Just shows a part of big picture.
Better criteria should be, how many times/innings player contributed or failed to contribute.

interesting - so even with a handful of wickets, Yasir second to Wahab in this series.

You wouldnt believe that based upon the criticism that Wahab got from PPers and some experts

A #6 simply cannot average 12.5 in a 3 match series. We need a better all rounder at 6, if you want to stick with Nawaz, turn him into a second spinner role at 8. His 12.5 runs can be a bonus there.

in terms of average yes. But Yasir bowls much more overa than our pacers in UAE. he has 10-12 over spells But as a wicket taker Yasir is heads and shoulders above everyone else. Wahab in Tests is a good option but we are suffering from a dearth of Test Class Pacers.

Bowler Breakdown per inning.

Thanks jeetu

How bad is Sohail Khan's Test bowling average!

Wahab starting to get his Test bowling average closer to 30 now.

jeetu, good work.

I found Yasir to be too one dimensional and most of the time ineffective whenever he bowled. His wickets it didn't feel like the majority were actually taken through setting up the batsmen rather he was expecting the batsmen to make mistakes (it eventually happened but it's WI we're talking about here) - granted the pitch was not doing much, but I was expecting him to change it up a bit, bowling 99% legspinners won't work in every Asian Test Pakistan play.

I thought he bowled well in the 2nd test and very ordinary in other two tests. It was WI so he still got wickets, but he wasn't bowling well.

It was partly due to the pitches, his workload and the lack of plans/tactics but also technically it just didn't feel right as if he was missing something.

He has been over bowled for sure. Pakistan should have played some other proper spinner who attacks. Not sure why some young one was not tried against a team like WI.

Misbah - honestly no other plausible reason why Zulfiqar wasn't discarded last year. If we need a spinner for the economy rate then Nawaz fits the bill perfectly.

However, yes Pakistan needs a genuine attacking spinner like Asghar to be picked to lessen the overs burden on Yasir but also to give him a potent partner in crime, so that his output can also go up a notch too.

I agree.
Yasir Shah needs to handled carefully. He is the key bowler. No need to play him after series is won.
