The best young bowler at the CT 2017 : Starc/Amir/Mustafizur/Rabada/Bhuvneshwar/Other

I think it will be Rabada, Pace & Accuracy, good bowling action and wicket taking capability.

After him will be Amir, replicating his old form. He is slowly getting his rhythm back.

In England, bowlers who can move ball both ways, will be successful. Bowlers who just bowl fast, won't be so.

In all seriousness I am really looking forward to seeing him bowl though.

Heard a lot about fast bowlers from India being better than our lot from a few posters here especially from [MENTION=131701]Mamoon[/MENTION] , I don't necessarily watch Indian games so I can just go by what posters tell me here.....

Having said that and going by such reports Indians should comfortably out bowl our boys !!

Are you confident they can match their leading pace contemporaries ?? And no I am not talking about Pakistani fast bowlers since we are at the bottom of the barrel right now....

Don't know about best bowler overall, but I am sure Hassan Ali would outperform Amir

Every athlete has room for improvement, you are quoting something I said 5 months ago not 5 days ago. Hassan Ali when he came into the squad was no more than a 135kph bowler and now look at him......

People improve in a competitive environment and Bumrrah can improve too.....It's not something totally out of the realm of possibility you know......

So you have watched most of his career, and you clearly have a lot more to go by than what posters have been saying.

Everything about him is the same today, so there is no reason for your views to be any different now.

Yes Bumrah is one of the better death bowlers in the world at the moment but I dont know why I find him pretty uneasy to watch due to his action which seems clean and pretty effective but very unorthodox. Yes Indian bowling attack has improved a lot and is good.

As others have mentioned Hassan Ali is the guy to look out for along with other obvious choices. He has got everything as a pace bowler one can ask for other than height (but than we have Dale Steyn). He has got swing with the new ball, he can clock upto 140-145. He bowls exceptional cutters and slow bowls, can reverse swing the ball (One of the best components of this art I have seen after a long time) and bowl excellent yorkers as well.
 
I have a feeling it will be fizz again. Even after injury he has been bowling really well. A lethal cutter, in swinger, Yorker.

And line length impeccable

Even though I like fizz but I think he's the least talented among these four.

He doesn't swing the ball and hardly gets any seam movement from the pitch either. But yes, he has an excellent fast arm action. I love watching him bowl.

I also have the same feeling.Fizz is getting in the groove yet again.But to be the Fizz of pre-injury era it will take some more time.Day by day he is improving, it is not easy to perform right at the time coming from post surgery rehab.After just one game of belting in IPL,many were saying that Fizz is no more and batsmen have picked up his cutters.Fizz performs not only by virtue of cutters, he has very good yorkers, inswing to left handers and out swing to right handers and above all very good control of line and length.What he should develop is inswing to right handers which he dont possess at the moment.

Rabada is much better than Bumrah.
 
If Bumrah had been of Pakistan, he would have been banned up till now for illegal bowling action.

He bowled a few inswinging deliveries in this series. Got Ross Taylor out with a beauty

I do not have much idea about the mechanics of fast bowling action but I do not think Bumrah will have a long career if he continues with the same action.His action looks too heavy and burdensome.
 
Amir and pat cummins are my bet they will outperform others starc will struggle I feel fizz will do good too.Bumrah is only good at death overs he is not going to pick many wickets!

You wish he had an illegal action. Every Pakistani banned so far was an obvious darter, and deserved the ban. No conspiracy behind it.

These pitches are a Shame.

Come on ICC, be wise. The time is not very far, when we might see 500 being scored.

Already 444 is done.
 
Fizz and Starc haven't had any success so far. And these have been two successful bowlers in the past. Definitely the issue is with the pitches.
 
Rabada is probably the most exciting quick in world cricket. I hope he stays injury free because he's an insane prospect in all formats.
 
Haven't watched too much of Rabada but he is an exciting prospect who should definitely lead SA's bowling attack after Steyn, he' very talented.

India preferred 34 and 36 averaging pacers over 24 averaging Shami. Shocking is a small word.


Starc took 4 wickets vs BD.

Fizz is rubbish. I used to believe exactly the opposite in the past. But now his performance has forced me to change my stance. He doesn't deserve the hype he gets. Can't swing or seam the ball even in helpful conditions.

Don't think his 130 km pies and constant slower deliveries will get him anywhere.

Only time will tell whether he is found out or out of form. Too early to call atm.


If he puts on muscle and stays makes his action more upright without falling to his left side than


1. Will gain pace

2. Bounce will improve



He is quite end and despite not being a finished product yet curtasy loads of injuries He has achieved quite abit.
 
I thought Fizz bowl well apart from a few overs in the tournament. Not been at his best but not a flop

Bowling few bad overs at the death, is no big deal. Even Hassan did it.

But Fizz was bowling bad at the beginning if the innings

He was trying too much. Id a better bowler once the ball is old.

He isn't going to be effective if he continues to trundle at 130 km/h.

I just simply don't see much in his bowling. The pace isn't great, he doesn't get much bounce from a base and he's isn't particularly great at extracting movement.

It's why I've always said that Taskin is a better bowler than the Fizz. He bowls at a decent click, he's tall and if he works on developing a good outswinger he'll be a handful.

Starc's overall performances make him best ODI bowler atm. If in one or few matches he dislodges tail than it doesn't matter. How many wickets of Wasim, Waqar were of tailenders ? The whole world respects them.

It's good to see overall picture.


For me 0-50 is not better than 4-70.

Even I prefer 4-70 over 0-50, but the tailender not gonna score anything, better be economical.
