the Indian management keep picking him?
Are there no better keeper bats in the entire country? He is a walking wicket

This guy doesn't deserve a dedicated thread. Biased regional quota pick. One of the worst ever to represent India. Back in the days Parthiv patel was a nightmare. But he could atleast open the innings and score some runs. This guy is useless in everything he does.

There are quite a few of them but India is giving S Bharat a chance due to seniority I think. He isn't the most reliable batter and with India's tail, they cannot afford a keeper like him in the playing XI. There is even Pradosh Paul who scored 163 in SA recently with the A team and averages 66 in FC. Obviously once Pant is fit, he is going to comeback to take his spot in XI.

So, I am not sure whether it is worthwhile and makes sense to keep investing in KS Bharat. He's also not 20 years old, and India had moved on from KS Bharat and gone to Ishan Kishan. So, he's done just enough to maybe keep his place in the side. This team management believes in being fair to every individual, but I would personally look at another option before Rishabh Pant comes in and takes his place."

"India will start looking at KS Bharat, considering whether his keeping is good enough that we can afford to have somebody who is not contributing as much with the bat. India, of late and the world over, if you see, is going for keepers who are decent good keepers but contribute with the bat. I mean, look at Rishabh Pant in the last 3-4 years; his contribution with the bat. So, those are things that India will have to look at."

The man is an average Keeper and a below average batsman. Anything he scores with the bat is a bonus for the team. India are back to Kiran More and Nayan Mongia days when a keeper is not expected to do anything with the bat.

Samson is 10 times the player that Bharat can ever become. Its unfortunate that he did not get a chance in Tests when Rahul and Kishan are not available.

Dravid obviously has some favorites and he does not seem to like T20 dashers for Tests.

Im saying he has been sufficiently tested and he failed.
If Karun Nair was dropped after 6 tests only, why is this bloke still in the team with horrible performances despite playing in India.

Ksbharat is the worst kepper I have seen platmy for Ind in a very loooong time.. some here.co.pares him to nayan mongia.. no comparison honestly. Mongia atleast was a very good keeper and a pretty decent bat for his era - issue was his fixing tendencies. But no one that i remember has ever been this bad. Totally useless. Missed catches and stumpings and that happens yes - but even his regular takes are so clumsy and doesnt take them cleanly. Ind has so many options than him. Time to drop him for good and get Jurel in for 3rd test.

The worst keeper i have seen in my lifetime is kamran akmal. Cant believe that bloke played so many games for pak. Dropped a catch or stumping "every" pak match that i watched casually and I am not joking at all. Many times it was multiple missed catches every game. He lost pak so many games with his atrocious keeping.
