What's new

The 1st Test between Pakistan (438 & 311/8d) and New Zealand (612/9d & 61/1) ends in a draw

Most alarming for me is how comprehensively the likes of Leach, Root, Rehan Ahmed, Michael Bracewell, Ish Sodhi have out bowled the Pakistani spinners ie Abrar, Nauman. Our spin stocks are at an all time low.

Don't forget how poor our batsmen are. You won't see these bowlers perform against other better sides

Bowlers succeed as a unit.

The England and New Zealand spin bowlers are competent and professional, but at best are slightly above average spinners.

Abrar in particular, and possibly Nauman, are probably better spinners on an individual level than all of them.

But the other Pakistan bowlers don’t give them any pressure to work with. There isn’t an Anderson or a Southee. There is no Wood, Stokes or Robinson. There isn’t even a Wagner.

The Pakistan seamers are weak, so teams are just milking their spinners and letting Babar overbowl them, so when the seamers eventually come back on then they get taken for easy boundaries.

Some of these bowlers have already performed against other sides. The issue is that Pakistan aren’t bowling as a unit. See my post above.

bcci, Can we please please play a test in Pakistan as long as Babar is Captain? It might not last long, so please lets have it soon.

Expecting better pitch next game :shane

Breaking news:

“We want our cricket to move forward but the pitches we have played on won’t help us do that. Such pitches are not good for bowlers. We are trying to make a bouncy pitch for the second Test,” Shahid Afridi, who met the curator in Karachi on Saturday, said.

I know it wasn’t a great performance overall but thank goodness we have broken the losing sequence after showing some good fight in our second innings.

Mir Hamza is a good bowler too. He will be very good in better bowling conditions

How can you say he’s a good bowler after putting in one of the worst bowling performances seen in years? Horrific line, never found his length, zero pace or swing or movement to trouble any batsman. He showed literally nothing this test match except some nice tuk tuk skills with the bat.
