T20 is a young man's game? Did KP defy the notion or is it wrong?

When Northern started the tournament with the 4-5 wins, I saw everybody saying how T20 is a young man's game and how Northern are the Australia of T20s.
Fast forward to the final, the (supposed ?) best team didn't even make it to the final and it was actually the oldest team in the tournament with players like Malik, Hafeez, Asif Afridi, Musadiq Ahmad, Wahab Riaz etc who managed to win the tournament with almost one-sided games in the knockout matches.
All of this sort of negates the 'T20 is a young man's game' theory.
Discuss.

In T20 cricket you need players who can express themselves and KPK had Fakhar, Hafeez and Shaheen. Same was the case with table topper Northern with Zeeshan, Ali Imran, Haider, Rauf, Shadab etc and Southern Punjab pretty much had their batting setup on the same theory.

So I dont think T20 cricket can be defined with age but rather expression of skills. Whoever has the skills required in the format and is confident enough to show them he can be successful in the format.
