"The kind of ODI team we have, we are favourites to win the 2019 World Cup" : Sehwag

Flukes can happen in 1 game, not 4 games in 4, but you had to show your Indian jealousy though.

Itni zor ki phainti pari thi thora rona dhona tou bunta hai... nani yaad dila di :sree

There is no jealousy at all, I am happy for Pakistan team, they won CT fair and square.

That win does make Pakistan a great odi team as it proved in NZ. They are no 7 for a reason.

Can you share ranking of india and pakistan without believing in conspiracies ? Thank god ranking is here otherwise people like you would have believed and said anything about india like you say in time paas section.
I dnt think pakistan has ever been n.o 1 odi team in the world. India has been many times and currently as well n.o 1 ODi team in the world. Champions trophy is the biggest fluke because pakistan is not even in top 5 ranking teams of the world. This never happens.

What has ranking got to do with it? I believe Pak has been number 1 many years back anyway India indeed is overrated in my opinion. Yeah, and your 11 WC wins over us were flukes as well with many occurring when we were better ranked then you. Back in the days of Akram and Younis when we were much stronger and favourites you'd still win, flukes! It is not Football where there is a large gap between sides. In Cricket that is not the case, I'd say rankings mostly go out the window for sensible fans. Get Kolhli out then the rest will follow, he's Amir's bunny anyway!

SInce 2015 WC, Rohit has hit 10 ODI 100s to Kohli's 13, Dhawan has 5 100s as well. When Kohli does well, this ODI team does very well but we are not totally clueless when Kohli fails. One CT final cannot be a benchmark.

Nonetheless he is your main man who can play under pressure. Of course the rest like Pandya can hit the ball but he ain't good under pressure. The rest getting some centuries doesn't negate this at all. I am not saying that the Pak batting is great either.

So a team who has never won a world cup, and consistently goes out early each tournament. And a team that is currently ranked a distant 6th in the world and was recently whitewashed in New Zealand.

India are ahead of these two teams and rightly called the favourites. We can't call ourselves joint favourites when we're struggling to beat sides home and away and haven't exactly been dominating tournaments/world cups in the past 10 years. India on the other hand has been the most consistent in the last 10 years, along with Australia.

England have the best ODI team post 2015 WC. They have hit a score of 300 or more the most, and by a considerable margin too. I think South Africa are a distant second. On top of that, they have some of the games most audacious hitters in Stokes, Hales, Roy and Buttler, not to forget the world class Root and Bairstow. On top of that, they have two of the highest wicket takers in ODI cricket in that time period in PLunkett and Rashid. England have also proven their pedigree as more than just a home ground winning side by beating Aus and NZ in back to back away series, the former in one sided, destructive fashion.

Pakistan are the current CT holders, won that tournament in Englad (where the wc is to be held) with ease, comfort and impeccable annihilation of all opponents post opening match. They currently have the best fast bowler in the format, add to that Amir and a 3rd pacer from Raees/Junaid/Faheem, potentially the best spin bowling all rounder outside of Shakib, one of the most prolific and belligerent opening batsmen and a burgeoning crop of young players. If this team develops the way it should, it has a better margin for growth than Australia, NZ and the others. Oh, and losing to NZ wasn't that bad, especially considering how close they took the series against England.

Now I know you Indians hate when someone says "well, not everything is about India" but that is not what my post was about. There is noway India is the sole favourite or the top favourite for a wc win in England. They are ONE of the faves.
