So continuing from the other thread, I just checked the test records of Asian teams in SENA countries. The records are as follows.

India Played 64 Won 12 Lost 35 Drawn 17 ( W/L ratio of 0.342)

Pakistan Played 52 Won 11 Lost 36 Drawn 5 ( W/L ratio of 0.305)

Sri Lanka Played 46 Won 6 Lost 30 Drawn 10 ( W/L ratio of 0.200)

Bangladesh Played 21 Won 0 Lost 21 Drawn 5 ( W/L ratio of 0.00)

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...am=6;team=7;team=8;template=results;type=team

So as it turns out India has the best W/L ratio with Pakistan only slightly behind. Then comes Sri Lanka followed by Bangladesh.

Ordinary record but not surprising.

To be fair, SENA countries also tend to struggle in subcontinent. It goes both ways.

Drawn number of games should be 0

On that note what a pathetic record. Couldn't be any worse lol.

not struggle. They are pathetic in Asia. In india anyway. They lose mentally before they even play in India. Fortress of india hard to breach.

Yeah, that is a typo, thanks for pointing that out. Bangladesh's record iin SENA is as follows.

Bangladesh Played 21 Won 0 Lost 21 Drawn 0 ( W/L ratio of 0.00)

SENA countries record in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and UAE since 2000

Australia Played 37 Won 11 Lost 19 Drawn 7 ( W/L ratio of 0.578)

England Played 43 Won 10 Lost 19 Drawn 14 ( W/L ratio of 0.526)

South Africa Played 35 Won 8 Lost 17 Drawn 10 ( W/L ratio of 0.470)

New Zealand Played 25 Won 5 Lost 13 Drawn 7 ( W/L ratio of 0.384)

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...am=2;team=3;team=5;template=results;type=team

All the SENA teams have a better W/L ratio in Pakistan/UAE, India and Sri Lanka than the Asian teams in SENA countries. I have excluded Bangladesh from these calculations as they were a minnow for most of this period, but its clear that SENA teams struggle less in Asia than the Asian teams in SENA.

Bangladesh shouldn't be included in that list. LOL.

They are affiliate-level when it comes to SENA tests.

Interesting statistics. I thought they were worse than this.

I think a lot of these wins happened in recent times. SL and Pakistan became weaker and it is why SENA nations picked up some wins. For example, England beat SL 3-0 and NZ beat Pakistan 2-1.

I think for Australia, their wins happened in early 2000's , 2-1 win in India in 2004, 3-0 in SL in the same year, otherwise they have been very poor in the last decade in Asia.

You mean excluding india. All failed in India except in 2 series since 2000. record only looks good cause Bangladesh is included in the list and Pakistan were weak post 2015.

He excluded Bangladesh. He mentioned that in the post.

I think the reason why SENA nations did better was because SL and Pakistan got weaker.

No Bangladesh is excluded, check the link I have posted. Australia have won in India (2004) , UAE (2002) and SL twice (2004 and 2011) post 2000. England won in India (2012) in Pakistan (2000) and in SL twice (2001 and 2018). South Africa won in India (2000) in Pakistan (2007) and Sri Lanka (2014). New Zealand only won in the UAE(2018), but they also drew twice in SL (2012 and 2019). So its pretty clear that SENA teams have been much better in Asia than the other way round.

Windies should be there for Asian teams.

only because india is the only real powerhouse of Asia. pakistan have lost every now and then post 2010. Pakistan aren't the force they once were at home post 2010.

plus india and Pakistan played way more away games than all SENA teams did in Asia. The stats are deceiving. Either way stats are padded.

A stats record of series won and lost in that time period would be better then showing W/L records in individual games.

Windies should be there for Asian teams.

Asian teams record in SENA + WI since 2000

India Played 82 Won 19 Lost 37 Drawn 26 ( W/L ratio of 0.513)

Pakistan Played 62 Won 15 Lost 40 Drawn 7 ( W/L ratio of 0.375)

Sri Lanka Played 53 Won 8 Lost 33 Drawn 12 ( W/L ratio of 0.242)

Bangladesh Played 29 Won 2 Lost 26 Drawn 1 ( W/L ratio of 0.076)

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...am=6;team=7;team=8;template=results;type=team

Now, the records of SENA teams in Asia(excluding BD) + WI since 2000

Australia Played 49 Won 20 Lost 20 Drawn 9 ( W/L ratio of 1.000)

South Africa Played 47 Won 14 Lost 18 Drawn 15 ( W/L ratio of 0.777)

England Played 58 Won 15 Lost 23 Drawn 20 ( W/L ratio of 0.652)

New Zealand Played 32 Won 8 Lost 16 Drawn 8 ( W/L ratio of 0.500)

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...am=2;team=3;team=5;template=results;type=team

So, as you can see SENA teams in Asia + WI >>> Asian teams in SENA + WI

It precisely should be Asia vs outside Asia(SENAW). That's my point.

WI have been much better than BD and Zim since 2000 though.

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...2000;spanval1=span;template=results;type=team

WI- 0.39
BD- 0.15
Zim- 0.17

W/L ratio of 0.39 is just terrible. Do you know that WI had the best W/L ratio of all teams upto 1995 ?

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...1995;spanval1=span;template=results;type=team

Since then they have have slipped from 1st to 6th in terms of W/L ratio. Such a steep decline.

Lol, AUS has won more times in IND than in UAE/PAK in the last 10-20 years.

Stop posting clueless stuff.

Australia have toured UAE thrice in the last 20 years. Won 3 lost 3. Australia have toured India 6 times in the period. Won 4, lost 12. Since you are an objective poster, you can see the result in front of you, brother Hawkeye :srini

rofl when?

they got phainta after phainta. stop being delusional haha.

They won 1 series in india. In freaking 2004 rofl. Since then it has been losses left right and centre. we actually got robbed in 08 by the cheating fraudsters.

But thats true the other way around too - Australia have not been anywhere near their best since 2007. Same can be said of SA post 2011.

This is the only stat I’m interested in...

India Played 64 Won 12

Pakistan Played 52 Won 11

Pakistan played 12 fewer games and have been in turmoil for just over a decade...have much less money and less then a quarter of India’s population....

^^^
At the same time India wants to isolate Pakistan in Cricket, wants to keep majority of the money and has zero interest in spreading the game....

I know what att the self loathing Indians willl have to say but really I can imagine the level headed ones bowing their heads in shame at this....

In the past 20 years, Sri Lanka have been on par to New Zealand and Pakistan as a test team which is quite clear by their W/L ratio.

Aus has also won only 1 series vs. PAK in this time period in Asian conditions.

It's sad that we play so few matches per Test series. And so few series too - only 3.

no people finally discovered the fact that Aussies were perennial cheaters. Still cheat rofl. Hence the so called decline in performances. They are still a good team at home though.

SA were good til 2016. Went downhill since then but it's normal. Every team goes through peaks and troughs. End of an era for the.

Pakistan generally don't play more than 2 away from home because they simply aren't good enough to compete In australia and south africa.

At home yes they should play a 3 or 4 test series.

They dont play enough to beat teams away its harder to beat teams away in shorter series. But obviously they not going to play anymore test matches because it doesn't make money so they don't care which is fair enough.

Check the first post. Don't act ignorant.

Despite several challenges in the last 11 years, PAK has been as good as IND in SENA.

0.3 W/L ratio for both.

Have been even better in many cases.

stat padded by playing county which helps pakostam prepare for n.z and English conditions. That's the only reason why pakistam fared better in those conditons. Indians have a busy schedule. No time to prepare for these swing conditons. This is the truth. India play far too many games.

pakistan have never been good enough to compete In australia and south africa hence they get a 2 test series. At home yes sure they can play 3 or 4 test series.

It has more to do with the quality of Pakistan seamers who are able to exploit the conditions better. Younis Khan, Yousuf and Misbah have generally been good in those countries except the last series. We would have had a much better record if we hadn’t dropped as many catches and Kamran Akmal wasn’t with the team.

quality of seamers lol. Due to county practice.

India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have won at least one match in a SENA country since 2019 except for Pakistan who won nothing in this time frame.

Kohli deserves a lot of credit for building a team that can actually challenge teams in SENA. Earlier we were whitewashes right and left under Dhoni... now atleast there is a fight given.. even though its not a series victory.. winning matches improves the rate.
