What's new

The 3rd Test between Australia and India ends in a draw with India on 334/5

It matters in greater context of the game-- if we draw this it helps us for the series and World championship..

The championship is a joke due to many reasons.

It's a great test and fantastic to see 3 great tests one after another. Championship or no championship, it's a great fight back after being bowled in 30s.

Commendable performance by India to save the test match.. they are almost there to a well deserved draw. Giving the Aussies a taste of their own medicine.

Bhuvi would be smashed around on these pitches and I don’t even know the last time he played.

India clearly have done well without the guys and actually better considering result of the first test.

I think as far as strength in depth is concerned, india is kuch stronger

I think they have punched above their weight... I mean with Saini bowling if we have managed to draw this test its actually a huge thing..

Drawing this test has seemed harder than winning the last one..(where we had Umesh for a bit and Jaddu fit)

I remember Mitchell Johnson mentioning that drop in pitches in Australia played a factor in his decision to quit international cricket as pitches in Australia had become way to flat, batsmen friendly compared to the past

Yup. And I think Smith too echoed the bowlers’ thoughts. Think it was around the 2014 series if I am not wrong. Likewise, if I am not mistaken, Starc said something like that too.

Ashwin and jadeja have been immense in this series.
Australia would be wondering how in a home series theyve allowed the indians the luxury to field both.
Brilliant from india to stick to their strengths.

Americans do well in soccer. Regularly make WC knockouts which is amazing considering it’s not even top 3 sport here.

Also the general population knows and understands the rules more or less and around WC they atleast have an idea of it happening

True but not like NFL..

Time to shake hands I think.

I rate this rearguard very, very highly.

I know the pitch is dead, but after Port Of Spain 1988 I think this is the second greatest moment in Asian cricket history!

This is some fightback from India. Kudos to them. Backs to the wall almost throughout the test but didn't give up.

Somehow they raise their game against Australia like no other team. Fantastic to watch.

Blockfest for entire game, tournament lasting 3 years. You telling me this is the epitome of Cricket?

That's true but SCG isn't a drop-in pitch yet.

Props to India. Tim Paine and Aus deserves this humiliation haha.

Aus should win this well-fought test series. There won't be a humiliation. Some time other teams can play out of their skin and that's what Indians are doing right now. Even 1-1 won't be a humiliation for Aus, but yes a poor result given India will be missing so many players.

And also against top 7 vs tailenders.

I feel he feasts on lower order players alot and is pretty average against top-order.

Shane Warne has pointed this out many times as well. He does not rate Starc at all and feels he feasts against the tail. Don't get me wrong, getting rid of the tail rapidly is a vital skill as well but you are ultimately judged on how frequently you do against the top 6

OK, boys take and one make it interesting..... India is getting closer to safety.

I wouldn't pick on Aus bowlers. Just enjoy the great fightback. It great due to bowling Aus has as well.

Aus bowling is good but has a long way to be labelled as greatest Australian attack which was being said so many times over and over again in this test match by their own Australian commentators

This is why I rate Ashwin and Jadeja so much more highly than Yasir Shah.

A team can only have one Number Eleven. The rest of the bowlers need to be able to bat for 60, 80 or 100 balls.

Lol they are in the zone when match can be called as a draw if both captain agree. Games done

Yasir shah has a century in Australia.....

I already said from the first test(even though India lost it)India,South Africa and to an extent England have a psychological effect on Aussies,if Newzealand stop being kittens against Australia they could give a run as well.

I won't take hyperbole seriously when it comes to Aus commentators, but it's surely one of the best attacks. I won't put them ahead of McGrath/Warne . I have not seen earlier ones to really compare.

True ,I have to say Pant has a lot to do with rattling them though.. except good disciplined bowling

Test cricket is called test cricket for a reason. Cricket is just not about hitting sixes. A team down with I injuries, man ready to play with a broken hand, a man injured but still playing to save the test match for the country. That has its own thrill. But you won't know being a BD fan. Team who can never play tests.

Humbly disagree. Do not think the attack is indomitable at home let alone away.

Yes, superior mentality. Nothing ever can compare to test cricket aka home domination aka block fest.

Hope Shradul Thakur does not end up with a place in the next match replacing Sir J. Mayank can play for Vihari. Wonder if there are 11 fieldable players left in the dressing room.

Yes , but how did that benefit the team , did Pakistan win or draw ? Cricket is a team game.

That’s not his job and more importantly not relevant in the context of this exchange.

He said Ashwin is better than Yasir because he is scoring runs here and I pointed out Yasir actually has a century

With two injured batsmen in the opposition team in pant and jadeja on a day 5 pitch bowling at home conditions and not able to pick the last wickets to win this test match has been a below par performance by so called one of the best Australian attack

If this attack fails in the last test match too then it would be one of the poorest performance by the so called one of the best Australian attack at their own home

I think its the captain that is the issue, Clarke with Rhino,Johnson used to wreck havoc..

Tbh Ryan Harris is one of the great bowlers of the past 20 years. It’s a shame he had so many injuries + came in so late.

Shradul will come and get injured playing at Gabba.

Yes but I would still rate Cummins higher.. Rhino was my personal fav Aussie though(after Mcgrath)..

If you have good bowlers , by Good I mean really Good not overratted , you can beat Australia in Australia.

Yea Cummins is better but Ryan Harris would make this attack ahead of Starc easily

Yes I agree Clarke would love to have these bowlers but Clarke might have an issue with anyone of them.

A batsman like Ashwin and a injured vihari has batted and probably saved the test match for their team against this so called greatest Australian attack

Ashwin has 4 hundreds and 11 fifties , and majority when he batted in critical juncture when team lost half the side for very few scores. Who should we think is better ?

I find you delusional and lacking cricketing acumen, so I am not sure which discussing you are referring to. What is the one where you were trying to prove that LQ has a world class T20 bowling unit?

Yep! The one you ran away from after resorting to personal insults to derail the thread rather than respond to the q and name some bowling attacks. Bingo!

Slightly disappointed but I think India could’ve won. I guess they changed plans after the fall of Pujara - nonetheless, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING resistance and resilience shown by the Indian batting.

The odds of a draw were only 5% with 75% in favor of an Aussie victory a few overs before tea today.

Lol Vihari should play some shots to up his average now

Shame it’s such a great effort but statistically won’t make him look any better

PAK should have won that one.

God bless the umpires (if I recall correctly). Pretty solid to performance too, to win the first one comfortably, draw the second and only lose the final Test by 2 wickets.

Feel the same.. esp coz now Jaddu is injured..
