Pakistan Captain speaking at end of the 2nd Test

One can put the blame on batting on a day 5 pitch but after getting them out cheaply for 312 and then just getting a lead of 80 runs in the end - that made a huge difference"

We know from Day one that the pitch would get worse and worse and not help batting later on

Credit to WI bowlers who bowled so well on the last day they bowled their hearts out and we had no answers

our plan was to play normally in the final innings and hit the bad balls but they gave us a few bad balls and fielded really well

We knew that after first 20 overs batting becomes a little easier and its easy to survive and score runs but we lost our key batsmen in the first 20 overs!

All WI bowlers are tall so the pitch was tailor made for them

YS has been performing well and he gave us a sniff of victory but I am overall satisfied with the bowling effort

Both the teams are still in the series and the next match will be interesting and that is what we play cricket for; You have to come back again and be good enough to beat the opposition

If we keep playing at 2RPO against pacers, we'll never succeed.

yeah, there's a lot to be said for this. even though its the slowest form of the game, to be good at test cricket these days you still need to be positive. Pakistan are just inexcusably slow and negative with their batting and this has been the case for a long time

you have hit the nail right there. Our senior most pro the legends of our cricket, the source of inspiration for our youngsters, don't want to take even a single against Holder of all bowlers. This is a pathetic trend that has been set and I am afraid this might pass on to the youngsters to come.

Jason Holder
Career Avg 36.92, SR 87.0, ECO 2.52
vs Pak Avg 21.56, SR 60.0, ECO 2.15

Pathetic

Jason Holder has won only two tests as a captain and that too against Pakistan. It's quite embarrassing.

Then why did you and azhar batted so slowly on a day 3 pitch in the first inns...on whole morning session scoring 40 runs of 30 overs...Azhar ali score just 14 runs in the entire morning session till lunch ...

Directly says when he batted it was tough for batting

When amir and sarfraz batted it become an easy pitch, giving no credit to their positive attitude...

He has lost more like this going into the shell...

it happens when the opponent captain has more weaker strategy than Jason...

I believe Misbah took this WI side lightly. He had seen them struggling against spinners in the ODI and T20 series so he didn't rate them at all. After getting away with defensive apporach in the first test his beliefs became firm. It must be very shocking for him to see WI putting up a fightback with their batting in the 2nd innings and giving Pakistan a tricky total to chase on ever deteriorating pitch on day 5. Pakistan must have seen how the pitch was behaving and they should have killed the game right there in the first innings when they were too busy blocking full tosses. It's not just Misbah the virus has spread to the whole batting exception is Sarfraz. Even Shafiq took 60 balls to get into double figures.

I wish and I hope this pathetic mentality is not passed on to the youngsters to come. They must not follow Misbah and YK. Their inspiration should come players like Kohli,AB De Villiers,Sangakara.

the pitch was really flat and ideal for batting on day 2 and before 3. yes some odd deliveries but overall there was no demon to suggest they couldn't bat positively but as I said they underestimated WI side and thougt they will be 100 all out against SHadab and Yasir so why not cash on some easy runs.

We need to understand that playing percentage Cricket doesn't mean BLOCKATHON.

You need to take singles and rotate strike.

Waqar's tweets proven right and Waseem's words proven wrong.

Not a Misbah hater by any means, but his fans bring up stats without context to defend him and hail him as some god.

Today they needed to be quicker and they never were...the reason they lost.

chasing 180 on a day 5 pitch that is deteriorating is extremely difficult even AUS would have lost.. Any team to chase and win this would have atleast lost 7-8 wickets for sure... Also need to give credit to WI bowlers who bowled well...

Pak lost it in their 1st inns when they could have easily scored faster and more runs may be a 150+ lead would have helped them......

Kaptaan doesn't know to rotate his bowler. he just keeps on bowling Yasir in every tests like he did with Ajmal and Rehman in UAE. he knows only one way to think.

But sadly Pakistan cricket and some foolish fans thoughts are still stuck with Messiah Misbah and smiling gentleman YK.
