Lets start with the good!

Good

1) Andre Russel in Plat category for IU - big power hitter and lots to learn from him
2) Sahibzada Farhan - although I would have liked him to have a Gold contract it is still good nonetheless and I hope he gets a lot of game time
3) Alex Hales for IU - arguably the best player in their team! Hope Farhan learns a LOT from him on how to be a good LOI opener and sees him as a role model
4) Jason Roy for QG - another fantastic LOI opener and I hope Rameez Raja jr, Umar Amin and Saud Shakeel spend a lot of time with him and learn from him
5) Rilee Roussow for QG - good player!
6) Fakhar in Diamond contract for LQ - glad to see he is persisted with and hope he has a great PSL and translates his potential to International T20's
7) Mustafizur Rehman for LQ - I am a fan of his and excited to watch him play. Hope he does well and brings start power to the PSL!
8) Aamer Yamin / Raza Hasan for LQ - glad to see they are both being given chances and I hope they are able to succeed and return to the national team!
9) Shakib / Tamim for PZ - fantastic players and I hope they are able to play the entire tournament!
10) Haris Sohail for PZ - glad he is being given a chance and can learn to develop his power game even further!
11) Evin Lewis for PZ - underrated player and I hope we get to see his explosive knocks!
12) Kieron Pollard for MS - experienced all-rounder and a big hitter!
13) Darren Bravo for MS - big hitter!
14) Shehzad for MS - nothing to say more :) but I wish he was in the Platinum category
15) Maqsood for MS - he is being given another chance so I hope he makes it count!
16) Babar Azam for KK - he is in Diamond category which is good but I wish he was made captain instead of Imad so we could judge his leadership potential
17) Mohammad Rizwan for KK- like Maqsood he is being given another chance so hopefully he can also make it count!
18) Luke Wright for KK - very underrated player in the shorter formats so really excited to watch him play again!
19) Eoin Morgan for KK - fantastic player and arguably their best! Hope Babar is able to spend a lot of time with him on how to play T20's and how to accelerate :)

Bad

1) Where is Steven Smith, Corey Anderson, Ben Stokes, Jos Butler, Joe Root, Williamson, Guptill, Maxwell, ABD, Du Plessis?? Wish the PSL could have recruited these players...
2) Misbah ul Haq for IU - no business playing PSL let along as captain and in Platinum category
3) JP Duminy for IU - not a great T20 player
4) Mohammad Sami for IU - no idea why he is selected  TTF
5) Luke Ronchi for IU- not a T20 player
6) Iftikhar Ahmed for IU - no business playing PSL
7) KP / Shane Watson for QG - although the provide star power they are both retired and should not be playing PSL anymore
8) Asad Shafiq for QG - cannot comprehend how he get selected in the first place yet alone how he gets retained every year
9) Anwar Ali for QG - not good enough
10) Umar Akmal for LQ - if he is not fit enough for the national team - how is he miraculously fit for T20 franchises?? :13:
11) Yasir Shah for LQ - not a T20 player
12) Belawal Bhatti for LQ - not good enough
13) Cameron Delport for LQ - LQ could have found someone better in the Silver category
14) Hafeez / Wahab for PZ - they both have no business being in the Platinum category!
15) Kamran Akmal for PZ - needs to retire ASAP!
16) Saad Nasim for PZ - not good enough
17) Sanga for MS - also should not be playing PSL anymore
18) Mohammad Irfan for MS - arguably the worst signing! needs to retire as his body cannot cope any longer
19) Umar Gul for MS - also needs to retire!
20 Afridi for KK - also should not be playing PSL anymore
21) Khurram Manzoor for KK - not good enough

Discuss!

JP isn't a good T20 bat? He's a quality middle order T20 option, the remaining firepower down the order for IU perfectly complements the sort of batsman he is.

Don't see why retired players who can still clearly offer something should be discouraged. I'd argue they're the best source of inspiration for the young crop to learn from. Watson, KP and Sanga are hardly current ability dead-weights either, especially KP.

JP seems like a good ODi type player but I am not so sure about T20's...

Regarding the retired players - there are many current players who should have been in the PSL draft and replaced the likes of Petersen, Watson, Sanga's etc.

He remains the highest run scorer in PSL history with the most 50's and most boundaries!

I don’t get why Pakistanis like Shezad, he along with Hafeez are one of the worse openers to ever open for Pakistan.... Pakistanis don’t get batting at all, I would never select either one of them to open innings...At best they are spin bashers, country has millions of them

England,NZ,and Australian players will be involved in a t20 series as the time of the PSL. Also don't expect top Australian players to play in the PSL as PSL is off the back of the Australian summer. South Africa must have tour that's why a lot of South Africans aren't involved.

M Sami was a top player in inaugural season for IU, one of the major reasons why they won.

Luke Ronchi is not t20 player?? Are you serious???

He is 100 times the player Ahmed Shahzad will ever be

You can't get everything you wish for , there are so many leagues and the idea of playing a few matches in pakistan is another factor that a few players will avoid psl. BTW luke ronchi has a strike rate 152 and and average of 22 which is good enough.

You forgot chriss lynn from LQ as a good signing, good hitter.

I can partially agree with shehzad as he has had an average Psl so far

Afridi is bad for KK?? How??

Darren bravo as a t20 player, hmmm!!

What is Luke Ronchi’s stats in T20’s?

Saif Badar playing under Shaoib Maliks captaincy.

Hammad Azam getting picked.

On a bad note surprised non of the franchises picked Jofre Archer- bowls 90mph and can hit it a mile.

OP thinks shehzad should be in platinum and that Darren Bravo is a big hitter. That should tell you about the thread..

JP Duminy is a good t20 player, I have no idea what you are on about
A lot that you say is wrong
Afridi and Misbah probably playing their last PSL
KP still valuable
Sami been in good form in PSL
Etc etc

Also the list of players you gave are unavailable as they have other commitments, surely you should know that by now. Already as it is we have a strong force of overseas players, as the seasons go on this will get better and better
