Salaam guys,

Was just wondering, in leagues such as PSL where you will have teams consisting of international players of different countries, when it comes to team tactics etc will the players expose the weaknesses of their fellow countrymen/int team players to their fellow team mates.

For example, Shadabs googly, the pakistani players who have played with him, will they expose his secrets to their psl team mates which include foreign international players, who might some day play against him at the international level.

Wsalam. Tbh I don't think there's much to hide nowadays, widespread TV coverage means that players' weaknesses are most likely already known and targeted.

True, or is there some unwritten rule where you dont ask to expose secrets especially mystery spinners i.e imagine ajmal

To a certain extent. As Abdullah said, there's widespread tv coverage anyway, but I'm sure with nets etc players may suss out minor things of other players. Not necessarily tactically, maybe in a sense of sledging etc. You know which players are more sensitive so affected by it etc.

It works both ways. You also get to know the certain weaknesses for foreign players that you are on a team with.

IPL is decade old now OP's concern is kind of norm.

Knowledge exchange between different nationals in leagues is Good for overall game we love 'Cricket' to grow and become more competative :19:

There so much coverage and technology these days that players tricks can be found out at international level.

Its definitely due to technology. Nowadays there are alot of resources for teams to see weakness for teams.

Yeah, but insider info from someone who faces the player in question in the nets and attends the team meetings, etc is quite valuable.

Exactly my point, il give you a scenario;
Ajmal had one of the most deceptive doosra's. Imagine its the PSL final,
Ajmal is to bowl in it and in the opposition team is afridi who is captain and who has faced ajmal in the nets etc and maybe understands when the doosra is coming. Coming into face ajmal is an international player lets say Warner, warner asks afridi about the doosra for the sake of the team etc. Does afridi expose the secrets?

Lets add something else in the mix, pakistan is going to play a series next with australia where all three players will be playing.

Does Afridi reveal the info? Does Warner even ask ?

Agree. In the end the cream always rises to the top. If you aren't good enough then this is a good arena to be tested against your contemporaries.
