Sometimes there are images which evoke confidence, that inspire

But then there are images which do the exact opposite.

Lol, we are never a happy bunch, always complaining.

Even if got foreign selectors we will still complain.

let me tell you a funny thing. Kamran Akmal was also suppose to be seated there but was removed as selector at the last minute.

Mr. Akmal posted his team yesterday on social media, his 15. ANd guess what, while Usama Mir, Shadab and Imad were selected, he believed Abrar Ahmed should be a probable and should not be selected as priority.

Point being, these guys are ridiculous, and you can expect anything from them.

Like Wahab selecting Hasan Ali is something that I everyone knew would happen eventually. Wahab Riaz is completely out of touch as a selector and learned nothing from the mistakes made during the 2023 World Cup.

As selector (not as coach), Misbah was good, baring his first series picks he made, and than Mohammad Waseem was also good as selector as he gave a fair chance to domestic performers.

Now the Ireland series is going to be soo intense because any player can be dropped or pick for the world t20. If Azam Khan gets dropped again, i would genuinely feel bad for the guy. This has happened to him in the past where he was selected in a 15 that had him for the World T20 and than he got dropped.

If you are not sure of your playing 15 on the eve of a World Cup and need another series in between to check the players (after a series with NZ), than it only shows the selectors have failed at their job.

True. They should have just announced this as the WC squad.

Appropriate thread title name. Yousuf should be nowhere near the management. If he could, he'd even bring Asad Shafiq back to the team. Wahab Riaz has proven his incompetency. Abdul Razzaq has never even uttered something wise as far as I can recall. These are the people running the show???

People over here used to mock Mohd Wasim as Chief Selector as well. I doubt we will ever be happy with anyone.

Their explanation for selecting Hassan Ali is that he's an experienced pacer.

That's enough.

Slow train?
More like a train going at full speed about to hit the end of the line

For real, Abdul Razzaq was an okayy allrounder (batting average of 30 & bowling average of 32 in ODI's) and has an even averager cricketing mind. All he does is complain that cricketers today cannot hit 6's. But funnily enough, even Babar has a higher SR in ODI's compared to him.

Just the body language, the ready-made excuses, the hangdog looks - not the sight of champions.

Almost like they are praying for miracles when announcing these player names.

So much lack of conviction!

Goodness me, what's the saying "a picture is louder than words"

Well this pic is telling me is Pakistan cricket is SCREWED.

The pic reminds me of a group of friends who all just woke up from a coma being massive WCW fans only to see Brock Lesnar Vs Goldberg from WrestleMania 20.

Let me tell something point blank to people here, you are not going to get foreign selectors to work for Pakistan, you will only get Pakistani ex cricketers. You are lucky enough that we get foreign coaches to apply and come here. Maybe we should stop complaining 24/7 about our selectors. Like it or not Yousaf is a Pakistani legend and Abdul Razzaq will go down as one of our top limited overs all rounders. These two are right up there in terms of qualifications to serve as selectors. A country which can have the likes of Tauseef Ahmed, Iqbal Qasim, Wasim Bari, Col Naushad, Sallu Sallahuddin, Shafiq Papa, Mohd Ilyas, Salim Altaf, having the likes of Yousaf, Razzaq and even Wahab is a significant upgrade.

You don't have to suffer from a gora or English speaking complex every time where all things Pakistani are bad, incompetent.

Yousuf can teach them the art of waiting for the weak link in the bowling attack to score 12 runs in the over
No such thing anymore.

Batsmen need to learn to be aggressive. Look at quinton, Rohit, rachin in the world cup. They got exposed(Not rachin but rohit 100%) whenever they faced quality bowlers.

However they always gave 9 RR starts because their so aggressive that even quality bowlers like stark and Cummings are forced to change line and length and make mistakes, cause rhey know they can't afford a slightly overpriced delivery with these guys.

Trick is to not let quality bowlers find their rhythm which is what Travis head also did to neutralise shami and bumrah and kuldeep in the final.

It's easy to bowl to rizwan and babar, they let quality bowlers go into perfect rhythm lol.

I don't understand the part in bold. How exactly is that? They haven't shown much interest in the domestic circuit and both their managerial and analytic performances have been nothing to hurra about. Using the standard of previous horrific selectors isn't a good approach either. Two wrongs don't make a right. And yes I agree, we are not going to get foreign selectors to work for Pakistan, and neither should we. But at least someone who's genuinely into our system, involved with the teams, players and coaches, and have shown initiative. These selectors, however, have clearly been brought in due to favouritism.

You should have watched the presser. None of them wanted to talk to the media and were turning the microphone at each other to answer the questions.

WHat can we expect from these guys.

Just look at these guys. Childish behavior in front of media. Can we say that these guys are serious about Pakistan cricket? Nope.... not at all.

Professionalism doesn't exist in Pakistan Cricket.

This is how you behave when you are presenting a half finished project with your friends being 11 years old. Embarrasing...

Wahab tries to be professional, but the other two are frankly lacking in communication skills as evidenced by razzaks recent comments every time he makes a tv appearance... Now imagine these guys behind closed doors.

They all are bringing favoritism culture back to the system. Top domestic performers such as Sahibzada Farhan and Kamran Ghulam are not even in their discussions.
