So next year's home season for England will include 7 tests vs Pakistan and India and 8 ODI's and 4 T20's vs Australia and India

Could England lose all series?

Pakistan always plays superb cricket in England and considering their performance last year they have a realistic chance of winning the series.

India is the number one test team in the world and King Kohli will be hungry to score big this time after the failures of 2014.

Australia are always a top side in Limited Overs and could beat them in the ODI series which they pretty much always do

India also have a great chance of winning the ODI series and T20's are pretty much a lottery

Could England end up losing everything next summer and is this the toughest English summer in a long time?

I hope that's the case. Will love to see the reaction of the sky team :shh

Don't think Aussies will win the ODI series this time around.

If anything I'm expecting England to give a drubbing to Aussies.

A full strength Aus will beat England anywhere in an ODI series.

Not anymore, this isn't 2013 buddy. They beat them last when they were still recovering as an ODI team after 2015 WC embarrassment.

I know England smashed us 4-1 last year, and I think it had more to do with them being on a whole other level rather than us being completely awful.

Down under however, we were competitive despite the scoreline. There were a few times we ran Aussie close and first game was ours for the taking but we loosened the grip. England dominated completely.

England will win unless we see a Starc masterclass in all games.

This will be the most formiddable Indian team to visit England in my memory.

India has all the bases covered except for the WK batting. India should also not fall into the trap of playing both finger spinners in Jaddu and Ashwin. If India opts for 2 spinners, then India should play Kuldeep as one of them. He will surely cause lots of trouble to English batsmen.

Batting wise, Rahul/Dhawan/Vijay are a very good openers. Then you have Pujara/Kohli/Rahane in middle order. Then you have Pandya and Saha(not sure about these two. Their first tours). Then All rounders in Ashwin/Jaddu and Kuldeep. BK is a must and so is Shami.

Pakistan won't do well. It's early season tests.

India will beat England.

Limited overs cricket is irrelevant.

India shouldnt play any finger spinners. K Yadav should be ideal for away tours. Jadeja/Ashwin are pretty average away from home. India should play 3 seamers plus Allounder and one spinner.

Ideally, Id have
Shami/ Yadav/ BK/ H Pandya/ K Yadav.
5 bowling options is must on away tour.

no MuH or YK...PAK will struggle. India have only won 1 away Test in the past 6 years in AUS, NZ, SA, ENG...can't see that changing soon except for a one off fluke win like in 2014.

Pak will draw. England will defeat India and Australia.

Not so sure how our batting would cope against lateral movement in England.Even in ODIs, we have not been playing that well when the ball was moving around.I have hope on Rahane but still circumspect on Kohli after how he failed against Australians and also against Amir in CT final. We have to bat much better than last time to win this.

2018 will be the disaster year we're all been bracing ourselves for tbh ~ I don't see us doing particularly well in those early season games especially against a team like England, and more so with no YK / Misbah around this time to save our behinds in case of a total meltdown.

The only batsman in the team right now is Azhar. Asad's a mental midget who needs someone to constantly remind him that he can do it , Babar, for all his LOI exploits is nowhere near the test batsman that we want him to be, Sarfraz doesn't have the stomach to go big in tests and Harris / Salauddin are totally untested and there is a high chance of them being absolute duds in overseas swinging conditions.

Sami Aslam although I am pretty confident is somewhat equipped (+ has relevant exp) to guts it out against a proper rampaging onslaught from the English pacers which would most probably be (Anderson, Broad, Stokes, Roland Jones) + Moeen - That's a World Class bowling attack right there and you can't negate this type of a threat with only 1 batsman in the team.

Our bowling, on the other hand would be equally good, if not better (Amir, Hassan, Abbas, Shah, Junaid (I hope so) + Shadab) but the real test would always be their bowlers vs our batsmen. If we somehow manage 250+ in every innings we will win the series.

I am getting them 2010 feels from the next year series :( plus they are saying that Salman Butt might play so I'll probably not even watch it if that snake of a human being is donning the star and crescent. I know me bowing out from the fan base (after religiously following PCT for 20 years) would make no difference whatsoever, but I'll do everything in my capacity to protest his selection and will continue to do so regardless of whether it gives results or not.

I work hard and pay good money to watch the game that I love and if some low life is scheming to corrupt our beautiful sport and up coming youngsters then I will not stand by and let him attain the highest privilege just because he completed his 'sentence' ~ He should be grateful he's allowed to earn a living in domestics.

England v India ODI sold out

Tickets for this summer’s Royal London One-Day International between England and India at Emerald Headingley have now sold out.

The ODI joins the Saturday of the Test Match in becoming the second day of International cricket to have sold out, with over four months until the first ball goes down.

Andy Dawson, Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Commercial Director, said: “The appetite for International cricket in Yorkshire is well and truly there, which is great to see.

“Earlier in the month we were delighted to announce the Saturday of the Test Match as a sell-out, and to add the One-Day International to it at this time of the year is a real positive for the Club. The demand for tickets has been unprecedented, which we believe is down to the unique experience that we are able to offer here at Emerald Headingley.

“There are now fewer than 2000 tickets left for Day One of the Test Match, and we envisage that these will sell out well in advance of the game as well.

“On the back of the recent news about major match allocations from 2020-2024, it’s another positive story for cricket in Yorkshire.”

Bumrah? Bumrah! We need Bumrah. He is already a terror and is only getting better.

You do remember that India won a Test in SA just a month ago?

Ind will do zilch. Lightweight batting will undermine everything bowlers do . India will win in "BIG TALK" . Shastriji and Kohli would decimate everyone.

You’re quoting me when i made that prediction in September 2017. Back then hardly anyone would’ve guessed that Bumrah would make a test debut. We all assumed he was white ball specialist. However, from my original prediction, I’d just replace Yadav with Bumrah and rest will remain the same

If we get the right team, KL Rahul in for Dhawan and Hitman out and Rahane in then we shall be very competitive and might win the series. We were altogether different team when had right players.

Pretty coming from a fan who’s team is back to being a MINNOWS.

Pakistan has started the series well - perhaps that's why the ECB only gave them 2 tests whereas the weaker test side (when playing in England) got 5 tests this summer :).

What if Pakistan beating England causes them to make drastic changes to their side on the back of which they perform splendidly and smash India.

Ooops :broad:

England won the ODI series against England and Australia, T20I series against Australia and Test series against India.

Drew the Tests against Pakistan.

Lost the T20I series against India.

Not a bad season overall.

England had a dominant summer in ODI cricket and look to be favourites heading into the next world cup.

In tests, they still look a bit iffy but were more than enough to humiliate India.
