The Greatest Test Match Ever Involving Pakistan?

the win agnst south africa in durban in 1998 was one of the best wins imo , saeed anwar scored a brilliant century and ofcourse shoaib with a five wicket haul

I am 99% sure Harper made no such error - I remember Taufell not giving 1 close LBW to against Razzaq but that was it. That decision hardly made a difference - it was Kamrans innings that made the difference - and the ball was still seaming and swinging for a fair bit of time.
India won the toss and they had all the conditions in their favour. Indian fans should make no exuses as Pak were 0/3, 39/6 yet to get slaughtered by 340 runs must still be hurting them.

Nope, I remember he did make an error. But to say that Pakistan won because of that one error is certainly not right.

I agree. Pak were deserving winners of that test match and no excuses should bail us out.

lol just as i thought ,ur the one who came up with the false accusation , so u shud hve come up with the proof , why shud i look for it , stop spreading false info and accept that india were thoroughly trounced , wasnt the first time india lost to pak and wont b the last .... . cheers
If you haven't seen the match live then just take that 99% surety with you to bed or go watch some highlights, I've seen that match & know what I'm talking about but doesn't seem like you do so I don't need any certificate to state a fact !

I said it turned the match situation around & what could've/should've happened thereafter is mere speculation cause no one can predict the future let alone
what if this then that would've been so & so
sort of stuff !

You can thank Harper for that, didn't give Razzaq out in the first/second over he faced from Zaheer & it was plumb LBW !
When Razzaq was given out, it was also the incorrect decision.

That would get my vote.

Alec Stewart carried his bat. I thought that England had snatched it at the death - Chris Lewis bowled like the wind, and I remember Salisbury gloving Miandad and Salim Malik. Then W&W guided Pakistan home.

I sat on my dad's lap at the age of 7 and cried when we were 95/8. Aamir kicked the ball onto his stumps, Miandad got out for 0, Moin got bat and pad off Salisbury and Malik was turned around by a vicious leg-break and we were in trouble.

I said to my dad "Promise me we won't lose!!" He said that Pakistan would win...and WE DID. Those were the days :D

Mushtaq was brilliant with the ball in the 2nd innings too.

From out of nowhere, I ended up watching the highlights of the 3rd Test between Pakistan and India in 2005 at Bangalore. This has to go down as my second favorite Test match ever after Chennai 1999.

Must win game after Kumble had done us in Kolkata, 10 wickets required on the final day and guess who stepped up to the plate :afridi

Also, Sami's yorker to DK was epic :sami

But the most iconic moment of the series was the last wicket with Balaji's cap flying off :))) Who else remembers it? Not the Test match but his cap flying off? :91:

I have the highlights of that match on a disc. I remember getting one from a DVD shop back in 2005. Used to watch it daily for days.

I don't think there are highlights on YT, but I did find the wickets of the final innings.

Thank you I will look for a highlight disc for the test match.

That ball that got Ganguly out is the best ball I've ever seen by :afridi
Flawless, Shane Warne level right there

40th Anniversary of Pakistan 1st Test win at Lord's

Today we celebrate 40th anniversary of Pakistan's 1st test win at Lords, the mecca of Cricket. One of Pakistan cricket's most defining moments. A combination of an epic knock of Mohsin Khan, the bewitching spin of Abdul Qadir, the penetrative seam bowling of Mudassar Nazar and the astute leadership of Imran Khan.

At junctures it seemed that England were on the road to safety in rain affected match, with a loss of almost day's play.Mohsin Khan Khan's mammoth 200 was the epitome of grace and technical perfection ,reminiscent of momunment being constructed. Zaheer Abbas batted with the ease of a boat cruising before being dismssed for 75.Pakistan were dismissed for 428.England seemed to be coasting along to avid the innings defeat before Abdul Qadir spun a web around the Englsih batsmen, simply bewildering them., capturing 4-39.Finally Imran closed the innings of England by trapping Robin Jackman at exactly 200,to enforce the follow on .In the 2n Innings Mudasar Nazar sent England reeling, with lethal movement. England looked doomed at 9-3.Finally after staunch resilience by the lower order England were dismissed for 276 in the 2d innings, an Pakistan cruised home chasing a target of 76 runs.Mudassar's 6-32 ranks amongst the craftiest exhibitions by a medium-pacer, who brilliantly exploited the atmospheric conditions

Hard to find an adjective to describe the ecstasy of the Pakistan fans.Mohsin Khan bowed down to the Mecca after the winning shot, thanking the Lord. The Pakistan mental resilience won the day, making inroads at crucial junctures.Pakistan levelled the series at 1-1, before the final test at Leeds. Pakistan were turned from a talented bunch of individuals into a well-knitted army by Imran.
