Firstly I want to say I am the greatest supporter of matches being hosted in Pakistan,

nevertheless certain problems need to be addressed by PCB and channel Ten Sports to make it treat to watch.

Experience of viewing the last T20 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka hosted in Lahore
was far from satisfactory.

Lahore is facing visibility issues already due to the smog effect, apart from that the telecasts from Lahore matches have not been of international standard. The visuals feel like the 90s, blurring them once the camera was moving to track the ball hit towards boundary. Tehre was zero employment of technology compared to even the minimal available resources in UAE-hosted matches.
There was no speed gun, no delivery-tracking camera and the hazy conditions made them look even more primitive. Lahore has always had environment issues if one remember the NZ v Pakistan match in World Cup 1996, the day match started with lights on as it was barely visible.
Karachi's National stadium does'nt have these environmental issues regarding visibility but the cameras installed are from the 1980s.
The Association that manages Lahore venue was recently reprimanded and lost a QEA match due to the 'wet conditions' reason was poor maintenance. The outfield of Gaddafi stadium crippled with the dewfactormakes fielding and bowling tough.

There are stadiums which can be secure and provide great visuals like AJK stadium or Rawalpindi. The foggy conditions in Northern Punjab are not right for a night match, the T20 should be shifted to day only.
Even if PCB and TEn Sports can't employ most of the technology in the rest of the world at least they need to change the quality of cameras which are more High-DEfinition and Resloution for viewers to enjoy.

The 2004 Samsung ODI series against India was beautiful to watch though. The production quality was superb back then. Wonder what happened afterwards. We're just regressing in all sectors. :(

I agree, but there are logistics issues here too.

You're basically buying expensive equipment for 4-5 games an year.

I think things will improve once we start getting regular PSL matches at different venues. Its not something that cant be fixed. In the 1980's PTV had some of the best coverage in the subcontinent and abroad. Just look at some of those old highlights on youtube and it isnt half bad for the era.

However it has stood still due to the lack of cricket. We just cant afford it if there is no international cricket. Be patient and give it time. One thing they really need to do is improve the lighting. Once they do that the picture quality will improve too. Even if the cameras suck.

I don't understand this. Who is the host broadcaster (at home) for the PCB? Similar to Sky, Star, Ch9 etc. I thought it was Ten Sports. If it is Ten Sports, then they already have the equipment, they just need to use that.

ARY had a pretty good production team in the early 00's, either that or our standards were a lot less back then.

awful camera work and lighting was even worst in enclosures ...pcb need to do something.

The simple fact of the matter is that the quality of our stadiums are garbage, to say the least. One can’t expect to film a garbage and expect to see a miraculous end product. Take the example of GSL. There are little to no lightings in the stands, therefore you can’t properly see the expressions of the people in them. The roofs over the stands looks ridiculously out of time, therefore the view from above the stadium is crap. This is the stadium that is the PCB headquarter and in my opinion, the most eye catching one. This tells us a lot about the conditions of other stadiums throughout Pakistan.
