Summer Transfer Window 2018

Don't think he has that much fat, just a stocky fella.

Sure, he looks fine in the pic.

He has been criticised for being over weight on a number of occasions esp after Euro 2016. I hope he stays in good shape and under Klopp Im sure he will.

Can you show me any proof where he was justifiably called overweight?

No do an internet search. I've seen him play since he was in Germany, he has looked lazy and overweight on occasions. But as I said playing for Liverpool he wont be allowed to relax in any way.

true, i think the english teams have learnt a lesson - inflated prices, especially due to the world cup.

However you do need a goalie and hope lovren can play like he has done for croatia. you do need a good midfielder who can pass the ball

A goalie plus maybe Fekir and e are good to go. If I am being greedy than a partner for VVD should be considered with any leftover change:misbah4

I did an internet search and didn't find any that's why asked you. Just saying he looked overweight and lazy to you doesn't make it a fact.

Daley Blind: Ajax agree deal for Man Utd & Netherlands defender

Manchester United have agreed to sell Daley Blind to Ajax for a fee that could eventually rise to £18.5m.

Blind, 28, joined United from Ajax for £13.8m in 2014, when fellow Dutchman Louis van Gaal was in charge.

Able to play in defence or midfield, Blind was a regular under Van Gaal - but his appearances have reduced since Jose Mourinho arrived at Old Trafford.

He did play in both the 2016 FA Cup final and the following year's Europa League final victory over Ajax.

It is understood the Dutch club will pay an initial £14m to re-sign Blind on a four-year deal.

ok, i keep reading from Italian sources that your in for Allison - roma/Brazil goalie - supposedly liverpool have made a bid of 60m euros plus 10m euros bonus - i dont believe this figure- maybe 50m euros was offered in total.
However if i was oblak - i would move - as he cannot achieve anymore at ath madrid. Due to the corruption from barca/r.madrid

Jorginho is good signing.

if he can hack the pace of the league - as you get closed down faster - reason why brazil never gave him a chance was for the reason he played too slow.

I do like him, when juve sold pogba i did want either pjanic/jorginho/modric - as i knew juve cannot afford verrati

He'll adapt.

Considering the transfer window ends on matchday, I'm still awaiting for some big names to move to some clubs. Man Utd need to fill a lot of positions but RW is a must.

We need a new goalie badly. Roma won't sell Allison to us after we took Salah from them on the cheap. Oblak is being priced at near £80 million, we won't pay that. I just hope Karius does not start as our number one keeper come the new season.

Fantastic signing for LFC.

At 13.5M he is an absolute bargain. Has EPL experience and a great replacement when we rest Salah. MMHS your thoughts?

Brilliant value for money - won't replace Coutinho, but you need such players. I explain it from Sir Alex's mantra - when you are going for 3 trophies every year, you need 2 things first - quality & depth. That's you need a top class XI to start, and a cascade back-up on bench.

Now, the problem is, money can buy world's best 2 forwards, but if you can't start them both, one'll be upset. That's true for most spots - the 3rd CB, 2nd AM, 3rd winger - these guys have to be world class if you are to win both in weekends & midweek, but you can't keep them all happy sitting on bench.

When, a player gets upset on bench - not when he is sitting on bench for a better player, rather when his International spot is at risk for sitting on bench. You can win trophies as back-up, money as well, but not necessarily International cap, if you are not playing, ...... result, unhealthy competition and bad blood in dressing room. And, no matter how good you are, unless you are playing league game, players from Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Holland, England ............. won't start at Internationals - their Managers have too many to choose from.

To solve this, Sir Alex found a perfect solution - he would pick this 13/14 starters from top soccer nations, absolute icons, players who are chased by every one. But, after that, instead of chasing "Galacticos", from top countries, what he would do is, he'll find world class players from poor soccer nations - players, whose National spot will never be in danger if he is playing 15 EPL minutes in alternate weeks or playing only FA/Carling Cup. I can name many - Ole Guna, Quintin Fortune, Park Sung, Evans, Fletcher, Yorke, Irwin, O'Shea, Fangzhu, Cushczak, Howard, Chicharito ..... these were not the most sparking names, but brilliant back up players, and they were happy to be part of ManU, which kept their International career intact, despite very limited pitch time. Take Ole Gunna - hardy started for MU, but he had 12 years career for Norway.

Shakiri is a fantastic buy - his skills are as good as most top players, but work ethics might not be. At 26, he is entering his best 4/5 years. It can happen that he'll fight it out with Mane for a starter, if not still for 13mn he is a steal, as he can give great 35 minutes every game. And, he'll be damn happy at Liverpool - even if he doesn't start a single EPL game, he'll be the first name in Swiss line-up. Win win for both.

Shaqiri to liverpool is a steal, this guy has the ability to change a game in a matter or moments. Smart smart buy by liverpool.

Mahrez to City is pretty interesting, I wonder how pep will fit him in that formation. End of the road for sterling I guess, that headless chicken should be sold IMO.

Jorginho to Chelsea is a surprise considering Chelsea already has a slow poke in Cesc Fabregas. Is he a replacement or a backup. Also, Eden looks set to leave Chelsea which would leave a huge void in that Chelsea lineup.

West Ham have signed midfielder Felipe Anderson - a player they call "one of the most exciting talents in Europe" - for a club record £36m from Lazio.

The fee for the 25-year-old could rise rise to £41.5m and eclipses the £22m the Hammers paid Toulouse for France Under-21 defender Issa Diop last month.

Anderson, West Ham's seventh summer signing, has agreed a four-year deal.

He scored 34 goals in 177 appearances for Lazio and was in Brazil's Olympic gold medal-winning squad in 2016.

"West Ham is a club with a lot of tradition. Lots of great players have played here, like Bobby Moore, Carlos Tevez and Di Canio," he said.

"I'm aiming big. Who knows, maybe I could hit their heights and be a legend here too. I'm really happy to be here. It's a dream come true."

Hammers boss Manual Pellegrini, who took charge of the Premier League side in May, has also signed Paraguay defender Fabian Balbuena, England midfielder Jack Wilshere and Ukraine winger Andriy Yarmolenko in the past week.

They joined Diop, Poland goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and English defender Ryan Fredericks as summer arrivals at London Stadium.

Anderson made his senior debut for Brazilian side Santos when he was 17 and helped them win the Copa Libertadores - South America's equivalent of the Champions League - the following year.

He joined Lazio in 2013 and was part of the the side that reached the Europa League quarter-finals last season, where the Italian side were knocked out 6-5 on aggregate by Red Bull Salzburg.

However, they finished fifth in Serie A, missing out on Champions League qualification to Inter Milan on head-to-head record.

"We believe we have signed one of the most exciting talents in European football," said West Ham director of football Mario Husillos.

"This is a very big statement."

Now that the WC is over I expect the market to go in to overdrive. Liverpool will be in a good position to sign Fekir. As he has not performed well in the WC... in fact he has hardly played so Lyon will not be able to manipulate his price. Liverpool have called their bluff by not agreeing to Lyon's terms neither have Man Utd or Real Madrid shown any interest in Fekir as was suggested by their chairman to influence matters. I feel Man Utd may make a bid for Gareth Bale if he becomes available. Keep an eye on that one as well. Spurs are not doing anything in the market where as Arsenal have made some interesting signings not that they will be in the title race. Not expecting Man City to be signing many if any more at all. The rest are just also ran's.

would you be happy with pickford - as a alternative, which goalie would you like

From Everton to Liverpool :))

not like everton are going to finish top 4 in the next 10 years, he needs a biiger better project for himself to become a better goalie. everton will sell if they receive a good enough sum.

You cannot have karius in goal

Yeah understandably so cos of the football World Cup.

A lot has happened before during the world cup. I don't remember so many of big teams not making any signings.

The world cup isn't an excuse. Medals can be done at base camps and usually transfers are negotiated throughout the season.

Maybe clubs were waiting for a domino to fall.

Alisson now on the verge of joining us would be a better signing. His distribution of the ball is something that will greatly benefit Liverpool's style of play. Pickford is more of a traditional keeper.

Would be an awesome window if Liverpool could get Alisson and Fekir. Conflicting reports coming in about Fekir, they're changing from one day to the next. Need to get rid of Ings, Karius, Origi and Markovic. There are question marks over Clyne and Wijnaldum as well. Despite being injury prone I have a soft spot for Studge, had Ox not been injured Lallana would probably be allowed to leave as well. I'd keep Origi as back up too.

Loris Karius to spearhead mass Liverpool clear-out

oris Karius has revealed he is considering his future at Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp prepares for a player clear-out which could raise over £100m.

Karius could leave Liverpool before the transfer window closes after admitting his bitter disappointment at the £65m record capture of Alisson, the Brazilian goalkeeper.

The futures of seven other players including Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Sheyi Ojo, Lazar Markovic and Pedro Chirivella are also uncertain as Klopp moves to trim his squad.

Valencia are set to make a £27million move for Origi, the Belgium international, and forward Ings is a target for Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Southampton. Liverpool will demand £20m plus add-ons for Ings.

Lazar Markovic is wanted by clubs in Greece and Turkey while Middlesbrough, Wolfsburg and Reading have inquired about Ojo, the winger who is valued at £15m by the Merseysiders.

Lazio and Cardiff are in talks over a possible deal for Marko Grujic – though Klopp is happy to keep the Serbian midfielder - and Sporting Lisbon are interested in signing Chirivella either on loan or permanently.

Ben Woodburn will be allowed to leave on loan after Liverpool’s American tour but it is undoubtedly the future of Karius which is the most intriguing.

The German is understood to be fuming with Klopp’s decision to bring in Alisson from Roma and will review his options ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

Karius is also believed to be shocked by the lack of clarity over Klopp’s decision to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer.

Klopp has openly admitted that Alisson will be his new No 1 and the future appears bleak for Karius, who was unconvincing in the 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the pre-season friendly in Charlotte on Sunday.

“Of course it's not perfect for me, but I cannot say much more about it either,” he said.

“I do not know that, I cannot say what I'm doing right now, there's still some time left [in the transfer window].”

After the game Karius also took aim at his critics with an Instagram post by writing: "To those who take joy in seeing other people fail or suffer, I feel for you. Whatever it is that's happening in your life to hold this much anger and hate, I pray that it passes and good things come to you."

Liverpool will fly to New York on Tuesday ahead of their second International Champions Cup game against Manchester City the following day.

Richarlison has formally completed his £40m move from Watford to the Goodison Park club.

Personally think its way too much. 10-12 mill would make more sense, specially with the money Everton spent last season.

Great....... United have approached Leicester City regarding Harry Maguire with the player reportedly interested in the move. The problem that Manchester United will have to fork out up would's of £65M which is a clear indication United have moved on from Toby Alderweireld due to Daniel Levy's stuborness to sale players for a high price rather than the right price.

how old is magiure . Alderweireld well last season had a few injuries - kept him out the first. Past 2 seasons imo toby been the best defender in the UK, i wanted him at juve for chiellini replacement

so courtois maybe heading to madrid and your on the verge of buying robert green - amazing deal.

Chelsea been linked with Juve young defender rugani £45m - personally when he has played which is very little he hasn't really done anything - im not convinced with him - too skinny, not clever in dirty tackles/challengers - he seems to quiet

Can people come off it? Some naive people like PetroDollars like to believe "Sky sources" which basically claim that half our squad is about to leave. All I'm saying is that the media make it sound like Hazard, Courtois and Willian are nailed on to leave when none of them have even came close yet to making a move.

Rob Green is actually a smart move, takes a home grown spot for the quota and it allows to sell Cahill and bring in Rugani with little to no repercussions. Looking like we're pursuing moves for Martial, Bailey and Thiago which is very positive news, and I like the potential signing of Bernard on a free after his release from Shakhtar.

Hahahaha Rob Green - even as a 3rd goalie I wouldnt want him. Regarding rugani is he better than zouma?, do stoke have zouma on loan or have they purchased him.

Wouldnt you rather pay for khulibali than rugani, due to being in his prime and had many games under his belt. I understand he may cost £70m.

Chelsea have made Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford their primary target should Thibaut Courtois leave for Real Madrid this summer, Sky Sports News understands.

Earlier this week, Sky Sports News reported Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland are among the possible replacements at Stamford Bridge, but Pickford ranks above both of them on Chelsea's wanted list.

Everton are likely to resist any approach for the man they signed for £30m from Sunderland last summer, with the 24-year-old one of England's standout players as they progressed to the World Cup semi-finals.

He was also Everton's Player of the Year last season, in both the awards voted for by fans and his teammates.

Liverpool stole a march on Chelsea by signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who was the first choice to work under new manager Maurizio Sarri, but now Pickford is the favoured option.

Chelsea have yet to make a formal approach to Everton, while there has been no comment from either club so far.

It is thought Courtois will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. The Belgium goalkeeper has one year left on his current Chelsea deal, and has said he is prepared to run down that contract so he can leave on a free next summer.

Sarri has told reporters he wants to talk directly to Courtois to gauge how the 26-year-old is feeling before making any decision about his future. The goalkeeper is due to return from holiday and join Chelsea training, a week on Monday.

Sky in Italy reported earlier in this window that negotiations over a new deal had broken down.

Maguire is currently 25 years old. He's a good solid young defender, but Manchester United can not base his performances in the world cup. He by no means in £65M probably £30M with that being said United need an experienced defender who can show some leadership to a young United defence.

Actually Rob Green has been brought in to be the 3rd choice GK for Chelsea. As for Courtois's replacement, that will be either Pickford or potentially Butland. I think they have a better chance to get Butland then Pickford due to the price they will have to pay.

i know, just messing around, considering ive never liked green, always thought he was dodgy, but even for a 3rd choice goalie- better to go for someone else.

Due to the fact i still believe that city will win the title by a big distance -chelsea, liverpool, man utd, spurts will be up for 2nd spot - if green does play 1 game in the league - he will mess up for you lot and - i think 2nd place will be separated by a few points

I agree that Green is useless and Chelsea could do better, like potentially Fraser Forster or someone better really. While I agree City will be No.1, I feel this season the top four race will be alot closer. So far Liverpool like to only team to compete with City, while the others need some investment and need to offload fringe players.

Rugani has a lot of potential and like Jorginho he has played under Sarri and already knows the system and tactics, it would be very good if our spine was already comfortable with his philosphy. Rob Green won't even play a game, he's purely there to fill the home-grown quota. Rugani is around Zouma's talent level (who is still at the club he was only on loan at Stoke) but Zouma is injured and Rugani is ready to slot into Sarri's team with no tactic training needed. Koulibaly is a good player sure, but he's £70m and there would no need at all to spend that much when we could use that money on a striker or winger instead.

@temyurblake Fraser Forster would not come to us for a 3rd choice keeper spot, that's just basic common sense. People are clearly missing the point of the signing.

Aleksandar Mitrovic: Fulham sign Serbia striker from Newcastle

Fulham have signed Serbia striker Aleksandar Mitrovic for a reported £22m from fellow Premier League side Newcastle United.

Mitrovic scored 12 goals in 17 games on loan at Fulham last season as the Cottagers secured a return to the top flight via the Championship play-offs.

The 23-year-old, who joined Newcastle from Anderlecht in 2015 for £14.5m, has signed a five-year deal until 2023.

"I'm happy to the moon and back," he said.

"I'm very glad and happy and proud to finally be here and officially become a Fulham player. I have love for the fans. They're amazing fans and I have a really good connection with them.

"This is a big club and last year we made history.

"We want to keep making big things - and with all the fans behind us I think we can go far."

Mitrovic made five appearances for Newcastle in the first half of last season, before joining Fulham in February.

He was a key figure as Slavisa Jokanovic's side secured a return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

The move comes three days after the Magpies agreed a deal to sign Japan striker Yoshinori Muto from Bundesliga side Mainz.

The Cottagers have already signed Spanish goalkeeper Fabri from Besiktas, German World Cup-winning forward Andre Schurrle on loan from Borussia Dortmund, as well as Ivory Coast midfielder Jean Michael Seri and French defender Maxime le Marchand from Nice.

Everton have announced the signing of left-back Lucas Digne from Barcelona on a five-year deal for £18m.

The 25-year old joined Barca from Paris St-Germain in 2016, and won La Liga and Ligue 1 titles with his former clubs.

He has 21 international caps for France and was on standby for the champions at this summer's World Cup in Russia.

"Everton is a big club with a great history. I want to play games, win games and excite the fans with the quality of our football," Digne said.

"I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.

"I am not afraid, I am excited. For me, it is a new challenge to discover a country, a league, people and a great club such as Everton. It is fabulous."

Digne - who also spent a year on loan at Roma - made 46 appearances for Barcelona.

He bid farewell to the Catalan giants in an Instagram post on Sunday in which he thanked the staff for making the club "a family".

Digne is new manager Marco Silva's second major signing this summer following the arrival of Brazilian Richarlison from Watford.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is to have a medical at Burnley on Friday.

The 31-year-old has a year left on his City contract but has no first-team future under manager Pep Guardiola.

Hart has said he only wants a permanent move and is willing to take a pay-cut after spending the last two seasons on loan at Torino and West Ham.

Clarets keeper Nick Pope, who went to the World Cup ahead of Hart, dislocated his shoulder during their Europa League qualifying first-leg tie in Aberdeen.

Burnley's other England keeper Tom Heaton is still not fully fit as he recovers from a calf injury.

Former Manchester United keeper Anders Lindegaard played in the second leg victory over Aberdeen at Turf Moor on Thursday.

Burnley and Tottenham are the only Premier League clubs not to make a signing this summer.

Hart, who has 75 international caps, made nearly 350 appearances for City, winning two Premier League titles and one FA Cup.

As of this post, Courtois, Hazard, Willian, Giroud and Pedro are all still at the club. Wonder where that "concrete" Real Madrid interest has gone I wonder... Oh wait, it was just media nonsense all along.

it could be, however i do think courtois will be the most likely to leave.

you mentioned pedro - where was he linked and also giroud - who wants a striker who won the world cup but had 0 shots at the world cup.

You still haven't signed rugani looks like hes staying at Juve.

I've read rumors kante will sign a big massive contract so he stays as PSG are interested.

Klopp already amazed at alisson in training

Jefferson Lerma: Bournemouth sign Levante midfielder for record £25m fee

Colombia midfielder Jefferson Lerma has joined Bournemouth for a club record £25m fee from Spanish side Levante on a five-year deal.

Lerma played in all Colombia's matches at the World Cup in Russia, including their last 16 defeat by England.

He is the Cherries' third signing of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League club had already recruited midfielder David Brooks from Sheffield United and full-back Diego Rico from Leganes.

The fee for Lerma eclipses the £20m Bournemouth paid Chelsea for Dutch defender Nathan Ake last summer.

Leicester City have signed Croatia Under-21 defender Filip Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium to become the club's sixth signing this summer.

Benkovic made 30 appearances for the Croatian side last term as they clinched their domestic league title.

"I will give all my heart to this club, to the fans, to everybody," Benkovic said.

"The ambitions of Leicester City are so big. I think it's a very good step for me to go to the next level. I'm very happy to be here."

The Foxes have already signed right-back Ricardo Pereira, centre-back Jonny Evans, midfielder James Maddison, goalkeeper Danny Ward and winger Rachid Ghezzal.

Benkovic adds further depth to manager Claude Puel's squad before their Premier League opener at Manchester United on Friday (20:00 BST).

Puel said: "Filip is an exciting young player who has the potential to develop even more at Leicester.

"He has made a big contribution to Dinamo Zagreb over the last three years and has also benefitted from experiencing European football.

"I know he will give us some great options and competition in the squad and I'm delighted to have him here."

It has been a non eventful final day of the window. Only Everton did some business getting in Bernard and Mina. My hopes of us signing Fekir didn't come to anything at all neither has anyone else come in or exited Anfield I believe. Surprisingly, Spurs have not bought anyone during the window where as Man Utd have also struggled with Mourinho failing to land any of his five targets. The final nail in their coffin came earlier on today when Leicester City told Man Utd we're not selling Harry Maguire to you:)):)) Arsenal and Man City didn't do any business today either. Overall Liverpool had the best transfer window without doubt bringing in four classy players.

Transfer deadline day:

Everton agree £27.2m deal to sign defender Mina from Barcelona; Bernard & Gomes also join

Fulham set to sign £22.3m midfielder Anguissa; also complete deals for keeper Rico (Sevilla) and defender Bryan (Bristol City)

Leicester sign Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb and agree deal for Soyuncu from Freiburg

Chelsea sign Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid, Courtois moves the other way

This must be the biggest robbery ever, Chelsea sell a world class keeper for £35M and buy a raw untested novice for a world record £75M.

Coutois was going to go, but surely that money could have been better spent, Donnaruma perhaps or Jan Oblak would have cost the same amount, i would have got Kasper for half the costs.

Donnaruma is too raw himself he's only 19yrs old and he has made many mistakes last season. Don't think he's ready for a top pressured team.

Oblak - klopp said he was interested in him before signing Alisson, he said 100m release Claus is too much.

Tbh surprised Chelsea didn't ask for navas in return.

well even though to me the chelsea keeper is new and i dont know much, but i would have taken Donnaruma if i were to take a young raw keeper.

It was really nothing concrete, until Courtois decided to go AWOL and force the move through which gave Madrid confidence to get the deal done. The fact that they threw in Kovacic in the deal too just shows me they weren't confident in getting the deal done at first with just funds and it was media nonsense for the longest time.

I'm very happy with Kepa so far, his distribution has been excellent compared to Courtois. It's ironic that Madrid were very close to signing him in January due to him being the top young keeper in Spain, shown by him basically being #2 behind De Gea for Spain.

Wish we got one of Fekir, Bailey or Martial but Pedro is looking like he's not as washed up as I thought and CHO has emerged so it's not the worst situation to be in.

Rumours that Real Madrid are in talks with Maurio Icardi.Remember, the transfer window for them closes on the 31st.

Kovacic was always tipped to leave on loan this summer, he was linked to both Milan clubs.

I personally think, Madrid did a sly one on you lot, sarri likes the intelligent midfielder like kovacic, I think they did this deal last minute, so they could get rid of kovacic - as his transfer fee was roughly 40-45m euros - linked to the Milan clubs who couldn't afford this plus his wage-wasn't decreasing by much

Not really. It was good for us, like Costa, Courtois has been a problem in the dressing room and flirts with Madrid far too often, getting rid of him is a positive. In fact, Kepa has a better saves to goals conceded ratio than Courtois and is better at distributing the ball. To get Kovacic too is just an added bonus.

LEICESTER, England — Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a new five-year contract with the Premier League champions.

The 29-year-old Denmark goalkeeper says "I’ve come back (from winning the title) absolutely convinced that this is the place for me to be."

Schmeichel emulated his father — Manchester United goalkeeping great Peter Schmeichel — by lifting the league trophy last season in one of football’s biggest surprises.

Schmeichel, who played in all of Leicester’s league games last season with 15 clean sheets, joined the club in 2011 and has made more than 200 appearances.

Leicester, which also has goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, starts its title defence against Hull on Aug. 13.
