The long list of players that we have made to look good

Yes, Malik is the king... just look at any Anwaar's post. He was made look a little decent in a few matches... and Anawaar thinks he is a Bradman.

My problem with Malik is not primarily the lack of his cricket playing skills but it was the ethics. He sold himself and back stabbed the entire nation for a few bucks, which I think is more severe of a crime than being a daft at playing cricket.

He was a good athlete and would have become a good player but again ... the MINDSET !! .... a classical example that reminds of that story where this guy butchers the chicken to get all the golden eggs at one time ...... "kachay chore" !!

Anil Kumble.. he was a good bowler.. but hell, Pak gave him 10 wickets in an innings..

Seeing us struggle vs Hamish Bennett reminded me of how much we struggled against some of the most mediocre of bowlers. List some of your favourites or any that you remember:

Hamish Bennett is one of them obviously. Here is a guy who Bangladesh had no issue with!

Then there is Paul Harris. Decent spinner but we made him to look so much better than he is.

Ashley Giles in Pakistan.

Corey Collymore....for some reason we made him look unplayable when we toured West Indies. They could probs slect him again and we would struggle.

Who else?

Anil Kumble.

Kumble did not take all ten wickets... it is the just score card which shows that.

Marcus North
Monty Panesar
Hauritz
The Sri lankan Spinner Herera I think is name was
Sajid Mahmood in 2006
Dilhara Fernando
BALAJI
Joginder Sharma
Southee
Tong
Nial o brien
A botha
Sreesanth
Robin Singh
Trent
Kyle Mills
Collingwood
Guptill

Ahh yes, who can forget Joginder Sharma. What a disaster that was.

Another one we could list is Neil McKenzie.

Didn't a guy named Mathew Bell from NZ scored a 100 against us in 2001?

@ OP
Not to nitpick, but there shouldn't be an apostrophe in 'Lulloos.'

I'm no grammarian, but the worldwide Misplaced Apostrophe outbreak just bugs the hell out of me.

Ganguly in Toronto was made to look like Dennis Lillee. I remember I was a ball boy in Lahore when India later toured Pakistan and Ijaz Ahmed slaughtered the Indians with 130 something. Before the match began Ijaz had called Ganguly out and said 'Oh pai, eh Toronto nai, ithey tu gaind kerawey ga tey teri wah wah dhulai hui gi.' and Ganguly had replied saying 'Baatein mat chooda ker' :P We all know what Ijaz did to Ganguly that day..Aah those were the days!

:))) :))) :))) @ the Thread title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say we ourselves our lulloos who got out to such bowlers!

but ROFLMAO!!!

great thread!

Lmao :)))

Ijaz You Legend.

DJ Terbrugge. Played four ODIs got four wickets all against us.

Clint McKay has an average around 12 against us in ODIs.

I think Woodcock will be next to be added on this list...

Ganguly as a bowler

cant believe he got 4 back to back man of the match against pakistan :O :)))

I just don't understand how this Bennett guy takes wicket against us. I am predicting he won't be playing for the NZ team in a year.

:manzoor

Seriously, the list of Lullos that Pakistan made to look like World Class is so long that I can type for ages and still not be done.

Some epic ones:

Chris Harris
Paul Adams (SA spinner/whatever)
Marcus North
Gangully (Bowler and towards the end of his career the batsman too)
Marcus North
Broads (both father and son)
Kumble (Was a good bowler but most times we made him look out of this world bowler except for a few memorable phaintis by Inzi/YK/MoYo/Afrid/Anwar etc.)
Vettori (If he is a spinner than every Indian medium pacer bowled at 100 MPH too)
Watson (We kick started his brilliant come back)
Carl Rackman
Botha
Most of this NZ team
on and on the list goes

Neil Mallender
Sajid Mahmood
Liam Plunkett
Monty Panesar
Ashley Giles
Scott Muller

Marcus North
Rangana Herath
Corey Collymore
Andrew Hall
Andre Nel
Lonwabo Tsotsobe

Indeed pakistan have struggled against medicore bowlers of late. I guess its the spinners that they have struggled the most.
They have made very average slow bowlers look world beaters.

Marcus North
Paul Harris
Hearath
M.Yardy
N.Macculium

Nathan Hauritz

Scott Styris

He is a decent one day batsmen who seems to enjoy us. If anything though, we have made his bowling to look a lot better than it is.

But honestly Nathan McCullum for sure. Batting and bowling. This guy is the definition of a lulloo. A real nothing player. Not good at bowling. Not good at batting.

Not even worthy of being a club level bowler and gets the wickets of Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal and Abdul Razzaq

Seriously, Franklin is the worst of the lot.. honestly, how the hell?

Give me a Hauritz or Harris 5 for any day over these 3 wickets.

I dunno. It's ok for hafeez to get a wicket or two, but suddenly its a crime for franklin to get some?

Left armer around the wicket line had our batsman bamboozled.

In fact any little bit of variation has us in trouble it seems.

over reaction this, franklin has really improved as a batsman.

To be honest, this NZ team will be destroyed in the WC to better teams. We have made them look so much better than they are because their dibbly dobblers like Oram, Stryis, and Franklin were able to get through their overs and take wickets. Teams like Aus and India will punish such bowling.

I agree. These dibbly dobblies got hammered by Bangladesh in subcontinent. There wont be short boundaries to give them a chance in the WC.

The mcCullum bros are talented! They always hold a threat for the opposition.

Rangana is back, smart and interesting move for Sri Lanka to play him. I think they only played them cause of his good record against us.

Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana Rangana

some excellent suggestions, but i cant believe no one mentioned derek pringle. the dibblyest of the dobbly and again, he ate pakistani batsmen for breakfast.

id have him right at the top of any list. of the ones mentioned the next one has to be marcus north.

This Herath only seems to do well against Pakistan.

Dont hear from him for ages and then suddenly they play him against Pakistan and he picks up some cheap wickets.

I called it in the commentary thread when I came to know that Herath is playing instead of Mendis. That keep a close eye on him as I suspect him to bowl his quota cheaply and might get some wickets.

2 for 46. He will now return to the bench, his job for the World Cup is done :))

Kamran played a poor poor shot against Herath.

Down the ground playing against spin to Herath who is obviously angling it away :)))

Who the hell is Harvir Baidwan?

Well, Pakistan are making him famous as we speak. Remember the name.

Combine the legendary bowlers Lakshmipathy Balaji + Rao Iftikhar and what do you have?

The one and only, the unplayable Balaji Rao !!

(I thought the fatso bowled a very negative line btw)

Southee is a class bowler, and I expect him to have an excellent career.

dunno about class, but he's a lot better than we say.

but still,

The guy was bowling at nearly 90 mph and swinging the new ball. He can also reverse the ball. He is going to become a very good bowler.

Maybe a tad harsh...we had an off day but he bowled well...he was pretty decent against England too...
