Congratulations mate, Tamim Iqbal has got out exactly a ball after this thread:))!

His last two knocks do look a tad selfish.

The most ridiculous part was his celebration after reaching 50 the other day. Who celebrates a 50? makes the whole country look amateurish to celebrate a 50 like a big achievement.

and you guys got mad in my thread...all the BD batsmen are like that (maybe one exception or two); even remember Nasir Hossain's innings against Pak?

It could be worse, Ashraful, the king of phattu batsmen could be back in the team:-)

Your thread was disgraceful and filled with hatred for Bangladeshi Fans! I am glad most PPers have showed great support and have bigger heart. Sorry Sir but you are the Hitler of PP ;)

Yes, I am, happy?

If you interpret it wrongly, it is my fault?

I did accept that the tone and style could have been better but what I said still holds true...with the exception of once in many many blue moons, BD fans should not be too excited even when their team is within a striking distance of winning the game. They should have 110% faith in the ability of their loved BD batsmen to find a way to screw themselves up again!

Zeig Monsee! Heil Monsee!

Don't diss the fans Sir , sky is the limit, there's nothing wrong in beleiving. Don't stop beleiving :sachin

He did the right thing. He wanted to ensure he was at the crease at the powerplay. Sure he got out and it didn't work but people Tamim went with a plan. Bangladesh have a chance to beat India now.

What has it got to do with Bangla fans man? You made one joke of a thread and now you have to post tens of even more pathetic posts just to defend that thread. Give it a rest, accept your fault. Bangla fans are as good or bad as the rest of the SC fans ( or even all fans across the globe)

Secondly, how come Ashraful be a phattu batsman? He's a careless guy lacking a solid technique but does go for shots more often than other ultra defensive Bangladeshi batsmen, one of whom is the main protagonist of this thread.

I thought he played according to situation and remember he was out of form so needed time to settle.

And if you don't like him play give him to Pakistan team. We need a batsman like him :P

Set a solid foundation for the likes opf Shakib and Husein.

no selfish, but you have to understand htat he was saving wickets for the last moment, like the current situation...

Good planning by the bengalis, hope they win

Reagrding that older thread, nothing to do with you, so fly a kite for all I care or jump up and down like a frog or More

Ashraful is a PHattu batsman because of his average...it is disgusting for an Int'l batsman who has no other all round abilities to contribute to the team

POTW

:sachin Freelance is now officialy my second favorite poster after W65L35

That post reminded me of the great man Bhagat Singh

171 ODIs for 22.49 Avg and we have two fans above celebrating that...you know that is even worse than Afridi who at least bowls decently and is a much better fielder too:-)

Poor thread! Now wonder you guys fail to play 50 overs often. There is something called anchoring the innings. You don't need bashers. One of your top 3 batsman should be anchoring the innings, exactly like Tamim did today. He built a foundation which was later capitalized by shakib and Mushfiq ur rahim. I will say very well played.

Seriously 100 in 138 balls on batting wicket and many wickets still in hand? I blame Teenda here.

Tamim provided the base, Nasir accelerated when it mattered, Shakib was given the freedom to attack thanks to Nasir and Mushfiqur added the final blows.:26:

Bangladesh would have lost without him.

Plus he can hit as well as anyone else, just wantsd to provide a platform.

Harsh to call him selfish.

Actually it was ok i think. Thy gt sum srt of runs rather than collapse. Shakib n mushifur pkud sikk.

290 is a big total for BD. Someone has to stay one end from the beginning. Tamim's inning has helped create the platform. Yes, I would have liked had he finished his 100 as well with a faster pace. Because of Tamim's innings Jaharul, Nasir and Mushi could play freely.

I disagree in all count of this accusation of Tamim.
+++
As for his 50 celebration the other day, he was making a point to his uncle who had resigned as a chief selector and later took it back after the Priminister's invention. The board Chairman had sacked Tamim without giving a reason from the original 15 team squad.

Bangladesh just PWNED this hater. Pure OWNAGE.

By the way, Shabbir still needs grooming. Tamim being 22 is in no form and fashion OLD. Yes, he needs more physical training but that is another story.

not a selfish innings at all...unlucky. Tamim played brilliantly except his placement was torrid. constantly finding the fielders. on another day, those same 99 balls would have fetched him 125 runs minimum.

but it does speak volumes about a certain centa-centurion and his value to his side when he scores big...

Surprisingly, same equation doesn't work for SRT, no?

Would we have scored 250+ without his 100 today?

Dude, you can't say him selfish. Straight after the injury, he changed his batting style. He's no more aggressive. And his new way is helping him a lot. Previously, he never consolidated, so being matured, his getting runs and also consolidating them. His looking very good indeed.
But, today, after he got the 50, he had to be 'Typical Tamim', throwing his bat at everything. Bangladesh had their wickets, bet the required run rate was climbing up. So, Tamim was the man to go for, but bad luck, which he didn't.
Overall, liking his new way/mindset of batting.:39::D:19::14:

Definitely not the most selfish, but his last two innings do show that he is scared that he'll be dropped, and he was playing for his spot in the team.

The whole BD chief selector debacle before Asia Cup did show that some members of selection committee want him gone if he doesn't start getting lots of runs soon.

Its amazing how you mention that thread title, on the very day the offical 'most selfish batsmen in history', costs his team a match, and brings stunning embarrsement to his country, just for another (fake)milestone.

I don't think he was being selfish .. it was a good solid innings from him .. he didn't throw his wicket and had a big partnership ... I don't see it was a bad innings for BD at all.

definitely harsh on Tamim...he laid an excellent platform...I'm really glad he didn't start off in a hurry and gift his wicket to Indians

Tammim is under pressure to keep his place and Stuart Law doe's not want a flashy 20's and 30 from top of the order.

Your thread was disgraceful and filled with hatred for Bangladeshi Fans! I am glad most PPers have showed great support and have bigger heart. Sorry Sir but you are the Hitler of PP ;)

When? Where? They never loved/supported Bangladesh.
Pakistans are fan of India.
Right, mate?

Bangladesh just PWNED this hater. Pure OWNAGE.

Teenda PWNED you with his 100th and then lost the match due to his slow batting...go cry me a river!

I feel your pain...jal gaya Burnol lagayaiyaay:wahab

Nope, not on this occasion. India has enough quality batsmen without needing Sachin to drop anchor. They only lost 3 wickets?

Plus Bangladesh had the pressure of chasing.

Where is my dear friend, sharukh619? Waiting for is upcoming criticizing against Bangladesh.
Very excited.:hamster:

Kohli's SR was just 3 more than SRT's, why don't we blame him as well then? If Indian bowlers had kept their cool, I am 100% sure this thread would have been bashing thread for Tamim.

Though I do agree Tamim's inning was not selfish or not needed to play that slow one, regardless of Bangla's win or not.

To blame Sachin solely is totally not fair and in poor taste.

But I don't mind the bashing, that's how fan-base gets excited and cricket remains alive. :akhtar

Most selfish player in cricket history?

No that's yet another record :sachin won't give up for anyone.
Believe me we've tried to get it :misbah

His Knock could have cost us the victory honestly. He was playing like Imrul Kayes, and with Imrul gone Alhumdulliah :moyo there are more wins to come, I can feel it :amla around the corner maybe against Srilanka :murali

Right, mate?

Yes, you are right friend. But Indian fans are not bad, don't get it wrong, there are bad and good fans on each side. Indian fans here are really nice and big hearted. The thread that Monsee created it was deleted, thanks to the protest of many posters in PP, I would say around 70% disagreed with his beliefs so victory was ours at the end. Keep fighting and don't stop believing, I believe in you Brother :amla

C'mon man you know how he plays,he can hit 4s and 6s anytime he wants...

Imrul....
:))):)))

Harsh. When in form, Tamim is the best batsman in the Bangladeshi lineup. The guy tore apart the England attack in their own backyard.

that was just a dig at the fans in the crowd.. Common, those facial expressions against Pakistan were funny:fawad
